I think blockchain gaming technology will take advantage of NFT and metaverse as many companies are now starting to recognize these two.  We all know that MMORPG is one that attracts lots of players because of the socialization aspect of the game.  So I think MMORPG will evolve to the Metaverse concept with NFT to capitalize on blockchain technology.
agreed but I think the success of these kind of games depends in the technology, the main thing that holds most from using metaverse is the fact that it somewhat needs you to have the right equipment like vr equipments etc which not many actually has and it's also such luxury equipment since not many could afford. once these metaverse project could solve that, i'm sure popularity of metaverse will sky rocket and will become huge success.

do you believe that blockchain gaming will gain more traction?
There will no question about that blockchain  gaming will gain more attractive in 2030.  Because the decentralized system of block chain keeps us away from a centralized control and hence its popularity is increasing day by day. Currently, a lot of work has been started on block chain gaming and it is expected that in the future almost all games will be included in the block chain system.

I think in the future blockchain games will always increase in demand, in this millennial era there are lots of people who like to play games.
One of the factors that interesting is the play to earn mechanism, where playing games can add sources of income.
and now many investors are looking and pouring funds to develop blockchain games.
maybe blockchain game enthusiasts in the future will explode, but it depends on how the blockchain game industry makers develop and innovate in the future.

do you believe that blockchain gaming will gain more traction?

I am not really sure if blockchain implementation will really be a big thing for blockbuster video games in the future to be honest. I am a PC gamer for many years now and in my personal experience "real" gamers are very much against the implementation of the blockchain and NFTs into their favorite games and i have to say i can totally understand that point of view. I don't know a single play 2 earn game that is fun to play because those games are designed around tokens and the play 2 earn aspect and not around being a fun game.
It was only a sort of hyping condition in which P2E games gains more attention than the usual games we played. But guess what, real gamers will stay to the games they were preferred for as this P2E is just temporary. In fact, after the surge most of them are gone now, and look, players are leaving as well for they are not happy anymore. People are just playing for money, not because they are pleased to do it - that is simple. And if we think this will still gaining attention by 2030, that was uncertain.

It will definitely be. Look at what is happening now. There are many different games and some of them are developing and interest the community with different bonuses. I follow some games industry projects with NFTs and in-game tokens. Let's see which of them will survive in the competition and find their admirer.

What is promising on the current situation of blockchain gaming. All the project including the powerhouse Axie is down more than 100% since all time high and the rest of the small caps games is almost dead or zero value tokens. There is no one buying anymore on this kind of game since its not profitable of the token value itself is worthless.

I’m not expecting that gaming industry will pump again on that high level but I’m sure that there will be new idea that will be better than this that will create the hype again in crypto.

do you believe that blockchain gaming will gain more traction?

I'm sure that the Gaming blockchain trend will be more popular, gamers will certainly not waste the opportunity for earnings, and it is proven that the most popular game today is Mobile Legends because it has proven to be a place to make money.
I expect to see more from Blockchain games in years coming and I know that there would have been a lots of adjustments and better features in them soon. Since technology is growing faster than we think then we should expect more innovation from Blockchain gaming projects. Investors have now started seeing another means of making extra cash from play to earn games rather than using there funds in going fully on betting.
I see the more interesting updates coming in the gaming world and I am very convinced that more investors including gamblers would see a big opportunity in making earnings from it.

The development of technology is often a great concern of people's mind. The way current gaming sites have progressed, it is very difficult to predict where they will go in the near future, especially in 2030. Because seeing that any new application doesn't attract users after few days. They are attracted to more advanced technologies. In this regard we see that currently people are more attracted to the web3 technology.
Unfortunately the advancement of technology doesn't come without costs neither. All those games you play on your phone, or games on your computer, all those are built with 2 important aspects of finance, first of all, it is the building part where the development teams would need great computers to build it, is it possible to build a game without great machinery? It is, but it wouldn't be a great game by design, it needs to be great in idea, and secondly most of the games that you play would need to be played on great machines as well, and as we all know GPU prices are high.

So, it would definitely be with cost, and that’s why it’s not as quick as it can be, if these were cheap stuff, everyone would have it, and everyone would have a chance to do something amazing, but only a select few with the finances to do it can.

Actually I am not sure the blockchain -based game will still survive until 2030 with a lot of fans like today, if the game is more inofative and more challenging I think it will last a long time if boring will be abandoned by the user
agreed the future of blockchain gaming actually heavily depends in the game itself like whether the game is actually good and isn't just some random games that attracts users solely from its reward.
If the game could competes with the famous games in term of quality i'm sure in 2030 blockchain gaming will be huge.

Yes, blockchain gaming will continue to grow. Play-to-earn games will continue to grow despite a lot of setbacks happening with most of the games having a hard time balancing their economies. I think some developers will come up soon with better systems that are capable of surviving for many years. The rewards probably are minimal compared to the current NFT P2E games that are mostly for money purposes hyped by its devs.

A game like PUBG is earning billions of dollars yearly. Imagine if it's a blockchain P2E game and is willing to reward like $100 million for its top 10,000 players?

That was 8 years from now and it was uncertain. Well, I'm not going it say it was still attractive as many online games are created almost every day. Yet, promoting P2E games seems to be one that hyped crytpo games but I was not sure if this still many gamers will take this after a huge decline of it now. However, I was still positive that this platform will still exist in the crypto world putting games into blockchain technology but yes, we can't assure also that people or gamers will adopt this.

It may take at least as many years for blockchain games to be fully adopted as bitcoin before these tokens have high value and go beyond trivial speculation. The main problem with such games is that investors are more likely to pull liquidity from some game than they are providers. As a result, the price of a token collapses as sales prevail over purchases. In the next 5-8 years, this industry may evolve a lot and there will be some foundations and benchmarks, but for now, all these blockchain games are not much different from each other, as they all depreciate equally fast over time and quickly lose interest among players.
The tokens will probably not be used like that. Many people imagine games where tens of thousands of people, even millions of people play, and then there is a in game currency that is a token, and it will be amazing thanks to that, but as long as it has financial value the games will not be played for being games, it will be played for money and that will always ruin the economy of it as well. Do not imagine some world of warcraft scenario where you will make a lot of money from just gamers, it is not going to happen.

If you offer even 3 dollars a day for playing, that 90 dollars is a great amount for many people around the world, which is why it is such a hard concept.

Then projects and ecosystems should create a system that will encourage players not to withdraw all liquidity from games, or developers should write smart contracts that will block part of the earnings within the game economy, thereby protecting the token price from a rapid collapse. Also, minting and token burning systems should be designed more carefully. Often game projects face the problem that burning is quite slow and game tokens become inflationary.
There must be effective securirty measures against bots and multi accounts as well. The environment must be friendly to casual players and not only the usual addicted ones who destroy the sustainability of the game for being greedy and too egoistical to understand everyone needs to profit from the game, so it can survive for longer. People won't play a game they don't feel it's rewarding and entertaining.

unfortunatelly developers don't care about these points, because they already profit through another ways, like selling packages with extra benefits for buyers. And that seems enough for them.

Yes blockchain gaming could make a big name in the future or fail shamefully, it's a big risk that's worth taking, we won't know it's outcome until time have past, I think big gaming companies will still be here and they can take over in the future, the reason why Microsoft Xbox haven't look into web 3 gaming yet is because it's not needy to them at this time, maybe things will change some day.
