Lately, politicians have not limited their activities to fighting for political offices and positions but rather have dived into so many other sectors such as interest in Tech and cryptocurrency as we have seen lately with some global leaders getting to the center stage in both tech and cryptocurrency.

My question is, do we have any notable casino that is been run or owned by any known politician like Trump or another leader?
All politicians are businessmen like Trump. Donald Trump is a businessman and currently he is very close to Elon Musk so he can do various activities. And he has now publicly shown a lot of seriousness about crypto, which is why he created meme coins in his name before he was sworn in as president. However, it is very rare for a government to publicly own a casino and I have yet to see a casino owned by the president of a country. Casino sites always make people losers instead of making them profitable so it would never be admirable for a president to build a casino site.

This is very rare but one thing i know is there is no sector you won't find politicians investing in. Even if they are not owners of the companies then there are strong stakeholders and shareholders of that company. The gambling industry is printing money so i know some politicians have invested in it. However, i dont think they will want to be the sole owner of any casino based on reputation issues. They will rather choose to remain anonymous owners.

Yes, politicians are known for putting their money into different things, although I don't really know about politicians owning casinos because it's not really popular in Nigeria. In this county politicians are known for embezzlement of funds so they put those stolen funds into good use to create a source of generational wealth. Like you said they might not be owners of the company but they might buy shares, I think some politicians in Nigeria invest in bet9ja, that's the information I got few years back, I didn't take it seriously but now I know that there's a possibility In that. They would rather become anonymous owners of these casinos or stake holders just like you mentioned because there's a lot of money in this business.

And others are protectors of illegal gambling where they have a percentage or shares in the profits of a casino gambling business and until now
there are still such officials who are just good at hiding.
That is the point of why some people want to enter politics because there is easy money there. They use their position as caretaker of illegal activities because we know that once their name is mentioned, they are safe. Sad to say, but the reality comes out that money is so powerful this time, which could easily manipulate the system.
Honestly, none of them will tell you that they own a casino nor admit that they are protectors of any casino. In fact, there is no need to make their own because they can already receive money from them.

As of the numbers ,  I think it has to be low because of the kind of business they are into  and its not in their best interest Roll Eyes

They can’t be politicians, but they can definitely be donors to politicians. Running for public office while owning a casino is a clear conflict of interest, it wouldn’t sit well with voters. However, casino owners, especially the big players, make sure to back politicians because they need protection for their business. You know how it goes with this type of industry, it’s easy to find faults or controversies. That’s why having a powerful ally is crucial to keeping things running smoothly.

Exactly, that’s what smart businessmen do, they finance politicians and focus on running their business. If they were to become politicians while managing a huge casino, it would make them easy targets for their opponents and could put their business at risk. It’s just not worth it.

In some countries, politics can get really dirty. Those who know how to play with the law often come out on top. So, if you already have a casino business to run and protect, diving into politics would only add unnecessary stress and could potentially ruin everything you’ve worked hard to build.

Honestly, there are many politicians in our country who are also very good at gambling, the kind that make you think they will never run out of money, when you think about where the money they are losing comes from, you will only think that those who are addicted to this are corrupt officials.

And others are protectors of illegal gambling where they have a percentage or shares in the profits of a casino gambling business and until now
there are still such officials who are just good at hiding.

That simply goes to show that man's want is endless and insatiable. Everyone wants to keep amassing whatever they can lay their hands on in terms of wealth and that's why we will continue to see those that have always in the struggle to expand the frontiers of their businesses, and also branch into whatever businesses they think are in vogue. It's not a surprising thing.

But of course, there are a lot of them, only that most of them run those businesses through proxy.

As we know in our country, some news emerges with politicians/officials involved in casino ownership or control so this will continue to be a public assumption that is difficult to uncover.

So this will be difficult to prove, it's just that the narrative continues to develop while the government is still filled with them so it's difficult to uncover it.
It is indeed difficult to reveal because they have lost their traces easily.
use someone else as a substitute Doll and when there is a case of arrest they can be free easily.

