In this way, not only the profile of the account can be home screen, you can also keep anything from Google as home screen.
However, this approach has some advantages. For example, you don't have to search the forum on google every time, if you want to see your profile, just click on the home screen site and it will take you directly to the profile, which is a very easy method.
Different browsers have this future that allows you to add something to the home screen for easy access, but we're talking about privacy here; when you add your forum profile link to your home screen, it means you've given everyone direct access to your forum account, which is very wrong; you may think your friends can't compromise or hack your account, but once they have full access to your phone, they can do more to get your password and that's all.

Without a doubt, the method is good and will make it easier for a user to access their account on time, but I don't believe it will be difficult if a user who values his/her account takes the time to follow the proper due process to access their account for security reasons.

Adding the bitcointalk profile to the home screen is useful when you enter the browser to access the forum faster. The disadvantage is that it can be noticed by anyone who has access to your phone, which can lead to them having access to your forums account, which can be insecure, especially when you’re always logged in. I'm not sure if browsers allow you to lock a specific page that contains important information, but if they do, that's fantastic, and they should not store user information such as passwords, usernames, and so on.

I say i was expecting you to tell us the importance of having bitcointalk on our phones's home screen but you failed to do that.

There are important reasons why it is beneficial to add the bitcointalk icon to the homescrewn of your mobile phone or laptop;
  • One of the reasons is that it will enable people know that you are into bitcointalk and they will respect you in your environment.
  • Another reason is that seeing the icon on your mobile home screen will always remind you that you are a member of BTT. You know because of stress at work, you may forget that you belong here and make posts
  • Having the icon on your home screen will enable you check frequently if theymos has taken down the forum as he threatened
.
If you think that these reasons aren't enough you may go to court and sue the OP for making helpless post to you.

BTT is similar to other forums as no one cares who their members are, so how does this make one respectable in the environment? I'm curious, and I'd like to hear it.

I am sorry that you took my post literally without seeing the scarsm aspect of it. I was trying to justify the reason OP made the post in a jovial way hence there is no justifiable reason or neither is the subject matter important to the forum users.

Have theymos ever threatened to take the site down?

No, he hasn't. Just trying to make up reasons for OP and others who care to add BTT icon to their desktop or home screen.

Well, there's more to the forum than you thought, and theymos don't have absolute power to do whatever he wants; have you read about who owns the forum domain? It's an interesting read, but I'm too lazy to look for the link

No, theymos has absolute power and control of the bitcointalk.org domain. I read the thread were he started that there is from henceforth a distinction between bitcointalk.org and Bitcoin.org.
That is why here is called theymos forum.

Adding it to the home screen does nothing, man; not only brave browser, but many other browsers offer this option as well. If I were you, I would not add this forum to my home screen for 101 security seasons.
well, it does make it a lot easier to go to the forum when using your phone and but yeah, doing this does compromise the security of your account, but if OP doesn't care about the security of his account then this is good for him but I don't recommend other members doing this. it would be better if OP only add the bitcointalk to your home screen instead of his bitcointalk profile.

Who doesn't care about the security of his account? Well, adding the home page or the profile is still the same, it compromises your privacy and raises the red flag for account security.

Having the forum as your wall paper or home screen is indeed a good way to promote not just the forum but Bitcoin to people who access your phone. Though, it's not advisable to release your device to people without having a closer look on how they operate your phone, yet it's also good to see that you accomplished your aim of making your forum profile a home screen. It can help you stay consistent in the forum, as it'll be a reminder that you've not visited the forum in a while. Always stay secure.

Leo is resting.
I understand that everyone here is trying to protect their bitcoin talk account, but I can tell you that nobody cares for your account because I don't think giving your phone to someone for a couple of minutes and the person will hack your account.

This is unbelievable and am more curious about this because it's coming from someone who's in a community where security and privacy is not just advised but also followed. Let's assume that you made this statement out of curiosity but how do you advise and convince a newbie that nobody cares for your account and because of this you shouldn't protect your phone by not giving it out to random people how?

Your phone is your privacy and being a member here you ought to have learnt about the importance of security and privacy else you will easily fall for hackers or scammers who will likely gain access to your phone as a result of lack of security. In less then one minute a smart hacker will hack into your phone or system and all the information in your phone will be gone, I won't support adding bitcointalk profile to my phone screen because I will put my self in danger.

You tried to share something but it's not relevant because most of the members login on forum with desktop devices as it's more compatible there so they have no problems or even if you use it on mobile devices some have login permanently so they just visit the browser and saved captcha redirect them to forum if they type b keyword only on search bar so need to save it to home screen. As others have already said it also risk your privacy so you should avoid doing it.

Brave browser is not a good one to use. It is Chromium-base browser and it broke its motto to build a browser for user privacy but later ask KYC to claim $BAT reward.
At first I was also in dilution that Brave browser is good for privacy but later on when I checked about it then came to know that it's also chromium based and has nothing to do with your privacy. The user have complained about $BAT rewards point system also so it's better not to use it for safe search and if you want privacy then Firefox configured properly or Tor are the best options for user.

