Alright cool. Thanks man for the help.

That is what this adapter is for in post #2, But Dargo and I are un sure if my posted image riser will still work.

I have a bunch of those pci-e extenders, in fact I have made a decision to shut down one of my miners and sell off the cards to by a BFL single.

I could send you some (I will have (2) x16-x16 and (2) x1-x16) for cheap say 0.5 BTC including first-class postage ,if in the USA. IF outside the USA it might cost more in postage then to just order from a vendor.

Edit: 0.5 for 1 of them.  Cheesy

If anyone else could, let me know if that riser I posted above would work, let me know. Be cool if it does.

Looking at the PCI-E slot on that riser, I do not see how it would work with a GPU, it looks like some kind of custom slot.

Notice the non-slotted areas between the slotted areas, GPUS have one edge with one notch towards the front.

Yes, the molex goes to your psu (12v). I have no idea what that riser is that you have.

And for that molex, it gets plugged into the psu?

Will this work for the riser? I had this laying around.

To run off the x1 pcie slot, you need this (or a similar cable from another supplier)

http://cablesaurus.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=10

Some motherboards require pin shorting to make the x1 slots work - here is a thread about that

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-of-motherboard-that-require-shorting-pin-a1-b17-for-pci-e-1x-to-work-36061

To run off the pci slot, you need this

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10304&cs_id=1030406&p_id=7001&seq=1&format=2

and this

The above reflects the precaution that you should use a pcie extender cable with molex for running off of the pci slot to avoid pulling too much power through the pci slot. I'm currently using a pci slot for my 5th GPU using the Monoprice adapter + Cablesaurus riser with molex, and it works perfect for me on a Biostar A870U3 mobo.

I do not know where to start, cablesaurus has quite a few different adapter options to go with, I never gone through this before.

If I were to mine off of my PCI slot, what adapter would I need? and any precautions I should take?

I've got a ASRock Z75 pro3 1155 board. It has two regular PCI slots and one PCIe x1 slot.