Our country is indeed quite slow to deal with problems like this because there are too many people who work and manipulate everything.
So that illegal gambling or gambling that is even built by politicians or government figures is growing rapidly without being controlled.

Of course, they can easily lobby the interests of other political people and thereby create favorable conditions for themselves in creating casinos. And also easily evade taxes. It is a shame that they will have colossal profits while it is the poor people who will suffer who will lose in casinos, in which they will not be able to prove anything in their rightness.
After all, the owners of these casinos are powerful people who make up the laws themselves.

I have always thought that the best places to launder money based on reading and movies are casinos 🎰,  churches ⛪️ and the alike and if politicians are in the business of owning gambling fronts..to be honest,
we should be worried especially if they are holding public office as it's easy for them to conceal any kickbacks and bad deals going on which pretty much screams corruption etcetera.

I mean, Donald Trump literally used to own casinos. But that was well before he went into politics, now he's just into real estate, meme coins, social media stock, and merchandise.
You can't really know if he only upfronted those listed business to shifts people attention from him, because as a reputable man in the political society, much is expected from him including not promoting gambling or betting that may leed many youths astray. So if he is actively doing such business and campaignimg as a politician then it will affect his political career. This makes me to somehow believe that he may still be doing it in disguise to protect his dignity and reputation. There is alot of money in becoming a casino owner and no one is willing to give up just because of one thing, they will only act silent and still making money behind close doors.

Well I don't think he is hiding any gambling operations, now he is doing it all public facing hence $TRUMP lmao. Trump went bankrupt in early 2000 I believe it was becasue of his gambling businesses that just had too much overhead and he couldn't keep them afloat. It all worked out for Donald though, he is the self proclaimed master of debt! Good to have one of those on board the USA Oval Office because last time I check we are in debt so far up our ass we can't even see anymore hahahha. I highly doubt that Trump is doing any shady business & if he did he's not anymore because he is not just in the public eye he is the most famous public figure in the world and he can't afford to be brought down by shady business while he is trying to fix the shady business that is America.

It's even rare to learn who owns a casino since it's not usually run and own by a single person, it's always a joint project/ownership, how much more for a politician. Most politicians don't reveal their businesses unless they are known of doing it before running in office. Bank accounts, businesses always name to their known relatives, friends, etc. so no, it's rare to learn politicians to have such business, they might knew someone as a friend or them as an investor to a casino, or just a protector.

Your question has nothing to do with the description on the thread opener.  Cheesy
Anyway, I think there is no way to reveal the data of how many politicians having casinos. If it is in my country, the politician must be ashamed if people know it. So, they must make it very secretly. Since it is probably a secret data, we will never know the valid numbers of the politicians who runs the casinos. However, I'm not sure if there are many of them because casinos aren't popular business among them. They may prefer something that are more familiar such as properties, lands, gold, or crypto coins.

Even if there is I doubt if it will be a public information for everyone to be aware of at the moment because they wouldn't want to create an impression out there in the public space until they probably get to the point where they are out of office and are no longer going to have too many effects emanating from been associated with such but in the mean time, they aren't going to come out publicly or make it know to the public they ow any of such.

Gambling is a huge industry, but it doesn’t seem to mix well with politicians owning casinos, as it’s not viewed positively by the public. Especially for the poor, they might see the casino as just a way to take money from people, making the politicians richer while the rest struggle. It’s definitely not good for their public image.

There might be politicians who own casinos, but they probably keep it under wraps to maintain their reputation and avoid backlash from their constituents.

I think some of those people don’t own casinos directly but the hotels they own some casino-like places in them. If you see it like that, they own hotels, not casinos on paper so it is hard to come up with a real number.

I also don’t see what you are going to do with that information anyway.

Some politicians own some casinos and so what? Is it illegal for politicians to own casinos? No, then why care?

