As I was reading news today on cointelegraph, what i read really shocked me. It was about a new trojan. The trojan can affect exchanges apps. The trojan get access to specifically google factor authenticator on devices and steal it. Use the link below for the full details

https://cointelegraph.com/news/threat-alert-new-trojans-targeting-major-crypto-exchanges-apps-discovered

I am new to cryptocurrencies  but I gained a lot from this news. We need to stay connected everyday to read news because cyber criminals are looking for ways to steal our coins.

A week ago, I read about the safest wallets, I found out that the safest are paper wallet and hardware wallet. The wallets are offline but to make a transaction, you have to connect it online. I later read of a malware that can steal cryptocurrencies  from trezor or ledger nano in just 15 seconds which are the best hardware wallets.

So, we need to know how to manage our wallets too and have a strong antivirus to protect us from hackers and also we need to know the latest threats from cyber criminals so that we can protect ourselves away from them.

There is no trojan virus for android nor android viruses so I think it safe to use mobile application in saving cryptocurrencies. Another, I am not sure if it is true but I have a friend who told me that he bought a flashdrive that does not stores movies, songs, pictures, ms office files but stores bitcoin. If it is true then it is a really good way of protecting your crypto and keeping it away from the internet.

There's a saying that  nothing on the Internet is safe, thus has been one of my philosophy and will always reminds myself to be more careful while surfing the Internet of a thing. So, saving anything online looks dangerous and shouldn't be use by cryptocurrency holders because of hacks. Personally, am not using a hardware wallet but have a cold storage for my stash and have been safe on the Internet. Don't click everything you sew as a link sent to you or come across.

A hardware wallet will be the best wallet you can use to store your coins in a safe place. You don't have to connect the hardware wallet if you don't want to send it to the exchanges, or you want to send it to other wallets. As long as you don't connect the hardware wallet to the internet, I think that will be fine, so you don't need to worry about the hackers. The other thing that you should pay attention to is always careful when you browse the internet because the malware, the trojan will be everywhere trying to steal your data.

Simple, buy a hardware wallet. Coldcard even allows you to create PSBT (Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions) to send transactions without connecting your Coldcard to the internet.
Buying a hardware wallet is really one of the secured option on how you will be able yo protect your bitcoin from those hackers that has a bad intention on you. The thing is even the ledger can be a hardware wallet too in which the ledger is the one where you will be able to put your private keys for your wallet and when someone access it with the correct private key but doesn't have the ledger then probably they will not be able to touch or have an complete access on the wallet.

When you take your hacking classes , sometimes they are gonna teach you how to get someone's personal data by just making them click a link or by letting them use your mobile or laptop to even log in .

There are specific softwares to use when you are really serious about this and sometimes you don't even have to do anything just let the software run on its own .

Therefore you need to examine the steps the hackers do and work accordingly ..

Just get a hacking workshop , you will learn more than enough from that and will  be able to save your money.

Use brave browser for browsing the internet, do not click or download suspicious link or material. Alway keep a backup of your wallet and always use cold storage for storing Bitcoin. Never disclose your Private key and never transact on a mobile device. Follow all these rules and you will be safe.

About Google authenticator, please wait for an official announcement from Google. I doubt it is possible.

Simply don't just click any suspicious link in the internet, hardware wallets are secured, just have it and don't let anyone have physical access to it. Paper wallets are safe to online hackers, and not even to your indoor or neighbors.
I always avoid clicking a suspicious link because we don't know if this link contains a virus or it can have accessed our computer. I still don't have experience with the paper wallet but it seems it is also a secured wallet for our cryptocurrencies. Just stay away on unknown links, websites or apps that you see on the internet and kindly use a trusted wallet like ledger nano s. There have been many cases of hacking today that's why we need to be more careful securing our cryptocurrency and wallet.

I will not suggest to use paper wallet due to various reason.

If your goal is to store a very large amount of cryptocurrency and don't want to touch it whatever happens plus become an anonymous owner, a paper wallet is still a good option. It's probably 'safer', and by that I mean you can hide the fact that you own cryptocurrency as long as you can save the backup in a secure place.

Obviously it comes with a lack of flexibility and somewhat out of date tech, but that doesn't matter if you're holding for years and don't brag around that you have 1 BTC.

