You need to maintain quality like quality comments, posts, topic, etc. If you maintain this you will get merit. And one more thing you need to research bitcointalk also. And make sure that don't copy anything and don't buy merit, rank id. Because If u do that u can not learn anything. This forum is an income source platform and learning platform.

In the end, You have to be honest.

You are right bro, maintaining of quality post and comments is one of the major concerns that gives merit, because I understand that know one gives merit because of familiarity in forum, merits is base on hardworking and research which attributes a quality post in general.

No mean to disrespect this post but then, the topic and yo some extent it's content makes it seem rather like the whole idea of the forum for newbies most especially is about getting merited!
A forum account user with this notion is likely to learn nothing in this forum. You've just got to respond to posts in the forum from the way you really feel about it, be original and creative and don't post just for the idea that you should or wants to be noticed. Just do your thing, expecting nothing and see how it goes.

Merit is a way to acknowledge  a post, merit is an evidence to show that a post is quality and the post can help the forum in order to upgrade,
Given out merit indicates that there is something meaningful and something reasonable in topic  that can expand or educate people.

Today's discussion is, how to get merit and what is merit? It is useful, again, what is the price?
I saw tons of discussion regards with merit and I think most of them are almost consisting of the same answers and nothing new so to keep out the redundancy of this topic you could have just browse it, take this thread as an example to learn what you have to need to know about merits.

It is not actually available to buy.
Merit is actually cannot be sold however, people are using another way like merit trading and I also find few topics about it here in the forum.

How can I send merit? <...>
Press the "+Merit" link besides the "quote" button on any post you wish to merit. That will take you to another screen that will state the number of sMerits you have, and prompt you to enter the number of sMerits you wish to send.

By the way, you've got 7 Merits, which means that you've also got 3 sMerits to sent (sendable merits). There's an additional half you've got but will not be able to see it nor send it yet, since only integer numbers are sendable.

For every 2 Merits you receive, you get 1 sMerit to send. Your Merit counter (7) will not decrease when you merit a post-> just your sMerit counter.

How can I send merit? Looks like I got 7, how do I send them, they seem to be quite valuable here? There are many informative answers to my questions and I want to send a few points. I can't find such information in the help section.

This second time you are asking for merit. First time was Attention for bounty work where you invisibly asked for it (Is there an argument in my words. What am I? I can't get a merit in exchange for these words?) . Now you ask for it again "If any of you like it, you can give me a merit." When will you stop ? Why do you create a topic, write something there and then disappear or visit forum only to post bounty reports?

Ahh yes, the good old "account with no merit giving out tips on how to earn merit in a thinly veiled attempt to gain merit" thread. Haven't had one of these in almost a week! Check back tomorrow for the brand new account giving out tips on how to make good posts with their very first post. Roll Eyes

Why threads like this always get a bunch of replies correcting the OP I'll never understand. Nothing you say here is going to make any difference to the OP, who is obviously only here to try to rank up and monetize their account. Just ignore them and move on.

You should add this on your op since this is also related on merit system. What i'm talking about is the abusing merit system and other issue that the abuser made. Let's not forget the main purpose of the merit system which is to reduce the spammers and shit posters to rank up just to join paid signature campaigns.

We could not get merit like doing something and then merit is the reward. It is obtain by doing things to which it could be a help to some users, the mods or the forum itself. Merits is freely awarded or given to good users behaving well in the forum.

As what others had told that there are many users here created threads on how to earn merits. The OP had tried though and there is nothing wrong about it.

Just try again to do a better one. We can't learn something if we do not try.

LOL, I am happy to read his posts. This were the posts I'd like to read sometimes to get out on boredom. The does not need correction too because we know that he himself will going to correct it. As long as he is learning here then for me that would be alright.

One should work out to achieve something. Getting merit could be possibly achieve if OP will try to work for it and hopefully he does.

Today's discussion is, how to get merit
You get merited by make good contribution to the forum, helping others and unleash scam activities.
what is merit? It is useful, again, what is the price?
Merit is a reward that your contribution was excellent and it very useful if you want to rank up. However, it priceless and shouldnt be bought.

Available according to your qualifications. For example, you have to make a nice, pleasant post on BitcoinTalk forum.
And many people will wear that post. If one of them likes it, he will give a merit. Merit is the reward of your work, like I did this post. If any of you like it, you can give me a merit. This is how merit is obtained.
Definitely.

As a matter of fact, this subject has been discussed so many times, i really don't see the point in the next thread talking about exactly the same subject, but that's just my personal opinion.

At very least, move this topic to the correct subforum...
You are right but looking that OP is not aware of that all this ans his first impression when he joined the forum was how to join bounty.

How to get merit

1: By creating an informative, constructive topic or comment.
2. To help people who needs help.
3. Bursting scam.
4. By translating very important topic for your local community.
5. By participating in an art contest.
6. By participating in a merit giveaway.

But first of all you need to read this thread TMAN'S guide to getting merit.

Sounds like begging for me, but I'm not pretty sure about it because there're so many parts I don't understand what you mean. Probably you use google translate and it destroyed the real meaning on your local language.

Everyone will be good and try to keep everyone good ...
That's what the merit system purpose to force people creating high quality post. A spammer will never get any merit if they still spam with low value post.

What can I say …

So far, 22.429 different accounts have awarded sMerits to 35.270 different receiving accounts. That introduces a certain degree of subjectivity to Merits, although only 2.705 accounts have had the occasion to express their merit awarding criteria more than 10 times.

There is a price related to Merit: personal time, and some effort and persistence. That price varies from one person to another, depending on their abilities, and is therefore not uniform forum wide.

Note: I figure you meant "read" and not "wear" in "many people will wear your post". Merit is not so scarce that it glorifies a post to the degree of it being worn on T-shirts and such …

Actually, this topic doesn't belong to anywhere.
OP, if you read about about form rules, ranks and positions, you should know that begging for merits is not allowed and you may get a negative trust mark on your profile. In addition, you missunderstood the meaning of "high quality post that deserve merits"; the post should be helpful and informative at first level, then evaluated by the spelling and presentation. No one will give you merit if you keep posting nonsense posts, just to receive merits. I advice you to focus on helping other members by sharing your knowledge and post some useful content, and stop thinking about merit because it will come once one of your posts deserves it.
