To earn free altcoins, joined airdrops, bounties and give away. Some altcoins that going to be listed on one exchange, they have some promotion, don't miss it. When I was a newbie, I signed different faucet, but it's not that worth it.
Seems like virtually everyone started with faucets to earn free coins. But faucets are total waste of time. If you want free coins, you will have to work for it. The good thing is you dont have to do much than put your social media accounts(twitter, facebook, Instagram) to use by retweeting/sharing or making posts about the projects. Also you can make videos and articles which qualifies you for the free coins at the end of the campaign

That is the fact now. Although there are many new bounties, most of them are unclear, less promising, and can lead to scams. Even if the airdrop is joined, it doesn't matter because it is very small, except for airdrops that are actually carried out by a quality project or coin/token. Just try to update news from upbit, usually, the airdrop is quite profitable. but the bounty now is not as good as years ago, even the value of the bounty is now almost the same as the faucet, the condition of the income from the bounty is now very small than in the past. maybe in the future if you want to get income from crypto we have to trade in exchange.
I have been in the crypto world since a long time but i have not been able to make my portfolio and never earned anything...i dont have much cash that i can buy many different coins....i have only 0.01 btc right now

if I follow some airdrops and bounties, but at this time it is rarely the airdrops and bounties that really pay and have absolutely no value. it's better to trade and pay a small but profitable fee.

You can join airdrops to get some altcoin just doing simple task, and go to gambling site to get reward from rain then you have chance to get more altcoins. So, what you will choose?
Have you studied the cryptocurrency ecosystem to the maximum? Have you found the most effective way according to your ability? if not, please explore first. Start by analyzing your skills, if you have a trading background in forex, for example, it will not be difficult to adapt to cryptocurrency trading. If you are a writer or content creator, then use your ability to support the project through a bounty campaign. Even if you want a free one, join airdrop, but don't expect big results, it's very rare. Later you can also get free cryptocurrency from just playing games or watching videos, let's try harder to search diligently.
At least to earn altcoins it's not really free because you sacrifice time and effort for the expected income goals. So that way, then at least you need the skills to earn desired, when you have a lot of skills that can be put to good use then you can open or create a service that basically can be practiced here. It sometimes we just put it into luck and you are right. Even some successful bounties never have a good market value which means that we can't be ascertained if that project could be profitable or not.
Last 2016-2017 are the great days for bounties and really amazing to seems them become valuable but it wasn't long to stay and they suffer a huge dump. We can't expect bounties today to be like that again, really it wasn't as they become undervalued because of their stupid doing of some developers.

I believe that participating in an air drop and providing passport data is almost a waste of time with huge risks. The fact is that the reward received for air drops is not comparable with the risk of losing personal data. It is best to take part in Bounty companies, while choosing more or less promising projects. With the help of rewards for a bounty company, you can buy a certain amount of altcoin, because participating in a bounty campaign where they can pay for Bitcoin or Ethereum is almost impossible or it is very difficult to participate in them. Therefore, with the help of the Bounty company, you need to earn start-up capital and trade and buy altcoin on the cryptocurrency market .

Maybe keep update on airdrop site will be good. Because airdrops is something that can help us earn tokens or coins from a project. Maybe you can do anything to do it, like in steem, brave browser, anything you can do you can maximize to earn coin and money of course.
I think Bounties right now is probably a good and reasonable choice if you want to make money besides airdrops or miners.
Newbies can't really make much from bounties, Because currently there aren't much good bounties, Even if there is one it has a lot of people signed up around which makes allocation lower to everyone. There are other ways like blogging (Steemit), Creating Dapps or anything that you're good at like programming, designing etc.. and selling it for Bitcoins.

AS always there are some good things to do to earn alternative coins and even BITCOIN.
1. AIRDROP - this is simple and easy steps to follow and join and you will get free in due time.
2. Bounty - this one you need to work and follow the rules, you must meet the work condition also.
3. Faucet you can also earn on this but i dont recommend it to anyone.
Previously there were some bounty campaigns paid with the listed altcoins but you only can see tokens, you only need to check and confirm the best bounty programs bylearning their white paper and team information.
There are people still coming up with the new scam projects, I advice newbies to stay from such projects and please read more on scam accusation board to understand the best and worst projects.

True, in 2017 when you started you could get very decent money on airdrops but now it is unrealistic. The cost of such tokens is about a few tens of cents - a couple of dollars; and to transfer them to the exchange, you need to pay a fee. It's not worth it now. Informed correctly wrote that to earn some altcoins/token in bounty campaigns.
