Although I'm not a supporter of altcoin investments, I have made some just to do trial and error. At start I felt every altcoin is just another scam program but now there are some developers who took their coins seriously and working on them. I have invested like $100 in 2-3 altcoins. Hope to get some profit in the future from their pump..
People just love to exaggerate when talking about success..I believe everyone who made very good profit from alts is out, enjoys life. Rest of us are enthusiasts who watching every new announcement with much hope in eyes. My last good picks were CLOAK, KMD, LTC, NAV and you can check it in my previous posts. Everything together was under 1k$.
I have put in about $600 in installments over a few months.
I started in january and i have cashed out some profit of $200 for a different project.
I would consider myself to be very conservative and im in for the long term.
So im not too bothered about the rise and fall in the crypto i have invested in.
The crypto i have are bitcoin, and 4 alt's.
Overall they are showing gains for me which at the moment is all good !

Well for me I have not invested anything on altcoin but I've searched everywhere and find ways how to earn alt coins without even spending my own money. I have 2 different altcoin on hold right now XRB which is raiblocks (I do captchas to earn XRB), and ConX which I'm campaigning right now. It is a new altcoin that is progressively trying to climb in the market. It's campaign is to try spread altcoins throughout prison cells around the USA and help inmates earn ConX while they are in side. I'm mostly a hundred bucks each month guy, but total numbers are of no real advice. Let's talk about proportional value!
Been one-half-full-in on Byteballs when they had been fresh and that paid 4x but that's the highest I would go for a dubious new Alt.
Usually just top shelf of coinmarketcap, stuff like ETH developped very well. Ripple on ignore. LTC, BTC, XMR, some lesser amount of DASH (failure in judgement, on hindsight).
Still looking for some prospering low marketcap coin.

I dont have actually a track on how much money did i already used on investing on cryptocurrency since there are lots of past coins did i put my money into either on Good alts and to those shitcoins out there but speaking on the current coins i do hold then i would mention XMR,XRB and off course BTC is always on the list.
In total I've spent about £700 buying BTC, starting in August '16, which I've used to make small gains here and there (yet to catch a pump at the start 
). Trading's probably taken me to about 1.2 BTC at the moment, so I'm probably up a couple of hundred pounds.

i have several altcoins such as Monero, ETH, DASH and DOGE but i don't have much money to buy more
and if i counted all of my altcoins it is worth approximately $500

I invest into many alt coins.. mainly ICOs.
high risk, high reward.
overall I am up a very healthy return. some I loose, most I win even if just a bit.

Depends on how interesting the altcoin project is and how popular is.But I can invest 0.1 BTC in their ICO period that I know that have a potential to grow in the market.
not much in alt, i can say 10-25% depend on the trend we have in the alt, if for example there are many good alt that look promising with an immident pump i invest more, if not i invest the minimum which is 10% in any case, i like to hold only the good alt that have high marketcap, like ethereum, they offer more stability and preserve my money better
Nowdays it's not easy to determine which altcoin will achieve success and become real competitive of bitcoin but to my mind it's better to invest some cents in every new altcoon, it won't be much ans 10$ will be enough for that, yes, maybe it seems funny but if any coin will achieve success, that invested cents will turn into dollar. For example, if anyone would invest in bitcoin when it was very cheap, with one USD investment he would achive great profit, more than x1000
Reasonable amount, i only invest the money which i can afford to lose when somethings go wrong, investing is risky and there is no assurance that you will earn from your investment. i invested in eth because i can see that it has potential, becomes more mainstream and receives more media attention.

It is a long story, I have invested in bitcoin from very early, and I found altcoins. I thought altcoins can make bitcoin, so I have deposited over 35k usd for buying bitcoin, which is in my 4 years investment in bitcoin and altcoin. You know it is quite good to make much money from altcoins. I have lost and earned, total figure is still earnings.
I would say about 4k in many different coins and in the openledger project. I have a hard time with tokens and getting them after I contribute to ICO's so I think the new project out of openlesger, the internet of coins will be massive. A wallet that keeps your tokens, crypto and other altinvestments in a wallet where you control all the keys.

I started by using 2 super old PC's i had laying around to mine a super small amount of coins.
Then i used that to do trades on Cryptsy etc.
I built up about 12k worth of BTC either flipping coins on the exchanges or by arb'ing.
Then cashed out every penny and spent it..
In time though i keep getting more BTC from Faucet referrals i guess.
I have 95 ref's on one of the BTC faucets i went to in 2013 that is STILL paying me.
..even if i don't go there for a whole yer LOL
I last gave away my BTC (small amount) to an XDA dev guy.. then i seen i got more BTC again LOL
My point is though is i refused to spend real money on this crap.. nor did i have to.

I put $1000 in. Now I have over $100,000. I vowed to never invest any more and i don't want to cash out as i'm in Australia and the commission fees are 5% (that has taken over 3 years).
In 3 years time span you made 100 times growth with your altcoin investments, really very much amazing to hear. Could you please share what were your choices, I mean on what are altcoins you have invested and in what percentage ?More importantly if possible please share what are the criteria you are following to choose altcoins for investments. I guess your methodology and holding them for up to 3 years are the key for your success.
I made investments with dogecoins and litecoins and still holding with negative growth in bitcoin value.
I am a beginner in the area of investing in altcoins. maybe a month ago I bought 2 LTC, 10 LSK and 5000 DOGE I have read on the forum that this coints are the most trustworthy and decided to try myself on it's investing. But for the month nothing change in it's price, but I am sure that it's long term investition, so I am waiting.
