Feels strange. Wrote this 2 years ago. Over $10 billion raised through token sales since then.
Times change quick. Plots remain the same.

I think you said this for scammers ICO and not the major altcoins we are seeing today that have give over 1000% returns to those who invest in those coin during ICO. Some coins we see there promote on this forum like strats, wave, lisk and Zcash has given the investors over a thousand percent return. Though op have a great point and he has make great statement  and exposed scamming activities on this forum.

Oh! That's pretty big paragraph there. So according to you this is blue print for an ICO and everybody reading here will make like 100,000 dollars a month. Wow is it really that easy as you are writing here. I mean no offence everything is just perfectly structured here but there is one important thing that everyone needs and that's "initial investment" which is huge and not everyone can afford it. That's why not everyone can really enjoy reading this post and make an successful ICO really. But this is really amazing that you have clubbed info so smoothly.

Interesting read, ICO scamming is a million dollar industry now. It is a phase that will pass soon enough like other scams, the community will cotton on and wise up. Personally, I never invest if I cannot verify the members of the projects team in real life. Even at that, it is still a gamble.
It's a good point too to know teams background, it can add trust on them that are investment will be on a right hands especially when they are approachable and determined. Having a trusted and responsible team support can make one's project successful.

Appreciate the kind words guys. Called the bullshit a year back. Now its no longer $100k, its millions.
Industry is changing and so are the challenges we'll face before we see Crypto going mainstream.

This was another sign there was a huge bubble. When I go 3 days without looking at coinmarketcap and there's a dozen new coins I don't recognize it's a sign that the market is frothy and people are throwing money at anything and hoping it sticks. This thread should be pinned indefinitely. Best explanation I've come across. There's a lot of naive people in the world who are trusting of what others say.. I've learned to take what they say with a grain of salt.

You look at china where they will clone anything and everything... they even clone PCGS coin holders along with the coins and try to pawn them on ebay... they'll surely scam you if they're willing to try to scam coin collectors out of thousands of dollars... they don't care about anything except money in their pocket.

Definitely agree with OP. I'm new to crypto world but from my whatever research I was able to do since couple of weeks, all I can say is that we have to do a lot research in not only the project but also the team behind it.

This is such an amazing post, I'm definitely linking back to it on my Steemit and YouTube channels Smiley Worth a solid laugh, but also a serious problem as a lot of newbie investors are dumping a lot of money into ICOs that ultimately fail. It's the internet dot-com bubble all over again, but this might be more short lived. It's fascinating seeing stuff like Eroscoin and similar, just absolute shitcoins. Sorry for renewing the topic, but it's funny how even months later this is still as relevant as ever before, with a couple coming out each week. It seems like some have fake exchanges too!

This is pretty sad so many people that try to do this and steal the bitcoin out of other users pockets. For their greed that leads them to scam others and they get away with it once they do it again and again and more and more. Little to no recourse for their actions so they habe no fear.

Hi there, indeed stumbled upon your thread although I actually know you from another.

I definitely feel for the thousands of people who continue to be duped by ICO - especially those who buy-in in good faith, absolutely thinking that they're doing something useful for a legitimate cause.

Of course, greed is the driving force behind many (who are perfectly aware of the scam) who as mentioned believe they can dump faster than the others. They regularly make profit from this slightly more sophisticated form of HYIP.

Would be very interested to read more on your investigative findings - and would love to be part of it once I get my head properly wrapped up around crypto. Am a former journalist myself more used to dirty work on the ground. Perhaps some day soon, there could be a 3rd party doing due diligence for all new ICOs and help potential investors gauge the soundness of their business plans.

Sent you a PM.
Would love to have some hands on what I am about to do.

I would like to see a little breakdown of the Opair ICO. this was an obvious scam but people still invested and let SebastianJu release funds from escrow.

Taking more requests for doing some research

>Opair
>What other coins can I add in the list ?

P.s - If you have incriminating evidence / stories I can write about please drop me a message.

I don't know of the ICO aspect but RhinoCoin was pretty f'n crazy.  You might want to look into it because I remember many days where it had a trading volume in the millions of dollars which at the time would have meant something like every coin in existence being traded in a 24 hr period or something ridiculous.  Of course it all happened on some chinese exchange I'd never heard of before.  I just remember seeing rhinocoin in the top 5 or 10 coins for trade volume every day on coinmarketcap and thinking really? a fucking rhinocoin?
