Since the father knows his son steals from him when he keeps money at home, and the fact that he's addicted to this gaming stuff shows that there's more to having him repented and stop the stealing habit. I think the best thing is to cut his supply of funds first which is directly affecting the father financially and emotionally.

The father should form the habit of keeping the excesses of his money in the bank and not in the house, give him strict instruction never to leave the house without proper reason and monitor the child closely to  ensure compliance. He's still a child and can be reshaped to be a better person. I still recommend the child getting some kind of busy, I mean if he's idle and just staying at home gambling, he can be hooked up to learning a trade or skill. His master should also be properly intimated on his habit so he keeps a close eye on him and not fall a victim. Idleness makes people vulnerable to negative influences and I believe if he's busy, his mind can be occupied with new activities and help with his addiction.

One thing about gambling addiction it is different from every other kind of addiction. When the person who is addicted to gambling haven't seen  gambling as a problem and not willing to stop gambling it is difficult to get rid of addiction.  Since the boy is already addicted if he is not willing to come out from his problems I don't think his family will be able to do something about it. Even if the family tries their best to stop him from gambling addiction,  if he is not willing to change and if he gets the opportunity to play gambling he will definitely go back to his addiction.

When one is addicted to gambling and willing to overcome addiction,  the best way to win addiction is to totally stop playing gambling, doing this it will be very easy but when one keeps playing it is possible for one to even get more addicted and this makes everything difficult and one will continue to suffer being addicted.

Your post suggest that this is a case of under-age gambling which is highly discouraged. All casinos forbid children from using their platform for reasons such as you have highlighted in this post which is stealing to gamble. Children can easily exhibit bad gambling characters such as gambling addiction that can make them misbehave. I really feel disgusted whenever I read or hear about somebody stealing to gamble. One of the important things I learnt is to gamble with only money I can afford to lose.

This incidence further stresses the need to keep gambling away from children because it impact them negatively. maybe I will tell the story of my neighbor whose money has often been stolen by his son and it is very sad to hear this story, it is very surprising for his son who looks innocent and doesn't talk much but is addicted to gambling but his parents still defend him if he doesn't gamble.
Initially my neighbor had a business selling food and every night his son always came with the excuse of helping sell his wares but at every closing hour the money he made that day always disappeared several dollars and this had been happening for more than 1 year and my neighbor had told me that the money was lost due to mystical interference but I responded that it was not mystical interference but someone took the money.

one day I felt curious and tried to come to the business place after that I ordered food and tried to sit at a table that was not visible and the child came and took some money and put it in a bag and after that I told the parents that the child had stolen the money but the parents defended their innocent child without saying much and in fact I was seen as accusing their child of stealing.
one day I saw the child alone in the park playing slot games and at that time I called his parents to see what the child was doing and the parents realized that it was true that for more than 1 year the money that had been missing was the child who was the perpetrator of the theft that money.

from this we can conclude that in this era of technological development how important it is as parents to always provide education regarding the negative impacts related to underage gambling and as parents we have the right to always check search history or whatever to check whether our children are accessing something that beyond the limit of minors.

In fact you can call it the social negative effect of gambling especially when the older members of the society participate in gambling in front of the children then the children become gamblers themselves after seeing the gambling addiction of the adults. In fact I would consider it a common form of gambling horror. And we are mainly responsible for creating this situation, especially if the guardians had not participated in gambling in front of the children, then maybe the children would not have been involved in such activities.
When a child becomes a gambler, it is natural for him to do such activities because he finds no other way to manage his gambling money than by stealing money from his father's pocket. There is a lot of Anaphora in your post but from the story you shared above is really a sad one because it only takes one to become a father to know the pains parents go through to make sure that their children are taken care of but it's so sad for a child to steal his father's money even if the child uses the money for other things other than gambling it is still a very bad habit because someday that child may steal from an outsider and get apprehended and possibly get punished.

Stealing parents hard earn money to play gamble is a clear case of wickedness and shouldn't be condoned and the father knowing too well that the child steals his money to gamble, what proactive measure has he taken to put a stop and repetition of his child always stealing his money even when he is aware of this bad habit of his son because keeping quiet and telling other people will not solve the problem but for him to take action now if not that child will grow up and become a nuisance to the society.

A boy in my hood also thought he was doing his father a favor, they are poor and he wasn't happy with the situation, he decided to steal from his father and go big into gambling, he got served a few days later, and the loss was big, his father broke down and nearly collapsed because that's all they had left.

People around, including myself couldn't keep looking as the father broke down, the next day we contributed some money and gave it back to the father, but I called the boy closer and told him some truth about gambling, since that time he changed.

These situations are indeed reality on which there's no way that you could really be able to stop these things and does really happen on some families about one of those members becomes a gambling addict. This is why good parenting would really be always significant or something that would really be important. This is why as a parent then you should really be making yourself that having
that good parenting will really be needing specially if you do have one. You are the ones who would really be preaching out those good deeds and whats wrong and whats good.
It would really be always that relevant and something important because if you cant really be able to do such thing then you are just basically putting your children

Actually sometimes, guiding a child not to get into gambling den isn't as easy as you may want to think it to be but then we can make our little efforts to stop them and if they stop we be glad but when it goes beyond our control we may just have to let them be because we can do almost not really much stopping them from been able to gamble but then if we find them gambling, telling others around wouldn't actually do much for us as it may not really help stopping the child from gambling so most times it's better we try to help them than telling others about their habits.

