In every investment there is risk but in this case I can say the risk is very low. Everytime is the right time to buy bitcoin, you can see the past statistics about bitcoin value. It grew over time. If you don't buy today you will regret later. The price is likely to increase, and there is no chance of falling in the near future. Good luck

If you planned to hold it for short term then the risk is small, but if you planned to hold it for 10 or 20 years maybe that a bit risky, as we know bitcoin still in growing process so anything can happened, maybe it can grow stronger or maybe can be replaced by other coin, but I more believe that bitcoin will grow stronger in future, that is why I think holding bitcoin as investment is a good idea, just don't put all your wealth in bitcoin, invest in different form is better

its good to hold for short term but i think its more good enough if you hold it for at least 1-2 years from now because we are know that bitcoin is something new in our world and many people predicted that bitcoin has a good chance to be future payment and money for future so i think at least i can save my bitcoin as investment like many other people. i am agree with xuan87 said that don't put all of our wealth in bitcoin, we need to spread it into many investment so if our investment is grow, we can get profit.

Basically we don't know the risk in every site if you invest money in a site first is you don't know if the site was trusted there are site that can give you small profit but many site are just scamming people who invested.

if you are going to invest , you should have to take a risk so big. investment is not always winning, sometimes there are more failed too. if you are going to expect dont expect too much you will be hurt , there are many scammers there so be wise and be practical enough. I dont invest now because I was scammed , but when I invest again I will make sure that it will never happen again.
better to make your own research before entrusting your money, this forum really help a lots to know what investment platform that you can consider
before placing your hard earned money the more you review feedback and deep information the more chances that you will find great opportunities with your investment, bitcoin itself by the way is already an investment holding it for a while will bring you profits.

No one can make a precise forecast of bitcoin. It is necessary to trust intuition and invest that part of the money that is not terrible to lose, the risk is in any investment.
I agree with you, there is always risk in anything even in investment. Before investing into something make sure that you already know the risk and the possibilities that can happen and also the worst case scenarios so you are already prepared for the things that will come in the future and also do not invest what you can't afford to lose.

It's very difficult to answer such question.
It's the best, of course, if you can earn your bitcoin through some work and just collect funds in your wallet and wait for good price to sell it.
If you plan to buy bitcoin, right now btc price is very high, so maybe is better for you to wait.
You have many other crypto currency available, so if you want top lower risk, invest in more crypto currencies.
Bitcoin is risk like anything else in the market today.

I just wanted to know that, what amount of risk is there in investing in bitcoins.
Right now i am planning to buy btc approx 3-4 btc and just hold them as i guess the price of bitcoin will increase in future and i will get some good profit. But i want to know what is the risk involved. Can bitcoin price decrease and is this right time to buy the bitcoin.
I think the higher the price, the more risky it is. Try to buy when markets are stable and not heavily extended. But you might miss out in the short term if you don't buy in early.
That's right, after intense price increase or pump, there'll be always correction and it's mean the price will go down at some point and reached its stability, never try to invest when you just missed the train. There's no point of it and just giving you additional risk instead, wait for a better momentum and until the price of the coin you're aiming going down  at its deepest point.

Maybe op could not just only focus on bitcoin.
He could use a small percentage of his investment for the leading altcoins.
If bitcoin would really get in trouble, some altcoin would take its place.
Most likely that altcoin is already existing. This is one possible way to reduce his risks.

another thing the OP can do if he find bitcoin too risky now, which i think it isn't , but anyway he can invest in something that generate bitcoin instead of buying it's slower but almost no risk

for example take a gpu mining rig that generate for you 0.45 btc a month minus electricity, but with a very low risk because the value of your gear will always remain there(only a small loss 20% of the gpu) over many months years
That's true, based on the electricity consumption charge the user will be getting a stable income and the investment is on the mining equipment. The equipment too will be with us, so there is no need to worry about the investing into third parties. Even if 50% loss happens while selling the GPU after certain time period the user could have benefited much as the price looks growing gradually.

I don't think there is any " no risk " investment out there. I think the very definition of investment includes the word risk or any other form that conotes the same idea. Bitcoins, are a risky one, I think it is one of the riskiest one out there. It could just die or it could live on, know one really knows.

in what ever you do there will always be risk. and bitcoin investment has risk too. it just a matter how well you face those risk. just like in bitcoin, you should know when to buy to take profit. but if you but it during the ATH then you will need patience to wait for the next ATH.

there is risk involved in all types of investment where the value keeps fluctuating.
the people who bought when btc was new, did nt had knowldge of future growth., but what they did is, leap of faith. Tongue
3-4 btc are nothing, wait for the price to drop and buy as much as you can., andhold on to them., imho, btc gonna reach 10k in short time.

there is no risk at all , it is because the most of the developed countries are now accepting bitcoin as an way of the payment and also they legalise the bitcoin officially , so no risk to hold bitcoin .
Here in my country , which is India, the government is looking to legalise the bitcoin .
I don’t agree that there is no risk. What if we term the word no risk as low risk? It will be a very good terminology. The risk factor can never be eliminated it can only be minimized, and yes agree that many of the developed countries are adopting the bitcoin trend and are friendly to the bitcoin. It is good to know that Indian government is working on it as many people from India are using the bitcoin.

Any types of investment are risky, without taking a risk no one can get better output.
being a newcomer in bitcoin I also want to know about this kind of issue. if anybody who got involved from long ago please tell me about it.
I love your statement bro. People can not grow up and evolve without taking any risk. Well, we can evolve and become rich if we choose a right investment. And we can learn more and become more perfect if we choose the wrong one. Every investment will give us a good lesson to learn whether it fails or not
