It is necessary to do your research same way you do before you try to invest in an ICO before doing a bounty.
The bounty manager of a bounty also plays an important part if it will be a scam or not. Wink Wink

You will know if the ICO project is scam if the managers or the admins of that bounty project isn't active or replying to their participants. Also if they are not making any announcements and giving updates and as well going through their white paper.

First of all, you should always check the Team and see if they are real people. This for me is a big red flag if they are pretending to be people they aren't and also if they hide their identity for so called privacy reasons. I have been scammed int he past way too much not only in ICOS but by developers who never showed their face and got me to stupidly pay upfront for work they never did and they ran off with my funds. Therefore, you have to make sure there is a proper transparent team with a decent track record in order ti know it well..

You can check first time when you want joined and participated at bounty campaign project, look how similiar and popular of the ico project, have reached soft cap target or not before you are joining the bounty campaign project.

Most important to verify to know a project good or not, kindly do your part to find the person behind the project. A real members can be seen in any social media like youtube for most. What kind of video? Attending in a conference is one better proof of not scam. Take a look for that one

How do you know if it is a scam? Because I have encountered a bounty that let me finish all the translations first and didn't respond to me after I have passed it. I hope bounties will not be like this anymore because they demand and we did our part but they didn't do theirs. I hope you could answer my question.

For you to know an ICO project that has validity and utility you must carry out a due diligent search of the project by reading the whitepaper, you should also know the team executing the project and whether they capable of doing the work.

It is really difficult to know if the bounty is a scam before it finishes. Most of us will know about it right after the bounty campaign is over, after all of us spent and wasted our time to do their "so-called" bounty campaigns. Because I also experienced doing campaigns for scam bounties, so this time before I join the campaign, I do a research about the company and its products through their website, check their roadmaps and read their whitepaper. I also check in ICObench website if the ICO is listed there. I hope this helps you.

knowing a scam or not actually pretty easy to stay looking for news / information about the project from several sources / suppose after the bounty is working successful, but they have a reason not to pay the participants also include a scam

I think there is no way to find out that it is 100% accurate. There are always risks. What we can do is minimize that risk. I think you need to:
- Check the profile of the translator.
- Check the project information.
- Always make sure you can update the most important changes of the project and the campaign.
- Always ensure that the community and social channels of the project remain active.
- Finally, pray.

Check the profile of the campaign manager. For me this is the best thing to do.  An ICO could be identify if legit or scam thru the campaign manager. Understand and do your own research regarding background of the project.

Just be extra vigilant and do your own research on the project. Check for the timeliness, purpose, feasibility, rewards, how realistic is the road map, whitepaper and the team behind the  project. This could help you figure it out.

In your specific case, what you can do is put watermarks on the translations you give out as samples, also remember to send them in pdf so they can not be altered, that will protect you against future scammers, likewise, it is always advisable to investigate any bounty before joining.

In general we cannot find out at the beginning of the project a scam or not, we can see when the project is running or when it has finished.
But we can predict or see the scam potential of the project from several major project elements, namely team structure and advisors, whitepapers, websites and roadmap.

It can easily detect if the bounty is scam if the allocation is really a suspecious which can be deffer to the roadmap, and then provided with several admins on a telegram to be consider if this situation is provided with one admin then you will doubtedly a scam plus marketing strategy has very poor. Then, you prefer withdraw your participation immediately.

If you found the bounty here, and an user with low rank profile posted, there is a big chance that it could be an scam, or if you see a lot of spam on the telegram channel.

It is necessary to analyze to exclude the Scam bounty.. Evaluate the product, read the documents, the roadmap, the team, the amount allocated for the bounty.

If they didn't respond with your queries regarding your status on translation job then it's already a red flag. So many ICO projects are scam even though they are participating in some blockchain events doesn't guarantee the project will be successful or legit. If you didn't get paid for your work it's maybe because they are scammers or something went wrong.

Oh, how familiar that is. Alas, you are not alone and such situations are not uncommon. I think this is due to the large number of scammers who use cryptocurrencies for their dark deeds. Therefore, performing their bounty company can simply not see the promised payment or generosity. How to avoid not know how much because I hadn't chosen the ICO projects still on time is not necessary and comes across some strange project. So here is to only take the amount.
