Hodling is actually a good thing to do. Just because you have this awful currencies doesn't mean that hodling is bad. I think that you should sell this currencies and buy normal stuff

I think it depends on the altcoin you hold, i suggest you to hold bitcoin and top 10 altcoin in coinmarketcap so you will see the different your shitcoin, and good altcoin.
Holding it's not a bullshit but in a first place we are too angry sometimes because the coins we hold are it too long to increase the price i think it will be in a year or months before will hit into the price. But if they hit we can get a high profit of that so we need to patient if we need to hold.
If you do not have a clear understanding of what to look for from the project, then the best tactic is HODL and merge with good growth when the profit suits you!
No, if coins may be bullshit, not the holding itself. Long-term coins always give some profit even if they fall down eventually just to rise again. Maybe people just try to hold short-term small alts that rise and fall rapidly, idk. Of course if you find some interesting project, e.g that one, and get its coins it's better to short-term trade them.

I would definitely agree that one should only hold those coins where team is very good, project is outstanding with too many investors and community is strong then.
I don't think so,that is same mentality most people had you they bought bitcoin at the initial start but as for those with wrong hands they are millionaire today.
Don't blame the holding techniques that everyone used to make some more big profit of doing so since you are holding wrong coins to hold for that long period of time, after a year of holding you should decide if that coins is better holding more months or good to let go since price is not moving at all and try to change it with top coins in markets.

The reason why you hold is because you think the coin has potential, you know it can get a higher price in the future, so it depend on the coin or tokens ,not only hold.
