Nice to read the answers, to know others experiences.

I have started a week ago with alts, invested about 115 USD, have about 140 USD now, planning to invest some more, waiting for the BTC price to go down. Trading with 5 different alts. Rode Pascal wave halway up today, it was nice to see how quickly things can get hot.

Just like others said, it's mostly the amount of money that is not too much to loose.

I am still planning to buy some alt-coin but my capital is still low,
Maybe I will just buy 1 alt-coin at a time and see how much profit I can get in it.

Sound. Fury. Signifying.
Over time I've held around 20 different coins. I currently have positions in 13 coins, plus a few ICO investments that haven't distributed tokens yet.

As for how much, I'm not saying, but I will say that my biggest holding is in ICN, followed by GAME, DGD, ETH, and XRP.

When I started I bought 1 BTC and it was around 200 USD. From that initial investment and faucets I made good profits up to 10 000 USD. Now I'm not trading, I'm investing for longer periods and when I reach my investment goal I'm selling slowly high volume coins.

I'm still pretty damned new to all this and only started a few months back in crypto.

I first bought bitcoin, but quickly tired of it after reading all the segwit/BU crap every day.

So I then read about DASH and the whole MN idea and swapped my BTC into that at around $40 per DASH...rode that up to $104 and sold all but 25 DASH for the "new" kid on the block PIVX which gave me the opportunity to buy a MN now that DASH was out of my reach.

I'm still mostly in PIVX with that little bit of DASH on the side right now and no idea where (if anywhere) to go next.  I've gotten luck and made good gains.  But I'm smart enough to know I'm still basically clueless about all this.

But to answer the original question: Invested $6.5k in altcoins total. Worth about $19k as of today.  All luck or basically picking stuff that sounds good on a surface level to me.

I have a 50/50 split between altcoins and bitcoin, and a 50/50 split between gold and crypto, and a 50/50 split between fiat and gold+crypto. So, about 200k in fiat (government bonds), 100k in gold, 50k in bitcoin, 50k in altcoins.

Looks like you have a lot of portion for every crypto to get your funds. Do you not think to spent a little to be your urgent money? or put all of your money into the coin.

Until now I still do not dare to invest altcoin with large amounts, maybe only in a few coins alone which certainly has a good opportunity for investment

im wondering how much do you guys invest in alt coins and how many different alts do you have?
My Investment is about 180$ in Gambling and in about 10-15 types of altcoins . Usually my Investment amount is small for every altcoin Because I don't trust at any altcoin , so small small investment making me trust that if once ran then other will be safe and will not give me loss in any way .
So my stretagy is also good for myself from one year , Because I never faced any loss with this stretagy of trading .
Here I think 150$ is not a big amount , it is small amount for the trading , my Investment in the trading is going increasing per week and per month .
Hope one day my Investment in the trading will be of 1000$ Smiley

It's better to do that and spread among altcoins. Keep more invested in the altcoins you trust the most. If you work at it you will certainly be investing $1000s after you build up your capital. That would be great. Smiley

@op, i only invest what i think i can afford to lose if ever that particular altcoin will dump and cannot recover.
based on calculation, my estimation is that i only invested maybe 100$. as what i said, i only invest which i think i will not mind incase i lost it. Smiley

regards.
