If it's about value just sell him the domain that's both an adult and business wise way to handle this as opposed to an electronic pissing contest.
Getting the password reset on the domain account and transferring it to him is not worth the value he could give me. It would be a sacrifice. Again, I never sacrifice. You sacrifice your image carrying on this way, as it is since you have to do the reset, which is a painless process in most cases ask for a reasonable price for your time
