There are important reasons why it is beneficial to add the bitcointalk icon to the homescrewn of your mobile phone or laptop;
  • One of the reasons is that it will enable people know that you are into bitcointalk and they will respect you in your environment.
It's a way to doxx you if you have your profile on your home screen, they can see who you are, and your earnings in your signature, and people could or might post you and expose you.

Quote
  • Another reason is that seeing the icon on your mobile home screen will always remind you that you are a member of BTT. You know because of stress at work, you may forget that you belong here and make posts
Have you experienced that?  I don't, its a habit for me especially if you are an obligation on the project you are promoting

If you think that these reasons aren't enough you may go to court and sue the OP for making a helpless post to you.
On my own I have no reason to put Bitcointalk on my screen I'm comfortable to know that I am proud and an active member.

Mate I believe you are suggesting some people to add their Bitcointalk profile to their home screen, but what have you done about it? Don't you think the opposite side of what you're trying to tell us here is quite risky? My bitcointalk profile is incredibly personal, and I cannot allow anyone else to get access to it. Don't you think if you give someone your phone to do something for you, like check something or reset something, he'll have easy access to your bitcointalk account?
So, in my opinion, adding BTT profiles to home screens is extremely risky because anyone may easily gain access to my BTT account, regardless of how secure it is. I'm sure after it's added there, and the phone is unlocked, it will show, which is really simple I know, but what about someone who may know your phone security, what do you think about them?

Do I also get the same respect if I made Facebook or Twitter in my Phone Home screen

If you are in a campaign or you have posted that you need answers you will not forget even if you have too many drinks on the way home, or you will excuse dating your GF just to get home, I don't need a phone to remind me every time I get home there is a need to open my pc and when I open my pc there is a need to open Bitcointalk and when I log in to Bitcointalk there is a need to post that's what you call habit

Honestly, I’m using BTT every other 10-15 minutes and accessing it from my chrome browser. I am not sure how but chrome has already added it to my home screen automatically. Imagine the level of usage I’m having with bitcointalk. Lolz.

This does help me to access it quickly if I have closed all the pages but besides that there is nothing interesting about it. Moreover, you can also bookmark it and it’s applicable to almost all the browsers out there.

OP, thank you for sharing, no offense...  but I don't see anything interesting about what you shared or should I say i was expecting you to tell us the importance of having bitcointalk on our phones's home screen but you failed to do that.

Since bitcointalk does not have an official app for the Andriod and iPhones, perhaps by adding to the home screen, a person can experience or think it as an app and when you click on it, you go directly to your bitcointalk home/profile page. Or the other reason maybe to be easily accessible on the desktop of your phone.

I understand that everyone here is trying to protect their bitcoin talk account, but I can tell you that nobody cares for your account

This statement shows that you do not know the importance of your bitcointalk account. Believe me it is almost a nightmare to recover your account if it is hacked so better change your mind set about it and try to protect your account in every way possible. Making it login in the mobile phone 24/7 is not a good idea in my point of view.

I don’t understand, what advantage an app can do besides just optimised UI for the phone. Besides that, phone app would be much more complex whole posting the BBCODE, writing bigger version of posts, constructing tables and everything.

That would be fine for simple post but not for the complex post.

It all depends on what you want and how you see it from your own side. If OP is cool with having BTT on his own screen, then he should ho ahead but he should also take some security measures,in order not to give people access to his phone or his btt account for safety because nobody is to be trusted. I will not do such a thing, because my btt account means a lot to be just like my bitcoin wallet is. I will not my privacy if my put btt on my home screen because hackers might take advantage of your action.

There is this saying, "Prevention is better than cure." Well, I really think it is not necessarily important to even put BTT on the home screen. How long can it take someone with just four or five clicks to log on to their account if they want to? Instead of risking what can take them more hours or days to settle, should they just make a little mistake that can get their account compromised, unless it is someone who has not really had any good reputation in the forum. Just yesterday, there was a guy who was appealing for his banned BTT account. Someone gained access to his account and used it to post a malware link that got deleted, and his account was banned. This is just something too good to risk.

Sir Your  absolutely perfect.
Cut the sir crab (LoL) just Dr. Bitcoin Strange. As I previously stated above, taking precautions is preferable to seeking solutions after the situation has deteriorated.

Thanks to the op who shared a nice idea on this forum, though it's a little careless for one to do so but I have to tell those that are not satisfied with the idea of the op that is a nice thread because their are many of us who are not regularly coming to this forum and even those who are in a signature campaign and sometimes based on their monthly jobs they forget to do their activities on the forum.
Adding Bitcoin talk to your cellphone or a PC will constantly remind you that you have an activity to take on the forum, I don't regularly come on forum and I know is because I don't have the forum on my home screenen.
Jesus Christ. You know that you can use the full stop key, right? It's not illegal, and makes it look like a sound human wrote the text. So you can't remember to visit the forum because there is no Bitcointalk logo on your phone? How do the rest of us manage it? Change your home screen, by all means, before you forget about Bitcointalk completely. I am just worried you will forget to use the bathroom if you do it, and then do poopy in your pants.

