I'm intrigued by how these signature campaigns work.

How do these companies know you pasted their html in your signature and that they should pay you?
For that they hire a Signature campaign manager. Compaign manager is a person who have expereince of  managing signature campaign. it is manager's job to make sure the participants are wearing right signatures and making high quality posts in right sections so the project being promoted in their signatures gets the exposure they want.

Do they pay a fixed amount per post or a fixed amount per week? How much do they pay on average for each rank? Or is it not the rank but the merit which determines your income?

Cheers!
Every campaign has different pay rates and models. some pay per post basis and some pay fixed weekly rates. to know that you should check each signatures payment structure.

The signature campaign works pretty simply: you advertise something through your signature space, and they are paying you rewards for that. When a signature campaign launches, they add how much reward will be distributed per rank, per post, or per week. All the terms of the campaign should be attached to the campaign post. You are applying there, which means you accept their terms. So the company or the campaign managers pick participants as per their standards. That's actually how signature campaigns work.

The companies do not have time to keep track of these things and they will hire Signature managers who will be responsible for ensuring that the participants are wearing the required signatures, doing the required amount of posts and are being paid for the constructive posts by the end of the week.

It depends upon the campaign if they are counting each post (no minimum) and pay for the posts or they have a minimum amount of posts that everyone needs to complete to be get paid. And yes, each rank gets a different pay rate. You can check the services section and read the rules for each campaign and many of your doubts will clear and you will have a much better understanding of signature campaigns.

I will try to give answers to each query in the respective sequence in which you have asked them. These companies don't check that you have pasted their website links in your signature they have hired professional people who do that work for them and it is the headache of these professional people who have to give them results, and they don't pay us directly in most cases they did but they hired a professional person to check our posts, links, quality and to pay us after week. That person is known as the campaign manager,

They pay us a fixed amount per post per week, the payment is different for different ranks and on different signature campaigns, and ranks or merits are indirectly the same thing, which means the more merits and activity you will have the higher your rank will be and most of the campaign only accepts member who is senior and to gain senior rank you have to get 250 merits and activity of 240.
If you want to know what rates does these signature campaigns give to there which rank then you should check this topic and the post I am mentioning will be of help to you.

This is why most of the organizations making promotion of their services make use of a campaign manager, this ensure that everything gets in order between the campaign organization and the participants, he lias discussion with the organization and established campaign rules and payrates, every other things follow along with how you're able to agree on certain conditions with your campaign manager then he relate everything to the participants.

How much do they pay on average for each rank? Or is it not the rank but the merit which determines your income?

I employ you go to the service board to see for yourself some typical examples of running campaigns, their rules and payrates, this will help you understand more better in this regard.

Are you intrigued or are you interested just because you have 25 merits now you just need to increase your activity to 60 and you will be a member rank which will make you eligible to participate in a signature campaign that accepts member rank, you are lucky to have that 25 merits in just a short period and if you discover signature as a good incentive it will motivate you to contribute more, so keep it up.

How do these companies know you pasted their html in your signature and that they should pay you?
Companies don't need to know that you have pasted their code in your signature space because they hire campaign managers from this forum who look after the members who apply the signature code on their profiles. It's basically the campaign manager that looks after the participants who are into a campaign and the company pays manger for that hard work.

Do they pay a fixed amount per post or a fixed amount per week?
In most campaigns the amount it fixed per post but not all of the posts will get paid. Someone campaigns pay 20 posts of a users while others pay 50-60 posts that a member makes. The paid posts should be constructive and should contain valuable information.

How much do they pay on average for each rank? Or is it not the rank but the merit which determines your income?
The rank is an important thing in a campaign the higher the rank the better the payment. In some campaigns merits also play a big role, in a few campaigns the members with 3k or 4k merits get higher pay as compare to other Legendary rank members. They get that pay because they are the most active and contributive members of the forum.

How do these companies know you pasted their html in your signature and that they should pay you?
This happens to be the most interesting question and xLays has answered it that the companies hire a campaign manager whose duty among others is to ensure that everyone is wearing signature throughout the campaign period.

Quote
How do these companies know you pasted their html in your signature and that they should pay you?
Some of the company hires a manager who checks whether their signature campaign participants are actually using it.

I thought you will go deeper by asking how the project owners actually know that the signature campaign is helping to give their project a good exposure. I am convinced that the signature campaign works for the projects and that is why they keep using it as a means of promotion. But what I don't know is how mere wearing signatures to make posts help the brand outside the forum.

