As I noticed in some legit projects that i invested it is real easy to make an investments and I think usually participated those projects with a KYC. Those kinds of projects may have a high chance of getting a secure my investments to prevent from getting lose our investments when we choose a wrong projects.
It's not, a project that is having KYC procedure isn't a measure to determine which one is the real projects. They could misused your credentials for their own benefit like for criminal frauds and stuff, it's like doing 50:50 gamble when you invest on an ICO. So, good luck with that.

my advice, don't invest ico for the long term, because the price of the ico coin won't rise higher like bitcoin or etherum. to invest long term, ico is pretty good.
This is two contradicting views in one statement, you said that not to invest in ICO for the long term and yet you say to invest long term, which one is true. 
I really do not believe in ICO now and never invested anything in any of these projects for the past one year, initially i made some investments and made my profits and then there was a wave of new projects and majority were scams and hence i stopped investing or wasting my time reading those white papers. If there is a big project with well known team then i will invest, other than that i will not waste my time. yes, KYC can be very important. but, the most important thing about ICO investment is how you see the project can be useful for you. actually a lot of things need to be considered, but most of them have already been mentioned above. This is a good topic to discuss with especially to those individuals who were aiming to invest in a project. But, if I were to.invest then probably i will do more research for it has a huge risk especiallybin choosing a goos team to handle your money. But, if you do the right research about the ICO that you are investing for sure you will make a profit on it. It is just that you should do some research to gain information and to have satisfaction.

Easy enough, but nowadays ico usually requires each investor to take steps to avoid money laundering. indeed this is quite a good step. but it's actually not difficult to invest in ico

When it comes to investing no one likes to lose, so investing in the first ico you see is very easy but it is not recommended, that is when the real problem begins, there are thousands of coins and there are new coins appearing every day, there are so many that just trying to keep track of all the new projects is an almost impossible task and when you take into account the low success rate among icos you need to wonder if it is worth to read their websites, announcement threads and white papers when the chances of losing money are so high.

When I was new to cryptocurrency, I used to think that with time, ICO coins could increase in value which is supposed to be but it did not happen to most of my ICO coins in my wallet. What happened was the opposite, majority of those are already forgotten and gone to almost zero in value though there were very few that I profited good from but it doesn't guarantee that all the rest of ICO coins will have the same fate. 
Forget about social media promotions and engagement. If want to invest in an ICO/STO then you should prior the Team behind the project and read the Whitepaper carefully. Not just read but do the research on the project website and check the future plans.
Yes your are really right because many promotions in social medias are almost fakes or copy only. Like you said read and search the whitepaper is very important. But the one of the important is to always look the project everyday if this is updated or not , the more the project active the more the chance that this ico`s success in the future.