But it's really not necessary to add sensitive information to the home screen; instead, it should be hidden for security's sake. The day my friends encountered rubbers on the street, the rubbers collected their phones, and when they saw the banking app on their phone home screen, the rubbers asked them to open the app and transfer all funds to their account, and they made off with it and their phone.
Your  absolutely perfect. All financial apps should have strong security measures in place as thieves have become quite advanced in their tactics. They can trace and hack your financial accounts, and if your mobile phone is stolen having your financial account displayed on the home screen could make you vulnerable to substantial losses. Bitcoin talk is also a financial account that we use.

Don't mind sir If you share such information that is helpful for beginners you can post it in the Beginners and Help section. It is also important to understand which topic and discussion is appropriate for posting such information

Good day forum moderators and mates, I feel like dropping his thread here because I think is useful to this medium.
First of all I want to guide you guys on how to add your Bitcointalk profile to your smartphone or PC home screen with the help of BRAVE browser app, and here are the steps.
Making a link to a website page on the homescreen is not any unique things. and it doesn't just require the BRAVE browser to do it. this can be done from any browser. and widely used google browser chrome is more perfect for this. But these forum lovers and smart people never forget an important and necessary website link.  So I don't see any need to homescreen this forum link  Sad

I never thought about this being possible, but i believe that there are some other features that could be easily accessed by using the desktop device unlike the mobile versions, having this on the screen being displayed as shortcut is very interesting and makes it simple to launched through the forum, but we also need to consider the privacy aspect that involves as well because not everyone will like to let everyone knows about them being recognized with the forum fron a third party.

Op thank you for your tutorial and I think many user here in forum that will add Bitcointalk forum to their home screen and Yes like what they said above there are negative and positive about adding bitcointalk to our home screen and one of that is once we open our phone then it's easy to access immediately in the forum and also some people will know that you are in here. But for security purpose then it's better to not add in our home screen.

OP nothing is wrong with having it on your home screen but something might go wrong. Sometimes you forget that is not only you that have access to your phone, imagine you making use of your account and you forget to logout and your friend who doesn't have any idea on what goes on in this forum, like he/she breaks one of the rules while using your account and later you found out that your account have been given a red flag, what would you do? Nothing but blame yourself for being careless.
To me I don't think is even cool to have your Bitcointalk profile on your home screen, because you can't be 100% careful.

It's a common trick I think, however, it's not necessary to do this because if someone accesses your phone like your friends they might able to go through your account easily. I mean it's the same thing if you save your password on your phone, tabs are already saved on your browsers if you don't close them so you can easily access bitcoin talk within a few touches.

I mean sure might be helpful to some members who use the forum on mobile a lot.

One of the reasons is that it will enable people know that you are into bitcointalk and they will respect you in your environment.

No man, they will "respect" the foolhardiness, then proceed to change the password as soon as possible.

Hahahaha seriously though, as you have said either people will never care, or people will ask you what you are doing and what is he using. Well, let him be, maybe that is his preference to add BTT on his homescreen.

I understand that everyone here is trying to protect their bitcoin talk account, but I can tell you that nobody cares for your account because I don't think giving your phone to someone for a couple of minutes and the person will hack your account, no the person will not hack your account, I can use my self for instance, nobody knows what am doing with my cellphone people always think am chatting with someone or playing video game with my cell phone.
More importantly, is not good to share your cell phone with friends, especially the ones that contain your important details.
My friend, this isn't social media in which you can just let anybody see what you are doing or flex and brag just because they didn't know about this. We do get your point that nobody or only a few people near you should understand and are familiar to this forum, but in so many cases if people will realize why, you always on your phone, they will surely ask what you are doing and to let them see it. So, what are you going to do with that? tell them you didn't do anything just browsing and playing games? or tell them it's a secret? You will only make them more curious. In short you are attracting unnecessary problems for the future, but we do get it that it is just your own preference and you just wanted to share something to contribute.

Different browsers have this future that allows you to add something to the home screen for easy access, but we're talking about privacy here; when you add your forum profile link to your home screen, it means you've given everyone direct access to your forum account, which is very wrong; you may think your friends can't compromise or hack your account, but once they have full access to your phone, they can do more to get your password and that's all.

In my opinion one should never share personal things with anyone. Now you may have a very good friend but one day it will be seen that if a rift develops between you, your friend will not even think of harming you.

I think it is risky to keep your profile on homescreen. The best way to protect your account is to always log out of your account. Because if you log out of your account, when a friend or relative uses your device, they will not see the account active even if they enter the browser.

Although I do not allow anyone else to use my device, I always log out of my account after using it for maximum security. So that no one else can know my account information. And it is better not to keep your account profile on the home screen.
