Hi, friend! I think some of these articles might be useful for you:

If you're a beginner in Blockchain: ~snipped
Transitioning from Web2 to Web3: ~snipped
Making the perfect pitch for your startup: ~snipped

I hope my answer helps Smiley

Nah!!! None of them are related to Op's problem, Op said he need help building a simple webpage and not migrate or do anything concerning Blockchain or web3 so I don't see any reason why you suggested those links for Op. You could have recommended sites like WordPress and since Op stated that time is not a factor that should be considered which means even if it's to learn the whole HTML5 he won't mind.

I advise you to use Divi on Wordpress. Divi is the flagship product on Elegant themes, one of the most innovative WordPress theme shops around. Divi Builder, which was added in Divi 4.0, allows you to create your website on the frontend in real time.
In other words, you see your changes as they are made, which eliminates repeated trips to the server, saving you a lot of time.
All elements of the page are easily customizable; it's all point and click. If you want to move items, there is a drag and drop function at your disposal.

To begin with, I would advise you to familiarize yourself with the topic of web programming in general (read articles, watch videos). If you don’t like coding, but you still need a website (for various reasons), then I advise you to turn to professionals in web development https://tech-stack.com/services/custom-software-development

The most important even not html5 and css, the key of site interactivity is java script. You can check my website as reference. https://www.cryptocorrelator.com/
If you want to build a good looking unique and responsive website, you must not use any CMO and third party libraries.
You need to design website from scratch, so start to learn JavaScript.

You can create a website for free in just a few minutes. However, there are limitations to this and you may not be 100% satisfied with the outcome of tossing something up in matter of minutes.  in most cases, you can expect to spend at least three to five days building your website. the exact amount of time depends on the complexity of what your creating and how fast you master the platform. but its a good baseline to have in mind if you're creating your first website.

Hi, in my opinion to create a website is easier than someone could think. I see different comments about to create it through Wordpress or Squarespace, etc. However, it would be better for you to create your own website from the scratch because of you will be able to control all about your website, from the content to the design. Taking into account that you have the basis of HTML and CSS code, it would be so easy for you. My tip is that you should search for any website template and study the code and the reason why the developer are employer each part of the code. I think this is the best way to learn how to design a website and to obtain your best!

Talking about my experience, some years ago I created my first webpages (feom the scratch) and having no knowledge of HTML nor CSS, but the result was better than expected. Nowadays, I have created more than 10 websites. For that reason, I think that the best way is to keep in mind that you are able to do it and start the website from the scratch.

Hope the comment was useful for you! For sure, do not hesitate to PM me if you need any help.

I want to create a simple website for my crypto-related startup project. I know the basics of HTML and CSS code, but I've never created a web site before. What I want is a simple but professional looking responsive design with simple navigation.

What do you guys think?
Should I hire a professional website designer for such a website?
What are some recommended website design tools?

Please note, my time spent on this project is not a problem, there are no deadlines.

You should definitely seek professional help. Even if you are using wordpress style platforms, it will never look professional. If you don't need the backend, you won't be charged too high. I can support you in this regard. If you request, you can send me a private message.

I guess OP is lost in vain. He wants an elegant and responsive design but on wordpress and he isn't capable of doing this by himself.

we do not know this and cannot claim that he is lost in vain. Also, we do not know how much is he capable of. he showed us nothing until now. I know some web designers from the beginning and also they knew nothing, it seemed as if they had no capability. but they still reached some level. So, everyone has their own start.
It's good that he asked for a suggestion here, but he also respects them. I guess he wants to learn, so any suggestion of "hire someone" is missed point in this thread.

As I mentioned before, I am a web developer myself, so this may seem like a conflict of interest, but I support anyone who wants to do something on their own. Hiring someone is not always the correct course of action. That way nobody would ever learn anything. It's about freedom of choice.

@Iron Fist, if you're still reading, please don't hesitate to ask for help when you get stuck. I'm happy to help if I can.

Once again, you do not need to know PHP or any other server-side programming language to build a professional looking website. And no one can convince me otherwise, since I have been in the website development business for over 25 years. This is not about dynamically generated content, but rather front-end design.

