Thanks for the post, it's helpful. I think there are still cases wherein even when someone has done the needed things might still ends up falling a victim. I have seen cases where a team with good funds ends up listing on a bad exchange and then exit scam, this was rampant then and made many people to hate most small exchanges. There are also cases where the team will use their funds to list on an exchange, hype it and gain attention, only for them to dump everything and exit scam.
So having seen all these, what I can say is, be mindful of small exchanges and if the team break their promises of listing on a small exchange as a start, dump as fast as possible, because they will hardly list on any other good exchange. Also, if you are in profit, just sell and move on, and even if you want to buy again make sure the team are not using hype to gain attention; but more preferably sell in profit and move on.

Definitely the post is helpful and I would even share this to my friends especially the newly invited to learn about cryptocurrency.

Other than that there are many ways to scam other people and that may even include scamming you without you having the knowledge that your funds were being stolen. If you still wisihing to add more topics related to your thread OP then try to check this thread about phishing that I had made here For your ready reference on phishing.

My dear no matter how careful you are, the tendency of NOT falling for scam project is limited. you can not totally avoid everything. if you follow the guideline you provided, the tendency of not getting affected is high and you might succeed. i think everyone involved in crypto has been SCAMMED in one way or the other.
In reality the risk is really high, hence the more we should be careful when it comes to investing. Investing in altcoins nowadays IMO is not really advisable, unless its an old coins, already have a development and listed in decent exchanges with volumes of $10,000 and up in 24 hours.

That figure is just my own gauge or qualification in choosing an investment.

For us to avoid getting scammed, even the projects states their whitepaper as a good and look real. We shouldn't believe and fall immediately we need to study it first make some deep research about the project carefully so that we aren't going to be fooled.
I definitely agree with this, having good whitepaper does not guarantee that the project is going to be successful it's still depends on the team's performance and community support. There are lots of projects with souch good whitepaper but were not able to perform well which led to its defunct. It is better to scrutinize the project before really getting into it.

There's no doubt that get rich quick schemes and ponzi schemes are of no good to anyone. Most people join this scheme out of greed because of the wealth they promise in very short period of time. This schemes in most cases uses the payment of new members to pay the interest and principal of older members.

I've also been fooled by a project that looks really good whitepapers and even the website is very cool. But somehow the project was lost and there was no news.

After a long time, I got comments like the one you were talking about 'we need to study it first make some deep research about the project carefully.'

Can you explain what you mean?
This will be very valuable to me and the members who don't know

Can you show this project that scammed you and we will try to find signs of scam that people have missed?

By "deep research" people meant: examining whitepaper. No matter how "good" it look, always check it for signs of plagiarism. Check if what is really written there can be realized in real life and be demanded. Or this is all just hopes and imagination of team. Sometimes there projects that dont even need blockchain technology implemented.

Check projects team. Do their photos look real? Or just stock or stolen photos of someone else. Check their social media profiles. They must not be empty, newly created or consist only from projects info. How many times you have seen that a persons works for 3-5 projects, is interested in sports, have lots of hobbies and writes on his wall only about "insert-project-name-here".

Check when their webpage domain was registered. If they say they have already a lot of experience and made a lot of things, but their domain was registered a week ago and is paid only for 1-3 months. Skip this scam.

I really understand that to avoid scamming is very easy because not everyone involves and also believe that scamming is in existence because many people have not experienced scam, if I'm not mistaking, to avoid it, is very clear and quite understanding to people who can control their emotions via investment platforms, what causes scam is over interesting over money, due to excessive profit to acquire in period of time, to avoid bitcoin scamming call - off - investing bitcoin ponzi scheme and do not think to be  rich .
There are two things why other people haven't experienced getting scam. First, they are smart enough not to get trick or deceive by scammers that they already know all of its tricks, and lastly, they are not interested in earning money. So if you want to avoid getting scammed, you need to learn how to control your greed and research before you risk your money in projects.

