Nobody knows. I hope that it still be in the Top 10.

But what I do know is if ETH Devs doesn't come up with some solution to the giant fees, over time, DeFi & Tokens will shift to cheaper and faster chains like Tron and Solana and Ether will die.

I wouldn’t be surprised if ETC isn’t the dominant ethereum chain in the future. Here’s why...

1. Code MUST be law when being used at such a high level of technology. (Voting, securities registration, self executed contracts, etc...)

2. Economics are sound with the 210,000,000 hard cap (now 210,700,000) to account for the 51% attack supply increase.

3. 24 hour Trading volumes are consistently > 100% total supply. How? It takes 10k (Coinbase) to 80k (kraken) confirmations currently to confirm. That’s a HUGE disincentive to day trade or make use of ETCs low tx fee.

4. DCG currently has 12,250,000 in the ETCG trust. That is 10.5% of circulating supply. Someone owns those coins, and they are spoken for at a rate 4x the ETH held in the ETHE fund.

5. The banks and conglomerates who invested HEAVILY in the EEA in 2015/2016 will, in my opinion, not stand to be frontrun by a bunch of “bitcoin come latelys” who want to get exposure to this space but have a hard time parting with 300$ to get 0.00something of ANYTHING. The majority of ETH “investors” I talk to think that ETH is an anolog to bitcoin.

6. Think of the fraud and malinvestment that the ETH chain is riddled with. It seems like only 6 months ago there was a new defi “hack”/exit scam every 3rd day. How about the blatant securities fraud in the ICO mania of 2017? How about the fact that Gary ginsler while teaching his Blockchain and Money course at MIT told his class he didn’t consider ETH to be a security IN ITS CURRENT FORM (ETH1.0) and then as soon as he heads the SEC, 3,000,000 coins are locked up in what sure looks like a securities contract (ETh2.0)?

7. The DAO was not a hacked. It was a group of investors who blindly trusted a very real contract, much the same way I do when I accept Apple’s terms and conditions to upgrade my iPad every few months.

I’m a bitcoin maximalist. I don’t care what anyone does with their bitcoin. I just think that ETH, for the common investor will end poorly.

This question is impossible to answer. Who knows which crypto will be classed as successes and which would be classed as failures. Many thousands of crypto will be on the scene in a decade and many of them will be scams or end up being failures.

The ones that survive they will have some legitimacy and along with that they will have some sort of value but nobody knows how much value.

Despite the "De-Fi" hype coming to a halt, Ethereum's popularity has been increasing at a fast pace. The price per ETH is certainly a lot higher than what it was 1-2 years ago. New "De-Fi" projects and tokens are being built on the Ethereum blockchain, even with the high fees and slow transaction confirmation times. If ETH keeps rising in popularity, I'd imagine prices would be a lot higher than what they are right now. Who knows what will happen ten years from now? A full-fledged PoS version of ETH would've become a reality by then, enabling greater transaction capacity and a slight reduction in fees.

I'm starting to wonder, how much will ETH be worth (in USD) in a decade? Will it be $5k, $10k, or $15k per coin? Based on your predictions, why do you think ETH will reach such prices? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

The base price is $5000 and the added value will bring more value which equals demand. The higher demand will attract the investors and the price will swim next to the $7000. In 10 years, everything is possible to happen, even ETH can pass the current market price of Bitcoin. The answers can vary depending on the trading experience of that user but ETH still has the very high potential to go above $3000. After 10 years, you can come back for checking the give answers here by different forum members.

i predict, the ethereum price about ten years from now between $20K - $25K
and hopefully the transactions fees will not high anymore
regards
The price can really go that high 10 years from now but its also possible that transactions fees will increase as well. We are currently having such problem thus in the future it can still be present unless they already fix something to lowered the fees which is a burden for traders and users.

Nevertheless those who buy eth at low price last year probably having parties now because eth already reach another ath. There's more to look forward in the future for this coin, I just hope I can still able to buy before the price skyrocket.

ETH can get this price, l think also that ETH deserves it, more than 20-25k which you above mentioned, but ETH price depends on BTC movement, as you know when BTC started getting up, ETH started also price increasing. But there is always a risk, it doesn't matter it is more than 1% or equal. None can predict what will happen. When BTC started price increasing, ETH starts to follow this movement. About transactions fee, in my humble opinion, there can be price changes. l hope this transaction will not be higher than expected.

*Ethereum is in the air but no one knows at what price it will stop...
at the beginning of this year, Ethereum has made a new ATH two times, with its current circulation strongly believes that ethereum's value will be higher than now. The homework of Vitalik is how to make gas fees a little low.

the price of ethereum unstopable now, and i believe in the near time the price could touch about $2k
and i'm sure in 10 years from ethereum price will touch about $15K buddy

We'll see. So far, Ethereum is getting close towards the $2k price range. Fees are soaring like crazy because of the "De-Fi" hype. If people keep pouring money into ETH, prices will only go higher in the upcoming months. And if developers continue to "roll out" new network upgrades, mainstream adoption will rise like skyrocket. Ten years is a lot in the crypto/Blockchain space. Many new and exciting things can happen, leading Ethereum towards new ATHs. If ETH hits $15k in a decade from now, then early adopters will be able to reap lots of profits. Who knows how big the ETH ecosystem will be by then?

