Start buying bitcoin now until the price is cheap, you must need more than 100 BTC because you never know what will happen with the value of Bitcoin, how many do you need if the value is really low later in the future.
So it is of course hard to predict how many you need to retire in 20 years, but I think for sure, you will need a lot of coins.

agree with you, better we prepare more bitcoin, as much as possible, my plan to reach 100BTC too.
and im sure i can reach it in 20years Roll Eyes

Lol if we want to retire in about 20 years we all need allot of bitcoins for  now the price is only 600 each. But we dont know how much he would be in the future so we dont exactly know how many we need to retire.

Just try to accumulate as much as you can.
Speculating about what the price will be in so or so many years won't bring you even further.
If you are convinced that Bitcoin and the concept of an open Blockchain will be the key to success than just try to get as much as possible, without risking all what you have of course!!
I think we need to have at least a target on how much we need for 20 years considered as our future retirement, in such way we can do our budgeting on how much we will allocate per month.

Lets say I want to buy bitcoins today and store them for 20 years to use a my retirement fund.  Live comfortably, but don't need to buy a yacht or anything.  How many do you think I would need to buy?

You'll need around $2.5 million in current USD figures to buy yourself a comfortable retirement, and if you choose to retire early. So that equates to around 4,000 Bitcoins right now.

But I believe that bitcoin will surge in value and the price of services and goods relative to BTC will reduce dramatically. I would say around 500 BTC is enough.
You could cut your budget significantly if you choose to retire in a tropical country in Asia, like Thailand or Philippines. Retiring in these countries doesn't require a person to be rich and the tropical weather makes retired life more enjoyable rather than the punishing cold weather of US.

Lol If i really want to retire in about 20 years i need to invest allot of money into bitcoins will i make that 20 years. I dont think it can happen only if the price of the bitcoin rise that much...

Yeah, you really need to have a lot of money into bitcoins before retiring for 20 years. But we don't know what will happen in the fluctuation of price
to bitcoin that's why we can't say how much we need for 20 years, because it can the value $10000 or even as low as $1 after 20 years.

If you want to live comfortably in retirement, bitcoins are the wrong place to look. Check the history. They've been going down in value all year!

Invest in FacebookCoin or whatever it's going to be called, or maybe just invest in a low cost index fund (since you're talking 20 years down the road).

Umm, check the history?  perhaps you can go back more than a few months?  I think the overall return on Bitcoin has been pretty good.  from a few cents to over $400 in a few year years?  Has any investment in our lifetime been that good?

Facebookcoin?  Really?  You would trust hard earned money in an account with the kind of "security" Facebook is known for?   Huh

Lol it's beyond my expectations I think altcoin just a complement of bitcoin. I think there is no future for one altcoin dude ? altcoin will come and go and altcoin will die and then be replaced by another altcin. very risky if you use altcoin for investment in the future ?
I think altcoin would not survive in the future, but maybe you need very many bitcoin in this regard. probably more than 10 BTC, and maybe we need more than 50 BTC to become rich in the
I think altcoin will last continuously follows bitcoin but will continue altcoin replaced by new ones. litecoin probably will survive but not so popular and the price probably will not be too big. I'm sure the new altcoin will start replacing old altcoin and it will occur continuously. therefore you should be careful in investing in altcoin

Any investment should be carefully evaluated prior to putting your hard earned money to it, I can see some good potential for altcoins in the future but you need to be careful and select the best and trusted developers, I could recommend the waves.

Roll Eyes many coins, i am sure that if you want not to work, your amount of bitcoins will be not enough for you. So i don't really know what amount of coins you need, more than 500.
i dont even think that the one will retire really need 500 BTC. it's must be very high lifestyle
just assure that BTC rate is $600 or more, i think we just need only 150~300 BTC from my prediction

I think it is difficult to estimate the bitcoin you need, because only you know your needs. But I feel more secure if your money is in the form usd, because it is too risky to use bitcoin for long-term as 20 years. thank you

Well man maybe just buy what you can afford to lose because bitcoin can be at 10000$ or more after 20years or without value so buy what you can afford to lose  Grin
Lol if you think that bitcoin could rise as high as it was by your predictions. Why you should buy what you can afford to lose? if you think that the price of bitcoin was high in the future. then there is no doubt for me. and I will buy bitcoin as much as I can. and I will fill it up to the future