So, if you're still not convinced of the power of HTML5 and CSS3, take a look at some of the examples from awards sites like awwwards:
https://www.awwwards.com/websites/css3/

Well - with all due respect - then you mean to download a ready made page? What does this have to do with designing a site without programming languages?

The site you referred to, I can call it a "service" whether it is free or not, but it has nothing to do is that you can program web pages without a "programming language", They are just already made websites by developers and the tool has UI allow you to edit the., A paid service can do all that for you. I just referred for OP to use paid service for a better result.

In all due respect, I must say that you have no clue what you're talking about.  Wink

The website I was referring to has absolutely nothing to do with ready-made templates. It is not a paid service but a showcase gallery of some of the best sites on the Internet.
"Awwwards are the Website Awards that recognize and promote the talent and effort of the best developers, designers and web agencies in the world."

It would be great if I could show you some of the award-winning websites my company did but this is neither the place nor the time, because I do not want to promote anyone here, and I prefer anonymity.

I respect your opinion, but OP has indicated that he wants a professional site...

Actually he described the website as simple but with professional looking responsive design. Although this can be interpreted in different ways, from what I understand, he probably wants to make a simple landing page with information about his startup.

... What I want is a simple but professional looking responsive design with simple navigation.

...there are actually many ways without dealing with PHP, but whatever it is, programming is not that easy, known that and CSS; is trivial, but when you want a "professional site" It turns out completely the opposite. Since OP wants a site for his project (not a personal site), He has said himself that he knows the basics of HTML and CSS which is not enough for "Pro website", then of course it is best to hire an expert, because this is a work, not a play.

If you think to doing by your self, may be use a CMS like Wordpress is enought for you. With Wordpress, You can try to building a website on your local server first. You can design as much as you like there.

For a professional design, you can buy a premium template on themeforest.net and install it on your local server. Usually a premium template include tutorial how to setting their template with your self.

When you think you has finish your web, you can rent a hosting and a domain like hostinger.com so that your website can run on the internet.

With Wordpress, may be you can create your prefessional web easly.

I follow this thread from the beginning and as far as I understand, OP wants to create a website by himself. He is a beginner in web development, for now, he just wants to learn more about web design technique. Also, is aware that a professional website will not come from the first version.
it is always the best solution and the easiest to hire experts, but sometimes people want to learn something new.
I guess OP is lost in vain. He wants an elegant and responsive design but on wordpress and he isn't capable of doing this by himself.

OP, I suggest you to have a look at themes on Themeforest or Envato Elements (or always check if anything you liked on Themeforest is available on Envato Elements cause this last one offers you unlimited access on their products for $16.50 months.

With the help of elementor, you can modify templates more likely the way you wish. I guess what you want is just a "landing page", so, html/css can be enough for you and you don't need to stick with wordpress.

Your HTML and CSS experience is not enough to make a website at least that has a contact form. You need PHP with them, so if you do not intend to learn PHP, you will not be able to reach your goal without hiring a programmer/service (price starting from 30$, depending on the functions that will be provided by the site).

I disagree with that. Your HTML and CSS experience might just be enough to create a fully functional website. HTML and CSS are the basic tools that all web developers start with and you don't need anything fancy to create a simple website.
After all, this is how we all did it before the age of dynamic websites and fancy front-end libraries started.

Of course, if you want to deal with contact forms, you'll need some server-side programming as well. Any server-side programming language would do, not just PHP. You could also opt for a third-party service or a ready-made script that integrates easily into your website. As a quick and dirty solution, you could even use Google Forms connected to a Google Sheet.

All I want to say is that, depending on the type of website and its intent, contact forms aren't always necessary. Many businesses, for example, already use chatbots and live chat to communicate with their customers on their websites.

Thank you so much, FatFork and examplens. I tested both the WordPress Theme Detector and the Wappalyzer extensions, and they are both excellent. While Wappalyzer is a more powerful tool that lets you identify the web technologies used on websites, WordPress Theme Detector is more WordPress focused and will assist you in analyzing WP features such as the theme and plugins used on the website.