Ask which politicians are making trades on insider knowledge instead. I heard Nancy Pelosi has mastered her art and she can get away with it because of that.
This actually is the business model nowadays. They make hotels and inside of it has an operating casino. It could be a partner of the owner of the hotel that manages that and that could be it for the politicians. You're right, they own some shares and holdings with the hotels operation but it could be a different owner or partner for the casino. Because owning the entire thing cost them a lot of money and most of these establishments are organizational that has this business organization that consists of a lot of people and right, no one cares if it's owned by a politician. They'll just think of it that guy is already rich to establish a business and they can always pay the fine if it's against the principle being a public official and I doubt they'd drop and sell their shares or if they do, it's all talk.

American politics is not so clear and perfect as some people believe though, even if politicians in our country are actually extremely corrupt to the point of owning entire store is and malls around the nation, it does not mean this would not be possible in Europe and the United States.
The reason why no one seems to think of first world countries as corrupt because they are rich. Yes there is corruption but they are still functioning quite well as a country but this doesn't mean their politicians are saints lol. Meanwhile third world countries are more exposed because they have nowhere else to hide when the entire is country is suffering and having a difficult time.

As far as it concerns me, it is possible there are some casino running their operations from the United Kingdom and actually there is some Russian politician behind the curtains, calling the shots and taking choices.
Aren't russians big on gambling? I certainly would not be surprised if their politicians indeed do run casinos secretly.

Both Russian and Chinese business people are pretty much intertwined with casinos, specially online casinos. At this point it has become sort of a stereotype how people from Asia are portraited in popular culture as prone to gambling addiction.

When comes to corruption and the perception we (inhabitants of the third world) have on countries like the UK or the USA it is highly influenced by what we watch on television and internet, we only see the glamour and the cleanliness of those countries, because naturally no country would like to brag on bad things the suffer from, like corruption and politicians getting involved with casinos, so they can pass legislation which makes things easier for this industry to go unregulated.
I have seen documentary films from people who are living in poverty, within the sewers of cities like Las Vegas and New York, but nobody will show such a thing in a Hollywood movie.

Even though casinos is being owned by a politicians I don't think that they will make it none to people because it can be seized by the government I've seen several things that politicians own and after which government seized all of them and said the politician use a government money to purchase all to build all those structures so I believe that if a politician should own a casino platform the politician will not make it known to people so that it will not be seized by the government, people that likely own a casino is a business people who knows about casino and the they started with casino and other gambling experience so there are people that likely own a casino and the other gambling platforms

Looking at this aspect, I think many of us know that there is a tower named after Trump, which is called Trump Tower, where, in addition to his hotel and resort, there is a casino. Maybe the name of the resort is "Trump Entertainment Resorts" and there is a casino which is "Trump casino".

And if you just do a little google search of the politician of any country you want to know about, you will get the details. Since gambling is legal in many countries and the casino business is nothing different thing there, that is something for us to look at separately. However, I have also heard that politicians from countries where gambling is illegal are indirectly involved in the casino business, which is a different thing.

As far as rumors go, it is not uncommon for politicians to become owners of several casinos, it's just that for security reasons they have to use masks or third party names as owners, while the original owners of the casino move behind the scenes to simply monitor the development of their casino business and in order to maintain smooth running sometimes politicians use their position to influence policies related to gambling
gambling business is only the tip of the iceberg. The same aforementioned Trump once owned part of a casino, but it went bankrupt and in addition to this he had a lot of real estate and various funds and even managed to earn money on his inauguration as president. Political activity always has a term, but business is for many years and during their work in politics they accumulate capital for a comfortable old age.
I hard of Trump's involvement in many businesses but the most popular among them business was the real estate you mentioned, I never read of Trump running a bankrupt casino before although this can be true having in mind how often politicians put their hands into many things just to remain relevant and also generate money for their future campaigns or political activities.

Trump coin is another such project, none of the global politicians have gotten involved in coin development before, Trump seems to be the first among others that have a known crypto project, and a cryptocurrency project is like having a casino too, it has high demands and means to concealed stolen wealth.