OP, thank you for sharing, no offense...  but I don't see anything interesting about what you shared or should I say i was expecting you to tell us the importance of having bitcointalk on our phones's home screen but you failed to do that.

Well I think it is to give one easy access to the forum without having the need to open one's browsers which is really cool. Bookmark does almost the same thing only that you need to open the browsers to access it.

OP made a useless post (not that it's completely useless) because people usually already know what he's talking about. But, even so, the OP has tried to be useful in the forum. That's what I appreciate from the OP. For OP, try to make posts that have never been on the board, because that's what users of this forum really want to see.

Now whatever that have advantage has disadvantages as well, if you add this to your home screen have you also considered your friends having easy access to your btt account?
Or have you forgotten about other who may know about Bitcointalk pretend they don't know anything about it and after which they might steal your login details and change your email.

I suggest you should protect your btt account the way you safeguard your private key and seed phrase, reason being that if your account is hack it could be used for evil either to take a loan and scamming people around the forum. Be very mindful with your btt account mate.
Btw, if your account is a member account there are people who wishes to have legendary account and I believe no legendary here would even try to do that shit on their profile by putting it on home screen so for me I care about my account if you don't know.

More importantly, is not good to share your cell phone with friends, especially the ones that contain your important details.

I slept in a co-worker's house recently because I needed to carryout a task at my work place the next day and staying with him will help me save some transportation cost. This guy almost made me scared because of they way he was staring at my phone. Each time I wanted to post on the platform he was always coming close to me and wanted to know exactly what I was doing. I had to go to a barbershop to take an unplanned haircut because I needed some privacy.

The belief that nobody cares about what you are doing with your phone is not true. Currently scammers or hackers don't even need to handle your phone to carryout their nefarious activities, just looking at your phone is just enough. Adding my Bitcointalk profile to my phone homescreen is the last thing I would do because it cannot only attract scammers but criminals. Almost everybody knows that bitcoin is expensive and seeing bitcointalk on you phone screen might give criminals the idea that you own bitcoin. I have been introducing people to bitcoin and forum but there are some persons I will never tell that I have any relationship with Bitcoin.

Who knows and do you know about that? Are you sure?  Huh

Personally I am not sure what others will look at my laptop screen when I am in public place and I am always try to not let them see my screen. It is about public view on my laptop and I do know risk when we use public Wifi.

You are very carelessly with your personal accounts. Good luck!

Your habit (good or bad) will be built up by your daily activities. Like your careless style above, you will move from being careless with unimportant information, accounts to important accounts.

I hope you won't have to learn your hard lessons in future!

Lol what?
Nobody cares about our account?
Tell me something, there are people with more than one accounts (let's take the case of jamalaezaz as that was the recent I remember due to his apology thread). If someone takes his mobile ffs, he/she would easily be able to get into his personal world and would get all the details of his alt accounts he is currently handling or have abandoned. That's one thing.

However, those with single accounts like you (probably), me and everyone here would definitely not want our accounts to either be used or compromised and there are several things that one can add on their homescreen, like gambling websites where they gamble often, informative websites where they read a lot (like news sites), websites where they're learning something through online courses, etc. But nobody does that because if someone (even if your closed ones) know about it, where's the privacy here? Would you like to shout loud about what you've been doing in your life and keep things super transparent about yourself? Then it won't bother you, else you'll definitely not want to share your phone to anybody with all major things available on your home screen itself.

It's not just about whether someone will (or won't) hack your BTT account (or any other) while they have access to your device, it's also about protecting your privacy. It is true that your account in terms of rank and reputation is not worth much, but some other accounts for hackers would certainly have a significant value if they could be hacked and be in their possession for at least a few hours.

You may think that no one knows, but do you know who is looking over your shoulder - whether you are sitting on a bench or riding a bus, there are always curious people. If you are already giving your smartphone to someone, today most of them have the option of locking each individual app, so that no one can access anything you don't want them to see.

First of all I want to guide you guys on how to add your Bitcointalk profile to your smartphone or PC home screen with the help of BRAVE browser app, and here are the steps.
Brave browser is not a good one to use. It is Chromium-base browser and it broke its motto to build a browser for user privacy but later ask KYC to claim $BAT reward.

Pin your profile on the home screen or on task bar is bad. It directly exposes it to anyone who by any means can access your devices. It is like you self-break a first protection for your account.

Like you show them, I have a Bitcoin wallet on this smartphone, come here and see what you can deal with it.

Important question, do you always log in your account on your devices?

You did have bad practice but it is time to change it. In addition, you should sign a Bitcoin message (with Electrum wallet, available for Desktop and Android), stake it. Later you can use it as proof of account ownership and it is useful for your account recovery.

First of all, I must commend your effort for taking time and trying to offer help for easy access to forum but that been said, I would like to inform you that every browser can do this and besides, I would not recommend for security purposes. Having forum on your PC home screen or phone home screen will expose your forum account and might lead to your account being hacked easily. By having it on your home screen simply means anyone that have access to your phone or computer automatically have access to your forum account.
