For me it is harder to rank up because of the merit system. But this merit system will benefit the while forum since those who are posting nonsense response will no longer rank up.

This is Woterry merit status: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1770078
He receive 6 merit from Woterry (https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/woterry-1770078) with simple and nonsense posts.
This 2 member join the same signature campaign. This is not coincidence, Mod take a deep look at this 2 account, maybe the same owner, simple check ip.
Please bro stop this action of your because it will not help you get that merit. Strive like the OP says to earn that merit yourself.

I am not here to argue but like to let you know have been speaking English since I was born and its my 36th  years
That's even worse, then--but not surprising, since I come across native English speakers who can't write a coherent sentence to save their life.

probably before your mama and your papa came together.
Nope.

he can only get such from a friend, the ranking is now difficult  for new members. I thought it would  get to this but not this difficult.
And soon he will run out of friends, or they will run out of sMerits.  This is as it should be.  The only reason you and others like you think it's difficult is because you suck at writing in a language that's not your own, but there are many people on this forum who can write in English even though it's not their first language.  It's not the fault of the system; it's not the fault of senior members here; it's your own fault.

it is so hard people with higher ranks are bz doing campaign they are forgetting us
We're not forgetting a thing.  You are intentionally being denied merit because none of you can write proper English.
I am so sorry not to beleive this. I hope they revisit the merit system. It is good but not the best. Imagine the merit he got from his friend from a old post. he can only get such from a friend, the ranking is now difficult  for new members. I thought it would  get to this but not this difficult.
Its becoming so hard for the newbies, juniors, members to rank up though they do provide quality posts. Yes, the quality of the posts have increased now than it was before the merit system was bought in but still merits are yet to be given for the quality posts made. Hope if the merit requirement for next rank gets reduced then it would be a fantastic system.

A shitty merit, i have never seen anyone who can get a rnk rise from Full member to Senior Member, let alone Senior member to Hero or Legendary, if the forum dont want to let user get a rank up, why not cancel the rank immediately?

Actually, there are members that have ranked up on the rank levels you mention after the merit system was introduced. So far as I’ve been able to work out:

4  Hero Members (from Sr. Member)
18 Sr. Members (from Full Member)
39 Full Members (from Member, 3 of them from lower ranks)
975 Members (from Jr Members or lower).

I don’t want to repeat the links to the 22 top rank members here, but they are posted on the meta section this week.

True that the feat is way more difficult for the higher ranks, but feasible in principle.

I think all of the newbies here will answer “really really hard”...

Let me tell you something. I started joining bitcointalk ever since this new merit system was implemented. So you can probably call me as one of the “lucky” ones starting with zero merits in our pockets. The key is to research well, learn about how the world of crypto works, and learn how the system here works. By then I wasn’t that sure that I have a future here, but here I am now.

My rank is not that high, but let me tell you something. For each time you rank up, you will be so proud of yourself and so excited to get to the next rank. And everything else will follow. With this merit system, you will strive to learn, research, and create quality posts for the benefit of the community. Yes it’s hard to earn merits, but it will mold you to strive for your best.

Instead of crying about how hard the new merit system is for the newbies, why not make it a strength for you to strive. That’s what i did. Good luck newbies, don’t give up. I’m so happy I was able to get this far. I just got ranked up today as a member, but as of now I still call myself a newbie, that’s what strives me to work hard here.
First, I want to say, congrats buddy to rank up and I am sure you will be able to advance more and more as long as you keep posting good posts in this forum.
According to the merit system, It's true that earning merit is not easy at all, but everyone who wants to rank up and gain some potential here, they should try to improve their posts and make the community better. I was thinking, if people forget about merit points and just focus to help, share and receive knowledge about the cryptocurrencies fields and will be more involved in this forum, sooner or later they can rank up.

This is the crux of the matter. Instead of complaining, looking for short cuts, soliciting for merits. Go do research. Make quality post and leave the rest for review.

Even if I spent the last 22 days of my life in this forum I can understand why every new account created is so eager to receive merit, basically I only received 18 merit since it was presented in the community so technically if I created my account by the time the merit was implemented I will only rank to member for god sake. However they will not receive any merit because it is either they were already on ignore list of merit sources or their post is brilliantly shining like you can't even look at it.

It seems the fate of this community depends on their merit score how sad is it to think of it so I agree it was hard to rank up.

Its not really hard, i would say its impossible. I want to see the user who can collect 100 merits to reach full member status.

There are quite a few members who have been awarded over 100 merits. It really isn't hard if you follow the tips in the many guides that have been posted, but people don't do it. If you aren't earning merit, then you need to change your mindset. For example, I corrected the spelling in the quoted post - the red underline drew my attention to it. The poster could have done that, if he had read his post as he was typing it. Check your post before you hit 'post', and then read it again after it has been accepted. If you can't be bothered to do basic checks like this, then don't expect to receive any merits.

What I understood is it is nothing to do with ranking to be up, you have to participate in the signature campaign with the same rank now already there is no chance to grow in the rank up.

Its not realy hard, i would say its impossible. I want to see the user who can collect 100 merits to reach full member status. So yes you can take your time and post some good stuff here. But the problem is, nobody will every see you post. Because the most of them are just spaming the thread full to get their count for their bounty campaign. So if you post some good stuff, seconds after there are so many new post over your post, and nobody read it. So the best way to rank up is to buy a high rank in the marketplace.

The same here situation if you are talking rank up, even me I stuck in member rank.
It fell's like we have a good profit even i reached a full member rank, but that scenario was not on my mind as long as I enjoy contributing a good quality post here in the forum.

The reason why worry too much about how to earn smerits it because of fear of exploring in the forum and not to try other section that to post genuine and helpful post. Not only in signature campaigns and in any other campaign you can earn, we can learn to trade here by reading selected posts that we think are right. Because it focuses on sig camps and any other campaigns, do not try another way to earn. Try to post a Quality instead of Waiting for someone to give us merits, waiting in vain while the best option is enjoying and sharing legit information while not knowing that we are earning with smerits.

YES! we can do this.

I feel you bro. I'm also one of the lucky ones who reached this position in a short period of time but now I'm telling the truth, I also struggle for gaining Merits but still I don't give a fuck on how hard it is as I was truly struggling is for my language to be understandable by my fellow humans.
As of now, I've been working on my feet just to learn new things from this forum and with the help of other people I am earning what I have been needing this lately
And for the newbies out there, let this be a challenge for you, if we can achieve this shits then you can also. Just don't fuck it up, also suck it with your prides on the line. YOU CAN DO IT!

Haha. Looks interesting, guy!
Your post-history completely show me shits. Your threads tend to concentrate on altcoins child boards (altcoin discussions, announcements, bounties, etc.) and most of them are one line threads.
In addition, you have gotten 247 acitivities now, that means you should be ranked up to Senior Member with old ranking system. Due to magical rules of new ranking requirements and merit system, you have been stucked at Full member rank.
Moreover, one interesting thing about you is around 3 months after the launching day of merit system, you have not received any merit point.
Haha, I guess it due to your extremely 'constructive, high-quality' threads.

You should be stucked at Full member rank forever, which will be better for the forum.

Congratulations, bro.!

Just an observation on an alternative meaning of the word 'rank'

From the Oxford dictionary - Very unpleasant. ‘the tea at work is nice, but the coffee is pretty rank’

So to answer the question about why many posts aren't awarded merit. It's because they are pretty rank in  my opinion.

some pleasant posts aren't even awarded merits. So, it's not difficult to rank up, it's just..... random .... depending on who reads your 'smart' posts and if they feel generous.