To be honest, hackers are more advanced than us. On the other hand, hackers can't get control of your device without your help. For example, during install a new apps it will ask for permission, did you ever noticed what permissions have been giving? Most of virus enter on our device via software and suspicious links (especially from porno sites). So we should prevent such as attack in order to protect our cryptocurrency.

I will not suggest to use paper wallet due to various reason. Only use hardware wallet to keep your cryptocurrency safe. But of course you have to prevent virus as well they could get control of your clipboard. No system are safe, always double check your addresses during sent fund. Don't store your fund on exchange for long time to avoid attack.

Hacking softwares are getting advanced as these hackers are always in the pursuit of more sophisticated tools. Of course they are after for the money so they need to find ways on how to acquire it easily. So it is always better to use hardware wallet rather than smartphone apps when it comes to storing your crypto portfolio.

Smartphone apps are the most vulnerable, when it comes to security.
I have an Android device and I don't use cryptocurrency related apps(wallets, trading platforms, etc.) and I never will.Just use a PC with a good anti-virus +really strong passwords and you will be fine.
I never browse websites that have suspicious domain names(ending with weird domain extensions).
You should consider doing this as well.
Remember that,if a hacker targets you and wants to hack you,he will do it,in one way or another.
In most cases hackers don't care about you. They care about the big targets- crypto trading platforms, online wallet services, etc.

Online wallets are most vulnerable for this kind of attacks.

So if you are a newbie, much better to go to hardware wallets, it quite cheap instead of using web wallets that one day you could be the next victim if you are not careful. As other have said, don't click any links, you're opening the door for them to exploit you. And once you get phished, you can potentially loss your coins so we need to be careful.

The malware I said above can be due to outdated antivirus, we need to update the antivirus to its latest version. Hardware wallets are very safe, ~

anti viruses are good but they won't always protect you against everything. you still have to be careful yourself, don't download any random things you don't trust, don't visit shady links,... and obviously you must use cold storage. hardware wallets are good but that is not the only option. for "storage" you can always use a paper wallet that costs practically nothing.

And don't forget you also need to keep your computer and cellphone clean so that they become the latest version.

What do you mean keeping your phone or computer clean?
The only way to make your mobile updated is to download the latest version of your OS which will available when your phone notifies you.
I assume you mean updating the anti virus regularly.

Your wallet will be safer without having too many unnecessary downloads of applications on your computer or phone. If you're a fan of downloading something, do it on the other device not with the device where your crypto was stored and transacted.

You try as long as you don't click on suspicious links on the internet that are tempting, keep your hardware wallet secure, have it and don't let others have physical access to it. Set up two-factor authentication
I will explain in more detail below, but authentication is two important factors for you. 2FA Authentication requires users to have two things to log into your e-mail account: something you know (password) and something you have (your cellphone).
It's almost impossible for other people to log in to your email account if two-factor authentication is enabled. And don't forget you also need to keep your computer and cellphone clean so that they become the latest version.

You can't protect Bitcoin in general but you can protect your coins. First, don't keep all coins you have in just one wallet and avoid online wallets. They are at least safe and max vulnerable to threats and hackers.
Also, definetely use hardware wallets, they are the best.
Avoid sharin your personal and wallets data with anyone and keep your details on a safe place.
Keep the hygene of your computer and mobile so new updazed version of antivirus and avoid clicking on suspicious attachments, links etc.

One of the most secured coins today is the cryptocurrency or the bitcoins because it is encrypted all the time every transaction we made are converted into different letters and numbers with different cases, so all of the transactions are secured. The only person who can decipher that is the other party only. That's why many people would like to use the cryptocurrency because it is secured, and also it has the fastest transaction. One thing that the hackers can be targeted is your device because most of the time when we are browsing the internet we can get a lot of virus, malware, trojan, and works can copy our files too and send into the hacker sometimes the mistake we are doing is opening links, surf into a unsecured websites, and also opening some emails that is not secured, or it has a portal that the hackers can connect into our device and now getting our information like names, pin codes, and all of the data have. Always make sure you must secure your device first.

You are very right. The malware I said above can be due to outdated antivirus, we need to update the antivirus to its latest version. Hardware wallets are very safe, I consider Ledger nano the best because it is not expensive as trezor. Hot wallet can be gone for if the cryptocurrencies  to save are less than $500. But if you have more than that to save, hardware wallets are far less prone to attack and are the best.
