Gambling problem comes, when we start to play not for fun but to earn. When we lose, we are looking for help - example - this thread. Worse is, that whenever we win a problem is getting bigger.
The only way is to stop playing and focus all your attention on other things. For example, sports, reading books, engaging in charity or voluntary work.
It is not easy, but if you feel that you already lost control, stop playing is the only way!

yeah, and gambling addiction starts from that point when you first won something big enough to make you come back to bet again and again to try and win that much again. or even is some cases you lose and then keep comming back in order to try and win your losses back.

I think i would recommend to find some games such as team sports that would disyract you from gambling and wasting your money, also you can seek professional help from doctors or something like that, though those are just my suggestions

I think if you get addicted to gambling is your own fault. I think you have to control yourself and have to spend not all.
You have to set limits and you know how much you can spend. You just have to really look for distractions.

Difficult to say gambling is very addicting because of the main reason.
You can win money and if people can win money they get blind for the money.

yes if you ever get a pretty big money on gambling was really hard to get away, because you will always want to repeat.
If you are thinking of leaving gambling and its addiction, think hard and you will find a reason why you are even thinking so ? Found  reason ? Now just consolidate on it and do not gamble.
As simple as that it can be, if you have determination and some will power to control ourselves.

for me the best way to stay away from gambling was running out of funds to gamble with. when you hit rock bottom, there is nowhere else left to go lower so you automatically will stop.

human's greed has no bottom. lose all your money? here, let me lend u some. see the problem? ppl won't simply stop easily, specially at high stage.

that is addiction, they can't escape gambling easily...and some of our pals are pushing us to gamble more...we can't resist it anymore, specially that part of gambling addiction is almost at its peak,..  Smiley only time and trouble could tell when it will stop.. so better control our selves while we can still..  Smiley

I think your friends should be more supportive and respectful of your decision to quit gambling. If your pals are pushing you to gamble more, maybe you should distance yourself from them for a while, so there isn't peer pressure.

It's a little hard specially if your friends are supportive not of your quitting but of your gambling specially if you are in debt..in that case, only distance could solve it..

I've blew a wage pack of 600GBP on a slot machine in a pub chasing my losses it's not good.

Even now I have 3 other tabs open with 3 different casino's playing slots... why cos I have money, I cant sleep (due to medication) and I'm on my own.

I find I do not gamble when I am with someone (relationship OR out with friends) - I'd gotten to the stage of having over 10 online casino accounts before xmas - I've now dropped that down to 3 (whom do the Irish Lottery / NY lottery & Canadian Lottery - as not all sites do all of them - crafty) - I've now set limits as well of 50GBP a month on each & on one of the sites a Block comes into effect if I win over £200 I have to withdraw....

Unfortunately BTC casino's do not have this feature.

BUT there is one way you can prevent online gaming.

* Get a list of all your sites and add them to a site blocker & get a friend / family member to set a password.
* If your worried about using a card on gaming sites - put it in writing to your bank that you have a gambling problem and would like gaming sites being prevented usage of your card --- Yes they can do this, as they have lists of Gaming sites - if they allow a transaction through, you can take them to court Wink

Your doing right talking about it. BUT you need to talk to the professionals about it as well.

DO NOT set yourself any financial goals - as you will just drop back into gambling to try and achieve them,

It is best to look for distractions. If you do have a family go to their nice things and spend their money.
Spending your families money is not a good idea but looking for some distractions is a good idea to stop gambling.

Or you can go out with your friends.

Find a hobby that you might otherwise like, or go gaming that could namely also. There are plenty of options.

You need to focus yourself on something else.
You need to know when you stop because otherwise it will go wrong.
Delete your gambling account on gambling websites.
I don't think there is a option to delete your gambling account on gambling websites once you create them.

keeping on reducing this bankroll will result in complete stay away from gambling.
It can also be like people end up depositing more than the amount lost in that slow go,just to recover.

You need to know when you stop because otherwise it will go wrong.
and when is that ? how would you define a stop ?

You simply distraction. You have to set yourself limits. Think carefully before you do anything.
You should not go silly to spend money. You must have a limit.

Yes, setting up daily/monthly limits for gambling spending would safe guard from unexpected losses and keeping on reducing this bankroll will result in complete stay away from gambling.

I'm pretty sure most people who gamble aren't addicts and even addicts aren't that crazy, only a few people get to that really super addicted point where they could even sell their house to gamble but those are special cases and if someone is willing to sell his house to gamble then he is an idiot, not just an addict.
i remember reading some stories about super heavy gambling addicts back in the 80's when las Vegas was crazy about casinos, some of those super addicts would sell their house going all-in to a single spin/roll and if they didn't win they would shot themselves in the head with a revolver. That's what a I call having a problem lol.
