Anything more than 2 - 3 cups a day ( I stick with strictly 2 most of the time ) can actually cause you to have withdrawal effects, how do I know this? Because I had the unpleasant feeling of experiencing it myself. Like with any drug use it in moderation and be careful even if it's caffeine! People don't think much about it because everybody assumes it's okay to use.

In my youth I was the same way. I'd even have one late at night. These days I limit myself to 1 or 2 cups in the morning.

iim only limited to 2 cups because the place im at has rules
I can't drink it anymore. It makes me work harder and my heart wants to jump out. 
If I drink too much, I won't go to sleep. So I too limit myself to a few cups a day.

It depends mostly on my work.
If I have to work overnight, i can drink 1 liter of coffee maybe
If at home, maybe 2-3 coups per day.
