The way it see it is that you can increase your rank simply by being active in recent discussions. Post often and be ready always to reply to a participant in the post or discussion .In other words BEING ACTIVE and inavoidably the rank will rise Smiley

I've read posts and all I saw is to stay active. Is there any other ways to increase rank? And also, how can i earn with low rank?
The only remedy i see in this aspect of increment of rank is base on your performance, which i can say is correlated with your activeness and consciousness for the development of the community, the only way out to earn Merit is base on your own personal method of creativity you derived that will enhance a benefit or betterment to another person or the forum entirely, it's very obvious that you can be here for period of time without been serious or carry out a research that will inspire people of the community to award you profitable remark for years, so from my own views what causes rapid growth of any user is it's engagement.

I wonder how many tips will be given to an account that has one message in its history? The quote clearly shows that the topic was created two years ago.
Do any of the local advisors read the previous posts?

To achieve Jr. Member rank is easy, you'll only need 1 merit and 30 activity and for you to become a member, you'll need 10 merits and 60 activity. To get merits is very challenging. I also find it hard but i always do my best. You also need to keep this in mind NEVER BEG FOR MERITS to other users as it will get you Red trust and it is bad for your image and could make it harder for you to get accepted when you apply campaigns.
No rules stated that as I quoted below the rules only started no begging (,I think it was talking about begging people for money and not merit) There are threads where people drop their contributions asking to be merited, and there are no rules against it; if you have a nice post, you may PM a merit source and not get red-tagged.

No begging
Yes, you are certainly right about that. However what i meant about begging merits is that it should never be done often because if you beg often some users whom you beg for might be annoyed and they'll give you red trust especially when you beg for merits when you post low quality posts. Not all seniors are like that but some are. I mean nothing's bad about begging merits it's just for me as a newbie being careful is what matters the most.

The answer is quite simple but it's hard to achieved it. Getting merits from other users is the only way to increased your rank. You will need a lot of patience and hardwork to be able to do so. You can make your own thread or post in a thread with a good quality post that serves useful information for the others.

Is it wrong to thank somebody for a good information and start somewhere and talk to people so you can ask for help one day?
If so, tell moderators to ban me Wink
You are welcome and have a nice day
You dug out and bumped a 3 years old dead topic only to say just "thank you"? I'm not sure you read the rules about posting, this is obviously a low post and it's unlawful to bump a thread with a low post.

This is what you need

Now tell me if you think any of these are alt accounts or not.  OP started this thread on September 3rd, a month ago, and he's only posted once and it's a question about how to increase his rank.  You'd think that a person concerned with that would, oh, I don't know, start posting regularly?  Especially since that was suggested to him.

This is an alt account farm in the making; that's the way I see it.

This is the most common necroposting. The topic was not created 3 months ago, but two years ago Smiley. And it is not clear where today's newcomer dug it up.

There are not that many, but to mention those that I recall:

a) Signature space or features increase with rank:

Perhaps the allowed signature styling should change with activity score / membergroup. Like:
- Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 40 characters.
- Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 100 characters.
- Member: Unlimited length.
- Full: Color allowed.
- Sr. Member: Size allowed
- Hero: Background color allowed

b) Full Members and above may wear an avatar.

c) Some signature campaigns set a minimum rank to participate, and campaign rewards are nearly always larger based on rank.

This is one of the problems when you are late coming in the forum and you have nothing to offer to the community, but you have to dig dip you need to acquire something you have that you can give to the community to be able to warrant a merit, or you can give a very good advice to people when they are asking something that you know, not only the one asking you will give you a merit but other members as well.

if my answers or messages be short , they will do not accepted for this or deleted ?
Length of post isn't really relevant when it comes to deciding whether or not a post contributes to the discussion/if it is useful, or reporters/moderators deciding if a post should be reported or deleted. A post of a single word might be perfectly acceptable if it is answering a direction question, and conversely there are some users who post entire pages of text which are rambling, incoherent, and not worth reading. Indeed, if you are writing a post and the whole time thinking "How can I make this post longer?" as opposed to "How can I get my point across?", chances are you will end up rambling, going off topic, or repeating yourself, all of which makes your post more likely to be deleted, not less. Try to say what you need to say as succinctly as possible.

What's more important than post length is being on topic, saying something which contributes to the discussion, and not just repeating or rehashing what other people have already said (so read an entire thread, don't just immediately respond to the first post).

First thing you should do is you have to have a mentality not to post non-informative things or shitposts and never spam. When you for example translate something or share something interesting, community always rewards you. Do not just post something as answer and wait for merit.

Absolutely wrong ,this has been the pattern wayback before the “Merit System” take effect but these days?not unless you purchase a “CopperMembership” you will never ranked up without Merits sent to you ,even that you have a thousand activity points but no merit still your rank will be newbie ..

