I think if this happen, there two thing that I can do. Better that we accept the fact that we are losing and best way to lessen our losses is to sell it now than to lose more. Most especially if it is giving us stress. But for me, I trust the system it is better to hodl it sell it in the right time. I think the reason why a token lost its value is because everyone is selling or panic selling. If it’s giving me stress I think I should be doing something else, I think it will help me not to get stress and by doing that I'm hodling the tokens I have, instead of selling the tokens in a low price.
Overcome losses when trading crypto is everyone's experience, for that I myself divide into 2, plus capital profit, every time I buy my coin to use profit from previous trading, if at the time the value of assets decreased I can buy again use my capital.
first of all it depend of what you are holding! i mean if shitcoin it and aswell masternode at the same time it could run to 1 sats easily if the team dropped a tone of free tokens but if the coin is strong and like in top 10 marketcap it doesnt worth to worry if the investor is long term hold for me so in long term the coin ll back to the real value and could go much ghiter! its very painful to see your funds go down lol but it ll bounce certainly at somepoint! i wish best for crypto and for all coins who work seriously anyway 
There is no way to avoid from losing money in crypto, but need to try choose more stable altcoins and never panic sell, when token price fall down in a short term.
