I think that for ever to quit gambling you need to find yourself a hobby that will deliver as much adrenaline as you can get from gambling. Extreme sports are great fit.

Decide and take some action if you are really dedicated on quitting gambling, if you are just going to ask some advice but you're not going to apply it, then it is all useless. Quitting gambling might be a tough task to do but we have to, the consequences that we are going to face if we are going to continue is much worst.

You could also ask for help to your friends, they might gives you a little help or to your family.

Asking help from someone else might not do. We must stop this bad habit starting from ourselves. If we can stop it right from ourselves then we will be able to get out of it much quicker than we expected. Sometimes it might not be as instant as we think but it is for the best so it is better to do it and start from ourselves

On the contrary it is better to ask someone who is knowledgeable about the case on how to improve one's control on gambling.  Often times the case of being addicted cannot be solved alone.  The person needs to undergo rehabilitation and withdrawal syndrome.  And once the person is in that stage he needs to be taken care and guided by a person who is qualified to that job.   Though I agree that this should begin in one's self.

How does one Put down Gambling for good?
To quit, do not start)). But in fact, just come with a small amount of money, lost and no longer feel sorry. You can just come see how others lose, also the incentive to unlearn. Well other ways more cardinal and knim will not resort.

How do you quit something id you dont join it? I understand the concept behind it but I think you could have put that in a better manner. There are other ways to make money other than gambling. If one is not desperate to make money in short time then they wont join some scam HYIP MLM and to some extent gambling sites. However there are people who do play for fun. If one can balance fun and gambling then I think they can play but in the long term it is mostly harmful.

You really have to break the belief that you can recover all the funds that you've lost to date. Many gamblers continue playing because of the sunken cost fallacy, they keep taking the same steps thinking that is possible to recover all their losses with a short string of victories. It doesn't work like that though, so write off all your losses and concentrate on building something new.
if you want to quit, you may have the difficult times because we love gambling so much so if we quit to that one we will need some space and time in order for us to move on, just wait for the time , step by step forget it , in that way you will feel contended on what you get before, but think of it first before quitting.
yes then you should do it step by step , you can not do it all at once.

think about how earn money from gambling are not good at all, even for some people think that it was dirty money (by the way i am not one of them who call it that way) just leave it for better reason like to make your life completely normal as when you have a gambling habit it wreck your good life.

I am one of them, for me the money from the gamble is dirty money, based on my religion gambling is forbidden.
So if you want to try to stop gambling, remember the laws that exist in your religion. But if you still do not care about it, then gambling should not be a problem for you.
let alone the religion rules be your personal issue , don't bring it on here please. for some people gambling not just about be a good guy or bad one. there is a professional gambler who make it as a long term career and he did it smoothly by the way .

why it could happened?they really know what they are doing, how to having control etc but not with people that mostly become greedy and hard to quit from it.

I know there will be people who do not like it if we bring the religion law here, but here we are talking about how to quit gambling for good, so if we want to quit gambling, then we can think about the religious gambling law because it could work.

For me, I think there is nothing wrong with religion because it guided everyone for good. I don't see any religion that guide any individual to do bad for others or do bad acts. With that in mind, if religion can help a gambling addict addict to finally get out of the addiction, well and good.

To quit, do not start)). But in fact, just come with a small amount of money, lost and no longer feel sorry. You can just come see how others lose, also the incentive to unlearn. Well other ways more cardinal and knim will not resort.

Let's say that we're already there, we started and there's no easy way to quit by saying simply "do not start". Don't let the destiny will hit you to be at the same lose as others. You can quit a little by little and it's like you will gamble only for sometime. If your lucky to quit instantly much better but if not just gamble 1-3 times a week for better result.
Minimize playing as much as possible, like what said above, simply telling yo stop will not work. Our system might finds a way to play with it. Managing the play time and minimazing spendings alloted in gambling can be a way too to quit gambling little by little.
There is always something that can be done that would support you in the quitting like support groups. It surrounds you with people that wants to get away with what you want to get away too. It's possible that in some support groups, there is a bad influence that would try to get you back but you should get away from those temptations.

Do something that will let you forget to gamble. You can do shopping, exercising or just simply chill out with friends. Be social active. Focus on what makes you feel happy and relax. You may go on a vacation break. Lastly, spend more time with your family.
you should spend more time with your family and friends so they can guard and guide you not to play again, quitting is the hardest part of this activity
especially those who already attached and engaged to much, that's why physical and emotional attentions is really needed.

if we need to build new habit then it difficult because we need to fight with our emotion and feeling. i think if this is what we face, then i think we need other people to help us so we can try with hard. i am sure that we have strong will to quit from gambling and with help from other people, then in the end we can quit with easy.

How does one Put down Gambling for good?
Actually, this is just an establishment! If you have a strong stand then you will never go back into gambling. Conversely, if you reveal only with words, but not accompanied by a strong stand, then you will be tempted back into gambling

Finding another business can be one of your means to stop gambling, it will start off a little bit hard but once you get used you will be able to leave the gambling ..
Quitting gambling is not an easy task at all once you have got addicted to it. But on the other hand if you find some other task or job that earns you equal profits in an easy way as is the case with gambling. In my opinion, different people have different nature therefore there are many alive who still don’t find it difficult to gamble or not to gamble based upon their choice.

To forget about gambling forever you need to find yourself a very interesting hobby that will bring the same pleasure and can even better than gambling.

It will really hard to forget gambling for the rest of our lives in just a short period of time after we are hooked and get addicted into it. It is is just not that easy - there should be a slow process like instead of gambling in the whole day and most late night, you better gamble in just couple of hours in the morning already and then get a lesser time the next day until you finally comfortable of not playing or gambling in any given day.
It is a fact that giving up on gambling is not an easy task at all. Once you get addicted to it, then there are a little chances to get rid of it. you have told quite an effective method to quit gambling and that is just to reduce the total daily in a day that you have set up for gambling .if you gamble for 5 hours or so then it must be reduced to half of it. In short quitting this thing is nothing more than a slow and gradual process.

I think of a person who is addicted to gambling keeps chasing losses and tries to make them up then its impossible for them to make any money let alone try to make some profit. However there are players who will withdraw after a win and not gamble all their money at once. Those who follow strict rules in the gambling schedule will nevertheless curb their losses to a minimum amount.
If there's a lot's of players doing that, withdrawn their winning quickly I think that's profitable for once. But if making it for so long time, it may cause a lot of money to lose for that's why more gamblers really wasted their money and losses many times. Following rules in gambling schedules is not an assurance of curbing their losses into minimum amount, because most of the time a person who is an addict of playing gambling will not follow rules and worst is having decisions for quitting can be so hard for them.

That's just the good side, of course there are times where we can win and we can withdraw our profit but would that ensure that we will never gonna lose again? of course there is a chance that we lose that amount again because when we win we always want for more and we will still gamble aiming for more. Maybe we will only understand when time comes that we cannot manage our loses anymore, it's hard to aim money so I advise to just gamble for fun.