To OP,try your best to help others and with that knowledge you’ll increase the merit received and may ranked up sooner

There are 2 ways to be able to increase rank and have been discussed in previous posts such as by gathering Merit and activities

but there are other ways such as becoming a paid member, but still, the rank is only equivalent to ordinary members. and of course, you still need Merit to rise to a higher rank

The only way to rank in the forum is to be useful to other members through intelligent questions, effective answers and the struggle for a thriving crypto market.

Sometimes we can create intelligent questions or intelligent answer. But sometimes, we don't need to be like this to get merit, don't think too hard brother, you can get merited by users if you can help as simple as you can. Just be yourself on this forum. As far as your post is not OOT or breaking the rules, some day your post will be merited by members. Many tips you can read on this forum to get merits, follow it and be a simple. Use easy words to understand by the other, it's more important than you give long answers/tutorials/guides, but hard to understand, especially for newbies.
It's a very well said dude, just forget for a while the merit system and always be on the topic and your reply must be constructive. Even though you are not fluent English speaker at least it has correct grammar and reader can able to understand. We all want to rank up that's why merit system is the wall barrier to achieve the next rank. Remember also that begging merit is an offense and punishable by the DT members. Be responsible and useful in the forum and merit will come without knowing you.

I think rankings depends upon the number of posts and number of days active . Also always write yourself and Dont do copy paste else the id might be banned for plagiarism.
You have been here for a while since you are a Sr.member then how does it come you don't know about the merit system!
Activity is no longer the only requirement to rank up. You have to earn merits too.
For Hero member one needs atleast 480 posts

Do not misguide someone with a non working easy looking formula. To level up you need to prove yourself to the community and get merits. Just post as per wish and expecting something from the community is not a good approach.

Merits play a major role. There are lot many users in who have 100+ activities and are not yet Jr Members it is because of lack of merits. Please cross verify info before sharing.

It's been discussed and answered in this forum before. Being active will help you know if there would be new events and would also help you learn  more. To increase your rank is to post good topics or discussions and you will be rewarded with merit which is also the requirements to rank. You will need "Activity Points" and "Merit". First thing that you meed to do is to learned about how the forum works, activity points and how merit system works.

Make yourself useful in this forum by helping other members learn more on something you know more that should be related in crypto such as mining, trading, gambling, this whole forum system itself, and etc. Through this, you'll be able to be given merits by merit source and other members who still have sendable merits that are willing to give to anyone who desserve it. Once you've got enough merit and acvity, you'll eventually rank up.

I've already had this user banned for plagiarism. His post history is a smörgåsbord of spam, nonsense, burst posting, and plagiarism. Completely inactive all year, but made 40 posts in the last 24 hours as part of the Yobit campaign. Roll Eyes I know yahoo is on the case, but with these kind of spammers waking up left, right and center, hopefully it won't be long until this campaign is similarly banned.

I figure you’ve got multiple accounts (allowed so long as you abide by the rules and ethics considering merit), since you are posting from a Hero account and asking about a Member ranked account.

You’re probably missing out the Merit requirement, alongside the Activity requirement (see Merit & new rank requirements):

In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are:

RankRequired activityRequired merit
Brand new00
Newbie10
Jr Member301
Member6010
Full Member120100
Sr. Member240250
Hero Member480500
LegendaryRandom in the range 775-10301000

The account you’re on about will require at least 100 merits to reach the Full Member rank. Check you merit counter in your profile. If you are asking about it, it probably means that you’ve got either 0 or 10 merits (depending on when the Member ranked account was created).

Hi, I was checking my Rank on BCT to make sure I use the proper signature for airdrops.

This is what I can find about the ranking:
Brand New: 0 posts, gets 1 gold coin under his name.
Newbie: (none), gets 1 gold coin under his name.
Jr. Member: Activity: 30, gets 1 gold coin under his name.
Member: Activity: 60, gets 2 gold coins under his name.
Full Member: Activity: 120, gets 3 gold coins under his name.
Sr. Member: Activity: 240, gets 4 gold coins under his name.
Hero Member: Activity: 480, gets 5 gold coins under his name.

My activity is currently on 140, but my rank still states Member instead of full member and I can only see 2 gold coins istead of 3.

Have the ranking rules changed or am I missing something ?

That's not enough dude, try to understand what @DdmrDdmr says. Read this once again!

Whoopsie here: You need merits way before, not once you’ve reached Member rank. Each rank from Jr. Member onwards needs merits (OP’s next goal), being the Jr. Member requiring 1 Merit (and 30 Activity).

Read through the links provided by @evgenia_volkova to begin with, and then just explore the different boards to find those that are more appealing to you.

The earning part is really a phase II in any case, unless you can provide some skilled services from the start.

The three steps are incorrectly in orders. In my opinion, Follow rules step should be the first or the second one, not the third one.

