Flippin' burgers since 1163.
The problem of salary growth not keeping up with living expenses is a universal American one.
It doesn't matter how much you earn and it doesn't matter where you live.  Grin

FTFY. America is running on debt more than every other country. In Europe for example it is uncommon to pay with or even own a creditcard. It is all debit card or cash (this fact does not apply to it's governments, spending money they don't have. Hence the insane tax rates).

The universal problem is called the hedonic treadmill or hedonic adaptation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedonic_treadmill

Like a slave? Don't despise your job man, there are millions of people that have a dream to have the salary $10,000 yearly, which means $833 every month, this is also based on the place people live but it's not bad 10k yearly.
You should  be thankful  regarding on your  salary because  in other countries $10k  monthly would already  be a  lot $833 per month is  no joke  already  and  i could  already  live  a  luxury  life  with  it but well  we cant really say that  because  it really depends on which  country do you  live though.
Yes it is true I only earned 230$ a month, but it can be consider as a decent salary, the cost of living is depend on which country you live and the way of your living, after i deduct all of my eat and transportation and my life expenses i only got 20$ spare, that is why i joined this forum, to get some extra income
Same  here, i do get some extra income here on this forum which is  really good  for be   that bitcoin do  exist.  Salary would   really based on which country do you live from some  may say  its big  enough  and some  would say its not enough.  Stage  or  kind of living  would really varries.

it all depends on where you live.
in some countries the cost of living is high so these amounts may not even look enough for a living but at the same time in some other coutnries because of the cost of living the amount like that can be a decent amount to live decent life.

>$40,000 a year, I won't specify anything beyond that but the relative savings that I can have stored away at the end of each year is remotely similar to what some people say they earn over the course of a year. The lower-end of the spectrum, anyways.

Living costs are incredibly different around the world, so overall savings don't mean much though. A comparison between saved portions of one's income vs. living costs is a far better estimate in my opinion.

My net salary is around $30,000 per year from which $7000 per year goes to my savings account. The other $23,000 are all spendings including food, clothes, etc. My main luck is that the rent of my house is quite low compared to the average monthly costs here.

In my country, there is not much job and half people are far away from nativeland. People there has 70-300$, you can't start working with your education and skills, if you want to work as an  office-cleaner, than you need to know english and must be studied in university, that's very silly and if you want good job with high paying, than you need good and  influential relative, that situation is in my country. People here don't want to help each other, everyone cares about theirself.
I have enough money made from my job but that does not mean that I am going to quit with it because I am still doing a good job and going full time on bitcoin is not going to happen for me. If bitcoin would die then I have just lost my job and lost bitcoin.
I do not want to lose both of my income and start from zero again.

Yup and its always good to continue to earn from both of them and its never wise to quit your job for bitcoins especially if its an high paying job as we never know how long bitcoin will survive in future.

In my country taxes is the issue. If you earn $10k / year.. they will tax you between 20%-30% of your earnings.. it will vary also depending on your status (Single, married, etc.).. of course you have to pay bills, food for your family, etc.. Almost nothing left for myself.  Cheesy

In my country theres a law that minimum wage earners are exempted to tax thats why we really dont mind the taxes implemented by goverment but theirs VAT when we buy some basic goods And thats ok since its helping my countries economy and my salary left is enough to survive for 1 month and wait another salary date.
I have enough money made from my job and I am still working I think that is better to be doing bitcoin as something extra because you then have not to rely on bitcoin.
Some times bitcoin is stable for a long time and then money is not made for me.

Those thing about your country is happening at mine as well teatchers has no job, even when the school needs them, because politician wanna the votes and will just help who will vote at them, soo without knwoledge here you will find no job.
I agree of what you saying ,I actually experience that,as if your with that side of politician then you have the chance to have a job. Here in our country even employment are controlled by politicians. You have the ability and competence but still within the approval of a politician.
That is so sad of you, you guys maybe living in a country that are controlled by corrupt politicians. You know what? you could always migrate to our country in order for you to fully utilize your skills and knowledge and be rewarded with what is due to you.