It can be both, depending on the signature campaign agreement.

Earnings depend on the agreement. Some get paid in cryptocurrency, others don't. Look into specific signature campaign or bounties for details on what they offer.

The kudos go to the admin and the management of the forum, it's one of a kind. I guess you want to replicate it on your site as well, it's a free world...lol. Anyway, it happened here first and that can't ever be removed.

Perhaps you are such that want to bring your project down here for us to advertise for you, you are also warmly welcome.

It's simple, as you see the signatures embedded beneath every post, if you put a cursor on them, you will realize that they are clickable, not for viewing alone. You can click it and it will redirect you to the website of the sponsor. By this, they get to keep track of the traffic we send to them and also know the converting ones.

The above style is general which most campaigns use, but it could also be more than that where each participant has a unique link that can be tracked to them.

This question tends to be about "how much work" which in my perspective is about fair pay for participants, the answer varies depending on where you live.
If you mean effective for brands, you should at least join one of these discussions:

They must have budgets when starting their business that can be big or small.

To run a business, they need to do marketing and signature campaign is one of marketing types that can be run by a Bitcoin, cryptocurrency platform. It can be a waste of money if it brings no or low effects to the company. It is helpful if they see good effects from the campaign.

If you see a campaign starts and stops shortly, it means the company sees it not right financially for to do this more.
Oppositely, if a campaign is run very long, it means something actually are good for the company and they decide to run it in a long time. No deep budget can serve it if no good effects in return.

Signature campaigns are run by campaign managers. CM checks all the posts ensuring that a participant wore the signature, avatar, personal text and whether filled the weekly quota or not. And as for pay rate, it totally depends on your rank or how reputed you are around the forum. Normally the pay rate starts from 1$ to 6$, as far as I have seen. You can earn up to 150-200$ a week. Those who are very reputed in this forum can make custom deals for renting their signature space. As I am a full member, I earned around 20$ a week after joining a mixer campaign. Later I moved to another mixer champaign where I earned 35$ a week. It also depends on max post per weeks. Some allows 20 some 30 and some 40 posts per week. Apart from mixers, gambling campaigns pays more if we compare the numbers.

Bitcointalk was the only forum that allowed signature campaigns. After that other cryptocurrency forums did follow the same concept but we're not that successful. Each camping is run by a campaign manager.

The campaign manager is responsible to check the post and ensures the rules of the campaign are being followed. Anyone found not following the rules will be removed from the campaign.

The amount of weekly pay depends on the rank of any member. The higher the rank the better will be the pay for that member. As your rank is still a newbie you won't qualify to participate in a signature campaign as of now. When you reach Member ranks then you can apply for signature campaign that are on boarding Member and above ranks.

Signature campaigns is not free internet money. You’re advertising for the company by wearing their signature or avatar. Companies who run campaigns on bitcointalk do so with the intent to promote their brand/service and they know they will the value for their money. Each campaign has its own rules to ensure the company is well represented and they get the results they want from the campaign.

Only member rank upwards can wear signature and yes the higher you rank and style of posting the more attractive your account becomes to campaign managers. To better understand, here are some threads you should read;

First, it's not html that is entered on signature space, but in bbcode format.
Second, all these questions depends on the projects budget and manager the project is dealing with. Because at the very least you can run a campaign with a budget of $400 (or even lower) with limited numbers of  participants and ranks available.

Please don't mistake a side bonus as an income from a job here, this forum is not a place for people to find an online job, the idea was initially to have a bonus on the side of posting to discuss Bitcoin and at the same time get some Bitcoin, unfortunately people exploited  this opportunity and destroyed the joyful place this forum once was. We are stuck in a loop of "signature/merit", not even our enemies could plan to disrupt our progress this nicely. we did it ourselves.

Here is a link to an overview of the signature campaigns in the forum.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/overview-of-bitcointalk-signature-ad-campaigns-last-update-01-jan-23-615953

From there you will know how much are the participants being paid, how you can calculate the average for each rank, and other requirements.

For your first question, the campaign manager checks it and then pays them accordingly.

I think there is no fix amount to what member are paid, I think that jurisdiction is base on how the company and the campaign manager decide to work it out as I believe some company pay their for advertising their work than others and I think the campaign manager also has a way to influence the payment rate for each rank depending on the ones he is working with.

Aslo some company start with a low budget for marketing their pay while later is the case for other. Well for how they track campaigner wearing their signature code to earn payment, I think the manager has the responsibility to do that as he can also work with special people to keep track of these that's if he really wants to be district.
