This has probably been suggested, but if you haven't yet, check out the first "Insidious" movie. It was the first time in a long while I got 'the chills' at the cinema.

Shutter is one of the best movies you'll see in the world. It has a spectacular plot.
My suggestion try you watch jigsaw movie 
The best horror movie for me is Dark Night, a film about a hero who destroys evil spirits, and finally realizes that he is a ghost and he chooses his way. Burn yourself to not hurt other people

All horror films are renewed and predictable already. The main thing in them now is done not for fear but for filling all sorts of effects, which is very bad for the psyche. I prefer horrors with spirits, where there is not a heap of blood, and there is at least a bit of uncertainty and unpredictable outcome.

I'd recommend "The Descent". It starts as a claustrophobic spelunking film, but takes a hard 90 into a horror movie.
