Well, investing 8k isn't that difficult. just split your investments in equal parts and buy NEO,ADA,ETH
Moreover I would try to trade with liquid coins and invest in some ICOs as well.

To be on the safer side I think the best option will be to spread your investment into 4-5 coins, bitcoin is still best option as currently available at cheap price other than bitcoin ETH, XMR, NEO and Waves are safe bets.

What about investing in a good ICO? I would advise you EON or Yumerium, I am a fan of game projects, and this is one of the leaders in this area.

Here is how I would recommend investing your money:

-40% Bitcoin -25% Monero -25% Ethereum -10% Spread on multiple other coins. You should do your own research, but here are some projects I find interesting and recommend looking into:

-Maidsafe -Counterparty -Factom -Golem -Digix -Auger -Aeon -Gridcoin -Siacoin -Ardor -Iconomi

Serious answer, based on reducing volatility via portfolio theory (adding negatively correlated assets):

35% BTC
25% XMR
20% ETH
10% DASH/LTC
10% REP

The first three since they have the best pedigree and prospects, the last two for diversification (REP, in particular, is negatively correlated with BTC and XMR, as is XRP, although I like that altcoin less).

BTC/XMR/ETH are your core holdings. The remaining 20% is for diversification and negative correlations. If you want to reduce volatility, add them. If you don't want to, and simply want to chase return, then stick with the big three.

Other highly-touted coins by insiders and investors: Decred and Golem.

First to invest for me is bitcoin and ethereum, this is a very valuable coin that you will get high and with $ 8000 is already a huge amount to invest so if I have this money I will invest in crypto. And do some research to spread your investment to different coins

My task as an investor is not to increase my capital and it is banal not to lose. If you want to invest a large amount, please understand the basic rules of investment do not invest all the capital in one Manet. diversify risks. suicide Rynok poiema what Manitou the future and for what is just hype and noise.

I will not talk much. I would invest 6k in bitcoin and ether and the remaining money would be divided into a couple of altcoins Nem, Eos, 0x, Bnb, Xrm.
This is good advice. Bitcoin and ether are now very much appreciated in the market and it seems to me that this will be a long time. Because I would do the same.

What do you think about Aenco?
Blockchain-Based Healthcare Financial Solutions Platform
Aenco is a "one-stop shop" platform with the objective to deliver cutting-edge institutional financing, prime brokerage, and smart capital solutions for the HealthTech industry, as well as a research and collaboration hub for healthcare companies and projects involved in the field of blockchain development.
ICO is starting soon.
I already took them for Bounty campaign.

Alternatively you can go full (%100) altcoins/shitcoins like this guy started doing in May/2017.

Aaaand, He actually turned his $10k into $1.000.000 in less than a year. We don't know if he cashed out though. Probably not. Even if he didn't, he probably have more than $200k. If you choose the right alts this is what happens.

If you are lucky maybe you also turn your $8k into $800k.

you can invest on different coins is best but don't invest on one coin because it is gives loss so you should first select three or five best coins and so invest on that coins.

From 8 thousand dollars you can collect a good portfolio. Definitely need to buy bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as altcoins such as Refereum, Apex, Red Pulse

for investing with that much capital you better find a good coin and potentially better investment in eos, ethereum and bitcoin, because I see the three coins have a very good development and the price can rise someday.

If I had $8k for a 2-yr investment period,
this is what I'd do.
(2) Medium Caps/$500 each -- thoroughly researched.
The gains just from one of these could be very
significant..  (Bibox Token & Matrix AI)
(2-3) Large Caps/$1k each
Neo, Eth, BNB, Dec or (Ada/Poly/ZRX/Kyber)

Bitcoin $4k/purchased on 2-4 separate days..
                    *Not my specialty*

8k ... I'd hope this would get to 18k-22k, in 2 years, with no changes

I would probably suggest for you to hold at least 60% in bitcoin and the rest would be the top 10 coins in the coinmarket today. To me, thats the safest decision because at least you dont have to do some thorough research on those coins worth less than a $1.