Nonetheless, crypto behaves in strange and bizarre ways. So far, Ethereum has retained its position as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. As long as it delivers as promised, it won't be going anywhere. Despite competing chains' recent advancements, none have been able to obtain the level of adoption Ethereum has. Most developers are still building new dApps and tokens on Ethereum (despite its high fees and slow transaction confirmation times). As long as the majority is with ETH, its price will rise all the way to the moon in the not-so-distant future. It seems to me that Ethereum will turn out to become extremely valuable in the future, similar to what is happening with Bitcoin right now. Just my thoughts Grin

What is the point of making such predictions, if nowadays even weather forecast for tomorrow can be wrong and most of the analytics, that draw different graph can only explain why in the past the price went in that direction?

Lets first wait for Ethereum 2.0 to be working properly and hope that it will reduce fees. Otherwise Ethereum competitors in this 10 years will come up with something faster, easier to learn and use, and has lower fees.
I think the main idea is that to share your own thoughts and see how many people agree with you and make a decision based on that. It is not to ask advice from a person who knows it very well but more about sharing ideas to see what is mostly thought about.

By your analogy we could say that this is more about how a ton of weather forecast channels all get together, all share their data, and everyone who uses line of logic says something and people decide based on that, if 100 channels with 100 different weather data get together and 90 of them says there will be rain tomorrow, it is not 100% guaranteed that it will rain, but you still take your umbrella with you just in case anyway. This is the same logic, if 100 people were asked what will happen to eth in 10 years and 90 of them says it will go up, you might just hold to your ETH just in case.

Maybe it would be worth $20k in ten years I guess but yes transaction fee will cost much. I'm starting to think if there will be eth 3.0 in the near future because the transaction fee is too high for me now.. and if you set low gas then it would be take days to confirm the transaction.. so I think we need eth 3.0 upgrade to fix this problem of transaction fee.

Why would you think ETH 3.0 upgrade will fix the high fees? ETH 2.0 was going to do it, or at least it was of its tasks.

Yesterday I have made a transaction and from time to time saw that Metamask offered me to pay +120$ as a fee for a quick transaction. That is an average monthly pension of a Russian pensioner, somewhere in deep of the country. If it continues like that, Ethereum will be dead in a couple of years.

I think that in ten years something radically new will appear in cryptocurrency and will substitute Ethereum.

wow, after ETH 2.0 you predict if ETH 3.0 will be born thats sound amazing
but about your predictions if eth price will be worth $20K in ten years from now, i think its impossible my friend
i think the max price of ethereum is about $15K in ten years, not more than that
Everything is possible on cryptomarket and since ETH is the top altcoins, this can be more possible. ETH still need to improve their system and also need to solve the higher gas fees transactions. Over time, when a big coins goes uptrend, it’ll create a new all time high and 10 years from now, cryptomarket is a big thing.

ETH 2.0 is already in testing phase which developed to resolve the high gas fee hopefully it would get succeed in next few months. While the team is active and doing their best to keep this platform on the top so there is high chance for ETH to get more value in this decade. I think price could $10k in next 10 years.

First, you need to ask the question "If Ethereum exists in 10 years" and only then add "- how much will it cost?" Smiley
Technologies are changing so quickly that any current leaders, in a couple of years, may become such a backward technology that they will simply disappear from the vastness of the crypto market ...

I doubt Ethereum will disappear a decade from now. It's too big to fail. The project's development team is extremely active, staying ahead of the game whenever possible. While ETH competitors have better features, none have been able to outmatch the original smart contract platform's level of decentralization and censorship-resistance. Besides, the number of dApps on the ETH blockchain are growing at a fast pace. If ETH remains popular, we could experience $5k - $10k per coin ten years from now. The next big upgrade dubbed "ETH 2.0" will make things a lot more interesting to "hodlers".

Nonetheless, a cryptocurrency's future is highly uncertain. The odds of ETH losing ground within the next 10 years are very slim. After all, Ethereum is considered by many as the "Bitcoin of altcoins". It's been nearly 12 years since Bitcoin's inception, yet no other cryptocurrency has been able to take its position on the market. The same thing could happen with Ethereum in the future. What truly matters is usability instead of the price per coin. As long as Ethereum is useful, it won't be going anywhere. Who knows what will happen in a decade? Just my thoughts Grin

Over the course of time, whole empires disappeared, and you mean Ether Smiley
In fact, I do not see anything unrealistic in the scenario, if not "leaving the scene" of Ether, then just a strong drop in demand for it. The status of "bitcoin alts" is easy to lose due to more technologically advanced competitors, who also easily and easily support smart contracts from Ethereum. I understand that behind Ether there is a group of large holders who really do not want the "fall of Ethereum", but the technological market also has a process of evolution and the replacement of some "types" with others. Although, I agree that these are just our thoughts, but what is the reality, we will find out after a certain number of years Smiley

Ethereum is the best altcoin until now. Moreover, the prices Ethereum have continued to rise and even managed to reach new ATH prices one week ago.
Ethereum also has a function that is very popular with many people, namely a lot of projects that use the Ethereum blockchain. Even some hype
DeFi projects mostly use the Ethereum blockchain, which is what makes Ethereum's popularity increasing. This also makes the price of Ethereum even
more expensive, because the demand for Ethereum is also increasing. I am sure that in the next 10 years Ethereum will reach a price of $ 5k, so there is
no need to hesitate to invest in Ethereum from now on.

If you look at the high demand for Etherem, and the very rapid growth of ETH, then for the next 10 years I think the price of ETH will reach $8000- $10000, indeed in the cryptocurrency anything can happen, but if we look at the role of ETH in crypto then it will be achieved, and it is very possible if the etherem will always accompany BTC in the future, I am the sure ETH will always follow the development of the crypto,
