I recall when merit was just like "freshly" implemented back in 2018, and Meta was like under attack with those "merit fishing" thread like just generic thoughts of newbies to merit. From the past months, from what I observed, merit fishers are now attacking this board with "yet another plagiarism" or "yet another merit" thread.
probably they just target the boards where most merits are shared but they never realize that only the real discussion will attract people to make some discussion and thought sharing situations.

Irrespective a quality post, its the reader who reads and accepts that that is a worth post giving information and being a quality post, give a merit to it. At times a quality post is not read by many and that goes off unmerited. But yes as like, every other platform, consistency will pay off. Yes, a quality post will one day be acknowledged irrespective of where and on what board its posted.

Dear All,

I m new to Bitcointalk forum as a member but I was referring it since more than a year for many topics Smiley Cheesy. Finally I thought It is a good time to connect with here as a member Cool. I want to know how do we earn merits Huh? What should I do?

What are the limitations of Bitcointalk forum Huh?

Highly appreciate your replies here. Kiss
I see threads like this, my eyes stay pinned on your merit, post and activity series with an expectation that, at least your activity and post count must have been way up to constitute a issue for the author but, have been disappointed a few times like in your case. They are low, your account @Op was created an hour before you made this post, no doubt ther is a possibility of an introduction and telling what is what but, coming the next minute to create a thread talking about earning merits makes it look like your just trolling and that doesn't help so much.

Abolish that idea and stick to learning, contribute positive ideas, bring new information to the forum and be you! Then the merits would come!

understanding,every topic they share.
Not really, there is no guarantee that you will earn merits for all your good post which is worthy because even an extraordinary post/thread maybe buried under spam but yeah it is the way and don't expect the merits for your contribution. Let the contribution of you to bitcointalk and one day the things will come to you which is better than chasing it.

Nowadays, newbies are hungry for merits- like the first thing that they do is to create an account and open similar threads like these. It is noteworthy to mention, however, that contribution will most likely increases the chance of gaining merits but newbies should deviate from this mindset and view.

When you create an account on this forum, change your perspective about these 'merits'. Instead, focus on creating actual threads that promote discussion and knowledge. Avoid asking questions that have been asked already and create threads that spark interest and focus on the topic.
Merit hunters will be there as long as merit system is in practice so we should adapt to these kind of threads. Cheesy

Maybe there is chance of a legit newbie to have such question in their mind but when someone is having the intention of gathering knowledge will try to research as much as possible before creating such questions.

Merits aren't that difficult to attain, just go through the forum's rules and ensure to keep them....
Try posting frequently and make your post as interactive as possible.

Nonetheless, you shouldn't center your mind on just earning merits, also think of ways you can give out informative and timely informations to the forum with this, you wouldn't be loosing focus but gradually and unconsciously attaining your goal..
Welcome💝

Oh that's why you only got 1 merit since October since you didn't think that getting merit is harder than you think  Cheesy, Anyways getting merits is not about only like that since there are several thread or information posted without acquiring any merit. Sometimes you need to be humorous or shall we say on point when posting something so that you can get the merit what you want.

But maybe its not good to focus upon hunting it since there are only few members here actively giving a merit to anyone who post their personal opinions so maybe focus to learn new things or gather information on what you want to focus on venturing on crypto.

I want to know how do we earn merits Huh? What should I do?
Some members have explained and shown how to get (merit).

in my opinion it's easy for you to get...!
I give an example:
Have you ever been in elementary school to high school, I think it's common for everyone to go to school.

Here comes the question again, have you ever got (rank 1/achievement) in school, if ever what you did, studied, knowledge, creative ideas and answered all the exams given by the teacher, didn't you.

So, in this forum it's not much different from what you do in school, you're smart you get (Merit) you're not smart you don't get (Merit), do you understand what I mean, if yes, that's great and if not, I don't know what to say to the OP.

Good luck to (Merit).

See i would like to advise you to explore the forum to the extent you can do and find the best suitable guide for you that could lend a helping hand in earning merit.

There are some ways by which you can earn merits easily like there are some newbies merit giving thread on which you can complete the requirements and get merit as reward such as by @OgNasty and @Ratimov and you could probably find them on 1-2 page on B&H section. You could also try this test if you wish to do so and others but search for them.

Second and best option is to do make quality posts on the forum as this is main point of this whole system by @theymos and this could be achieved with knowledge and healthy discussion.

But you have made very few posts in these days and out of them 2 are bounty related submission and all rest are reply to your this thread. But if you are dedicated to earn them and learn on forum give time and your focus on acquiring tips and knowledge from senior members.Merit will come afterwards automatically.

Hello buddy, welcome to the Bitcointalk forum. To earn merits you just have to be an active member and always try to write constructive topics. Do not just learn from other members, try to share something that you have, you can also ask a positive question in case you do not have something to share. You will earn merits if you do that, simple!

Honestly, you can read a lot of threads similar to this...
To earn merit is not our priority why we are here, it was just a reward for giving an informational and quality post but this is not the thing why the community grows. But I'm not stopping you you think that because that was your right and newbies are hungry for this in order to rank up.

I understand your situation but you should not have to think about it first, it is rather to improve your posting habit, and being active on the forum will help you for achieving your goal. It just needs time and most especially hard works.

Think how to make good post and how to contribute to the forum. If you make merit your priority you will loose focus
No focuse is being lost if you want to make or earn a Merit, to earn a merit will enable a user to go extra mile into research in order to ensure that what's he or she portray is at positive side of the community of bitcointalk which is know as a quality post, meaningful contributions attracts merit, and a reasonable topics created with a constructive terms also attracts Merit award, so it's base on personal creativity, and also about an ability to read meanings into what you think is commons and are not common.

You don't need to ask this in the first place and instead of asking about how to earn merits? I believe you should also explore the forum and besides, this has been asked multiple times and the answer is can be found in the forum as well. But I think this has become important to us now, maybe to rank up but the most important is we are learning here which we can share with others to those who have misunderstood crypto and those who think negatively.
Merits will come momentarily even without asking it.

Hi 11Revenger11, welcome to the bitcointalk.org family.
Already enough has been said on how to earn merits and rank high here. I will add my few cents here, never lose patience if you are not getting merits. Try to post quality contents and for that best is to read and analyze posts that are getting merits. This will definatly be a big help. Good luck

He may not know what a quality post is, maybe 5 lines or 2 lines posts. Alot of posters mistake the length of the posts they make to mean quality and i do not think that is it. Some write to fill the length required to meet up with campaign requirement and end up not writing much meaningful things. To earn merit will mean to write something you know makes sense and meaning to you.

The length of the post really means nothing.
It is similar to politicians, you can say a lot without saying anything smart and useful   Grin
When I give someone a merit, it’s always because that particular post helped me in some way, because I learned something, got new information etc.
New members, who do not have enough knowledge and experience, can always research a topic and share the information they find.

If the long post is not on point nor doesn't contributes on what is discuss on the thread then those long post is totally nonsense.

That's why its better to create a low length of post but on point and we can see the simplification of the answer given on the thread for sure its merit worthy. But its also good not to think about those since if we think about it more we will struggle since we will be force to spam for thinking that each of our post will get a merit to the users here.