I agree that the order is incorrect. But I have mentioned in the "Step 3" that -

Step 2: Post Good
Step 3: Follow Rules
The three steps are incorrectly in orders. In my opinion, Follow rules step should be the first or the second one, not the third one. If I was you, I would suggest those steps:
(1) Read rules, pinned topics (you can find most important things with pinned topics - do this before moving further), and good guides.
Read before posting, search before posting
(2) Obey (follow) rules before making your posts.
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

(3) Only post when you have to make posts, and you should put your decent posts whenever you make it; try to avoid shitposts.
What are shitposts?
They are mentioned indirectly in rules (unofficial) of the forumm.
- Off-topic
- Nonsene
- One-lined
- Copying & pasting, without sources (plagiarism is unavoidable, consequently).
- English-broken.

As stated by the community members first read the rules and follow the rules of the forum. Basically, you need to follow 3 steps to increase your rank.

Step 1: Read Good
Step 2: Post Good
Step 3: Follow Rules

>> Step 1: Read Good

Read some good contents about crypto and its technology. Share the useful contents in the forum.

>> Step 2: Post Good

Post quality contents while you create a thread or when you are replying on a thread. Don't just post for the sake of increasing the activity.

You should keep in mind that there are many experts on the topics within the forum. They usually have a perfect grammar almost always, so that you succeed in your publications you must do it with quality. There are some threads where they explain some tips for you to make publications that contribute and, therefore, the level of topics increases. The books, blogs and information that you have read help you establish your own criteria and, therefore, provide you with a more elegant support.

To increase your rank, you must have the Activity and Merits, everything takes a while, because of this it is so that you reach maturity and you can understand the purpose of the forum.

The bitcointalk forum rank depends on your activities and merit. You have to make good quality posts to increase your activities and merit. The merit will be given by random members from the bitcointalk forum. That's why quality posts are really important. If you want to know more about bitcointalk forum ranks, please read this Merit & new rank requirements official thread.

The next thing is you can participate bounties as a newbie. Because there are so many bounty campaigns other than signature campaigns. The rank is important for signature campaigns. But some bounty managers are don't accept their all campaigns to newbies. You can check them from bounty thread rules. You can find all the bounties from Bounties (Altcoins) official section.

I've read posts and all I saw is to stay active. Is there any other ways to increase rank?
If you don't want to be active and helpful on the forum then don't think about ranking because you need merits to rank and merits are only given to helpful posts and answers
how can i earn with low rank?
It's already obvious that the only reason your are here is to make money, if you want to make money on the forum then you can offer services that you know you are good at or join social media bounty campaigns.

It's users like this who I think would really benefit from the Welcome Message that theymos has previously talked about. Literally his first post ever on the forum and all he wants to know is how to rank up and start monetizing his account as fast as possible. No interest in contributing to the forum, or learning, or discussing, or sharing ideas, or even reading the rules. Just straight to "How do I use/abuse this forum to enrich myself?"

A lot of people come here primarily looking to make money. The forum administration is very happy that people are able to use the forum in order to better themselves; indeed, one of the reasons for Bitcoin's creation was to break the artificial barriers which prevent so many people around the world from attaining prosperity. However, if your attempts to make money conflict with the forum's primary goal of enabling discussion, then you are swimming upstream, and you will not be sucessful in the end.

If you view the forum as some sort of "job" where you complete some basic tasks and get paid, then you will almost certainly be disappointed, and the forum administration will not be sympathetic. If you do make money using the forum, then it will be through innovation and entrepreneurship, not any sort of mindless busywork.

<…> After being Member, you will need merits from other people to increase your rank. Activity will not be enough to increase rank.

To rank up there are two factors that matter that are merits and the other is activities.

Activity based on the basis of your posting. You can read about it in detail in the below threads:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17192288
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-definitive-explanation-of-how-activity-works-495948

And the other factor is merit which needs to be earned. There is not rule book that can define how do you earn it but, What I understand is merit is received only when worth information are shared which can help the users of the community.

Every rank has a specific combination of merit and activity required and that is well explained by @theymos
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/merit-new-rank-requirements-2818350

Last but not the least while acheiving these merits or activity you need to maintain some disciplinary rules of the forum. Violation of which can cause temp or permanent bans. You can refer to the rules in the thread below:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657

Liked your initiative it is always good to read and then start.

You should post messages regularly. By doing that, you will increase your activity. You will be Jr. Member when you reach 30 activity. After that, when you reach 60 activity you will be Member. After being Member, you will need merits from other people to increase your rank. Activity will not be enough to increase rank.

And if you have a valuable or rare crypto item, I am sure you can earn a lot of money by selling it on our collectibles thread:
The collectibles thread is for auction or selling rare crypto goods/products.
You can visit collectibles thread here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0

And participating on giveaways or airdrop will sure make you a profit. some of them give a lot of money and usually some are not that good, but it's for free! so you have nothing to lose Smiley
That is all I know, But there's a lot more things to do to earn here in bitcointalk as a low rank member! Smiley