As a gambler i know that it's really difficult dealing with gambling addiction and such persons who are going through such needs to be carefully followed in other for them to stop or change their habit as if you try to force them otherwise they may end up not been able to quit gambling sooner enough.

That is gambling for greedy people. It will let the family not to have trust on the gambler as he is stealing his father money to gamble. It would be good to advice the child and let him know that gambling will not just do him good if he is greedy with it and just want to win at all cost thinking gambling can bring him money. People that think like this in the past are not having good testimony about gambling. If you are not able to be using the money that you can afford to lose to gamble, then do not gamble at all.

I have stole money from my mother's wardrobe when I was young, just to spend on useless things at the time, I was young and I dont really know if what I am about to do will have some big consequences later, I just did them all.

After s while it get to a point where my father and mother got really sad and that was the first time I saw my father shed tears because of my behaviour and it really got me good.

I thought to myself that definitely, what I had been doing was very wrong, and I needed to stop, then I turned a new leave, children are different from one another, I was dumb and didn't have a lot going on in my head, nothing seems too wrong to me.

Until I started to grow and can tell the difference from good and bad, I made it up to my parent, I proof to them that I am no more that stubborn child who they thought I was, my advice for this family is that the father needs to hit the child where it hurts the most.

I am not saying he should beat up the child, I am saying he needs to find a way to talk some senses into the child, if the child is a stubborn one who doesn't listen, the father should pretend to be in his shoe and probably stay around the child even when he want to gamble.

By doing so he will be able to break down the wall between them, and make him realize that gambling is not for everyone.

It's heart breaking to see that a child to whom you strive to give the very best as a parent is rather becoming an inimical to your strife for him for a better living due to some addiction problem he has gotten himself into. What the father need to do to stop him from seeing money to steal from him is that he should not be leaving his money in the house, if he's a holder of a bank account he should leave his money there only to withdraw the amount he needs for use instead of extra themat his addictive son could have to steal from.

The dangerous side with such addicts that steal from their home to use for gamble is that when they see no more money to steal they stealthily start selling off valuable properties in the home to get money for gamble. As parents we should be very observant at our children and certain new behaviours we see alien of them, if we are able to observe from the very beginning we can save them before they go worsen.

Gambling can make you bad person and bring your worst attitude, and that's the worst case scenario when you fall into gambling's trap.

I'm pretty sure we don't want this to happen to us so while you are still in control, better to have your strategy ready and be more responsible before its too late.

Gambling is very risky, one should not fully depend on this because winning is not guaranteed after all. Always set your limit, gambling is not good when you are too emotional.

 For me the moment you notice the person doesn't stop even after losing all he initially set out to use for gambling and may want to use more, that's when he should have been monitored because the thing with these addictions is that they start small; always needing to chase after your losses with the hope that the next one will be the good one and when it's not, you get crappy but that still won't be enough incentive for you to stop, rather it's what drives you to stake and when you don't have the financial backing to do as your mind tells you, you become desperate and any plan to get money seems like a good idea.

Don't gamble if you can't afford it which includes getting financial support from your family members unless you belong to elite class family. Stealing is crime no matter what so the person who committed should be charged with whatever penalty in that jurisdiction and if that person is underage then they might be asked to do social activities and undergo reality check knowledge to understand the reality.

Not every kid belong to poor family is not irresponsible but there are certain kids who surround themselves into wrong people and starts involving in crimes.

I am a father of two kids and I am thankful they are not yet in gambling. Kids these days are very good with technology I know someday it might happen that's why I keep track of what they are doing with their phones. When they are asleep, I check it every day and I am glad all the history and subscriptions are all for kids.
Also, I made sure that they were disciplined to ask for money and not just take it from me without my permission. That's where everything will start if we keep them on a right path because someday they will grow and carry all those they learned from us.

Believe me, if this child is already at this level of addiction and if it continues, then expect that he could do a higher level of crime. Imagine he can't fight the urge to gamble even without any money, which would result in him stealing from his parents without a second thought. Then his condition is already not good, and if it continues, he might not be able to change or control himself anymore. If the parents can't really control their child who was exposed to and got addicted to gambling at such an age, then they need help from rehabilitation or welfarewho was exposed to and got addicted to gambling at such an age, then they need help from rehabilitation or welfare that will educate and help their child. 

Truly, an addiction can change people—any people! That person could do anything that is out of his character and might commit crimes just to satisfy his addiction; any addiction, not just gambling, is very bad. I don't want to blame the parents, but it's their responsibility to keep in touch and in check with their child in order to know and monitor what's up to now and to be able to guide them.

This is outrageous,and not appalling I wonder how some parents expose their children to such experience.
Firstly I'll blame the said parents because this is the stage where the mastermind or controls their children decision making process but they are just clumsy and relaxed about it.and this is because some parents are seen by their children gambling that's why they are involved in it too and they the parents have nothing to do cause they're into it as well

Another thing is gambling from an early stage is more like a disease that grows in you for a while and then it ruse up to a stage it can't be treated and that's addiction.
We all need to watch our teenage children and how we expose our gambling habits to their face cause they learn from what they see.
