They might be legitimate, however the OP of that thread does not give a good impression at all imo. Problem is payment is so far in the future it's not worth the risk, at all.

You just need to sig-in in the site(address in my signature, or do a forum search) and click in "earn bitcoins", then follow the instructions, no need to put "I'm in" in any topic.

Maybe not really a lot of money, but it is a quick start

Also, some survey sites are actually not bad. I'd suggest http://www.surveylion.com/ who pay by check in north america and www.opinionoutpost.com who pay with paypal. It's a shame they don't use Bitcoin though.
