There is no way to stop fraudulent activities so you have to be careful on the projects that you're investing into. Just do your own research about the project especially the team and their whitepaper coz some are just copying their whitepaper from others. DYOR is the key!

Be willing to learn, be willing to be hard working, don't keep things you don't know unknown to yourself, this forum for example has everything a newbie can ever need to know about crypto and how to be on safer side, crypto is full of risks and to manage risks you need some knowledge

You  can only minimize the chance of be scam not totally eradication of scam, because some project are real from the beginning but due to insufficient fund, it can make the project not to be succeeded and the project will  now look as if it was fake.
It really is. We cannot completely avoid fraudulent and simply unsuccessful ICO projects. Fraudulent projects are still widespread as ICOs are still not regulated by states. It is necessary that the states check and register the members of the ICO team, perhaps even issue a license for this type of activity. Then the level of fraud among new ICO projects will be very low.
Many projects are classified as fraudulent because ICO team members do not have sufficient experience and therefore make many mistakes that ultimately lead to its lifelessness. This cannot be foreseen.

a question that is very difficult for anyone to solve. because fraud is a job for those who take shortcuts. we can be honest in the work we do now but for fraudsters will continue to commit fraud in accordance with their abilities in whatever field they are good at. then my advice to be able to avoid fraud is to learn something that we do well and correctly and follow the rules that have been enacted.

I think there is still a way to overcome the problem of scamers in this crypto room (but I'm not saying to eliminate it completely). . This might not have a big effect but at least it can reduce some of the fraud projects that exist in this industry. . like avoiding and not promoting suspicious projects repeatedly. .
I have always observed that many of them and even have high ratings but still support suspicious projects, especially participants (social media).
maybe this is one reason why many fraud projects are increasingly rampant, because someone always gives hope to them and makes someone trapped in it.

so what do you think?
I draw the conclusion above based on what I saw there.
Of course the bounty hunters who have been here for a good amount of time are already avoiding those projects that are very obvious and suspicious but what we cannot control are those newbies who want to earn their first money by bounty hunting. Even if we can easily see a shit project but newbies are very blind about it so it is pretty difficult to avoid them completely because they can surely get a support from newbies.

So what will be good is for the forum moderators to monitor closely all the incoming newbie so we can guide them correctly without falling to those fraudulent project and supporting them. And to those high rankings that promote a suspicious project, it will be good if they will be reported or banned as they are making the forum from good to worst.

There are few things we can do to avoid fraudulent projects on crypto, the most important one is due diligence.
Without doing that, we will have high possibility to getting scammed by fraud projects.
Always DYOR before deciding to investing because our money is valuable to be wasted.

It's possible for an investor to avoid scam projects but almost impossible for a bounty hunter not to promote scam projects directly or indirectly. Some projects that have been tagged scam suddenly do well. Ixium (XXA) that was tagged a scam has been listed and planning on their road map

So the big question should be how can we actually differenciate between a scam and a legit project?

90% is a conservative number. Remember that a scam is a scam not only because it has scammed but also because it does not intend to ever build or develop something if it did not raise any money. Bitcoin never needed money to develop, yet it did and continues to. What does that say about other projects?
We have seen many promising projects in the past that were able to collect millions and had progress for a while shut down after a while and that is the case with majority of the projects, only a few survive till now and considering that is the way the market is taking shape for a long time there is no way we could certainly say that the project will be successful, so the risk is always there if you plan to invest in any project in the alt coin fury.

maybe you mean like participating in social media campaigns? I guess it's common, I mean you can see for yourself that most social media participants always follow every project that comes up, whether it's a good project or the most important bad project for them to be able to join in it. my advice, reconsider before participating in the bounty and do detailed research about the project you want to follow.

Because of the coronavirus, the screen time of the community is increasing, a lot of people are almost like getting used to this kind of platform or in online.

We cannot stop scammers in their intent by what we could do is just to avoid them, in my opinion, a lot of people or newbies falling for this is just because of greed. For a bounty, project is this already a classic thing to do since we already know that there are just so many fraud projects here we could just check carefully about the team, developer or the company of the project and verify it, do some research if they are really a legitimate company at some point we can't really accurate every time.

More than 90% of scam projects exist in this forum. Therefore, it is difficult for you to stay away from them even though you have done many research steps. Surely you will encounter a few scam projects in the future because we can not know their purpose. So we should only invest in the top altcoins in this market, those are good projects that we should care about.

it will be hard to find out which one are the good ones and which are the fraudulent projects but there are also some othere threads around here on bitcointalk with information which are good/bad but it is always the best to find as much info as possible from other channels and the teammembers

So many scam projects here and it is still increasing. For sure we cannot stop them the only thing we could do is help others and remind them to be aware.

In able to avoid fraudulent projects you need to be intelligent. In able to be intelligent you must make a right decision. The first thing that you must do is to research gain more informations about your coins or on how you can make your coins bigger and higher in value. You must search for the legit websites that offers investments. Through this you can invest your money in the investment websites and then wait for the charts and trades. You can sell your coin when the value becomes higher or else you can buy coins when the value is a bit lower. Through yhat you may gain so much return on investment.

From my observations this far, any project that's tagged as scam in the forum don't get promoted because even the promoters get red tags if they continue with the promotion. In terms of not promoting flagged scam projects, the forum is doing well on that side. We should look at another means of detecting the scam projects early enough.

Do careful research, check whitepaper, team dev, partners and investors .... If all is transparent and they have big investors then you can participate in their bounty campaigns. It has a higher chance of success than other projects

The best and safest way for you not to encounter scam projects is to never try to invest in new projects. We cannot know its future and it may die or scam in the future. In 2019 I saw hundreds of well-evaluated and promising projects, but after a few months those projects disappeared and became scams.

It will be enough to always check the availability of information about the project on the network. Often, most of the scam projects are identified very quickly, resulting in a lot of topics and forum posts saying why the project scam. If there is no such information and the project is quite young, then just wait a while before investing in it, maybe the information will appear soon.
conducting research on the project in question is the right step to prevent fraud against the project. but, even though it's not 100% successful, it can reduce the scam of a project. Well, until now, I did that, and the results were quite satisfying. I prefer projects that are certain even though the prize is not that big compared to taking risks by choosing a project that has a large prize, but it's not very clear.

It is not really easy to completely stop fraudulent projects because some might even succeed in listing before exiting scam or even listing and gradually withdrawing from the project, but to an extent we can help stop them by trying our best to make sure we check the team thoroughly at the same time checking their social media activities to know if they are still active as always or not. Also I think going for projects which already have an active product is a good idea, at least it shows the team are already working on something.