There is a lot for the crypto investors need to avoid because if we do that we can avoid losing a lot of money.
But sometimes even we don't to get scammed or losing money we still experienced it because we are not perfect to know all the legit investment because sometimes those scammers are good in hiding their true colors so people get scammed or losing money.

I have found this on Twitter and I think that is so true,

Especially the moon boys, very similar to paid shillers but this time scam shillers . One hot scam of late that often starts on Facebook or Telegram involves messages that appear to be from friends suggesting that your friend knows how you can get grant money during the pandemic. I have received one of those :

“The friend will say: ‘I was able to get this money. Here’s the link. Check it out,’ ” .
scammers are everywhere, be aware.

Having a decent whitepaper and a good looking website doesn't guarantee the success of the project. You can create all these for $1,000 using a freelancing site. The trick lies with the implementation of the project. A lot of these projects start with a lot of hype, and then suddenly after 2-3 months all the activity comes to a grinding halt. Unfortunately for the investors, by the time they realize this all of their capital will be gone.

FOMO and rushing are tools that one can use right without getting burnt in the process, FOMO have bring me good results and also bad results, I later realize that FOMO is only good if the project you are FOMO'ing on has what it takes, to me it's still all down to how reliable the project is or what the project team are capable of, I rushed into FOMO of a project at 1$ and it turn 2$ later

Avoiding Scams is difficult now, especially since many sites and scam projects make us confused,
but to invest in old projects I think it's the only way to avoid scammers, Ethereum or Ripple is obviously very trustworthy

Invest in the listed coins which known and reputed ones as this will help you to reduce the risk of getting scammed. Something like ETH, BNB, GAS etc are good coins and good project to invest as well. For the new one would need to do a lot of research and then take a call before investing as in recent year many turn out to be a scam or worthless coin in the end. If not able to identify and pick the right ones, then better to avoid such projects.
Bitcoin is the best investment of all time Cool To put bitcoin prices into investment profit and loss terminology, if you had invested five years ago, you would be sitting on a profit of thousands of percent. If you had invested $500 on October 24, 2010, congratulations, that was the time to buy as you’re a bitcoin multi-millionnaire! Your $500 is now worth an incredible $42,000,000 Shocked

For a person who wants to avoid scam, he should not have much confidence in everything he sees and verify the validity of any information or message that comes and make sure that he deals with the official website and not a fake site, and that he does not put his private key in any suspicious application or Google form, and he must not Be greedy and refuse any temptations.

The Standard Protocol - Solving Inflation
October 23, 2020, 04:33:10 AM
This is some nice piece of information here, good one infact, fomo and greed has always been the major problem for everyone, it made so many people including me lose huge amount of money back then in 2017,greed is the deadliest, I remember back then in 2017 when everything was booming, I invested in a project with about $1000 when the token got listed it skyrocketed and i was on a $7000 profit already, I was supposed to have sold it, but I was greedily waiting for it to rise up to $10,000 so I can dump the coins, suddenly everything came down crashing and I lost about 80% of that profits, I was able to come out with just $1400, I learnt alot from it since then.

Living the truth....
October 23, 2020, 01:24:45 AM
Recently I received an email from a fake peson pretend to be the ICO and asked my deposit money into their smart contract, I want to say that you should always check the email address domain and make sure the domain of the email is the same as the website domain that you wish to invest, these kinds of emails come officially and no one uses Gmail or yahoo domain to send these emails if it's real.

I think what causes this type of unwanted situation is ignorance and greed. People are too greedy that sometimes they throw their money at any uncertain place. You should be careful about any investment plan you offered in the telegram and the project you are investing in. Only invest through a verified Exchange or a reputable website. You can trust a reputable figure in crypto also.
Its a human nature to be greedy sometimes, unfortunately it is the main reason why some people are ending up in a wrong hands of scammers. Because they chose the easy way or the too good to be true offer just to earn quick which is not possible in crypto world.

To avoid scammers, dont trust easily. Keep learning about the nature of investment you want to get in and be aware of what to expect. Its fine to commit mistake sometimes because thats how you'll learn and understand further the investment.
