That is perfectly normal Makitaki, as our network difficulty is very high (and keeps trending upwards).

Note that by taking a long time to stake, the only minor loss that you have is that you're not compounding % on that stake reward yet. Also, remember that there's a portion of the PoS process that bears to a bit of randomness, so you might anyhow get lucky and stake it early, or get unlucky and stake it late.

myagui, but what about my 1344 block? It has reached 21 days, it's not staking and its days to stake indicator is also constantly increasing. Is it normal that now I have to wait about 30 days (or more?) to stake a 1000-1500 block?

has buy support completely gone for Hyperstake or are people dumping every single coin they stake. ???From 7 to 8k down to 800 is just ridiculous

@ Makitaki,

The estimated staking date is largely off until those coins are mature. As soon as that 4K block reaches 8.88 days of age, you'll see that the estimated time to stake will instantly drop off to a much more reasonable value.

@ Presstab,

Not so much of a bug report, but a minor nuisance: In the send tab, should the "return change" and "custom change address" be mutually exclusive? Right now I can select both options at the same time, but I have no clue as to what that would produce.

Happy Staking!

I'm averaging about 10 days with largish blocks.

I'm also new to HYP, so please guys could you answer some questions? I have the latest wallet, if it matters, but my block of 1344 reached 21 days and still can't stake. Is it normal? But the main problem is my 4000 blocks. Look at the pic: 32 days to stake a 4000 block?! And this number grows almost every day: first it was 20-25, then 28, then 30, now 32... Is it really normal? I've never expericenced such difficult staking with my CAP or HBN. If a 32 days gap is true, then I will never see those promised 750%. Sad Biomech, how do you manage to average about 10 days? What block size do you have?

What exactly is "Max Gen" are you referring to the max of 1k per block that is staking per every 30 days? or is it something else entirely?

the max block subsidy. 1000 coins per block max. It's not 30 days, though, that's the last date that a block will gain more maturity. it's eligible to stake at 8.8 days. Not sure what the general average is a this time, but I'm averaging about 10 days with largish blocks.

At some point, most staking blocks should hit at or near max subsidy. Things will get interesing then Cheesy

   Whats largish?  3K 4K 10K?

I don't have as many coins, my last block was 4.2K and took almost (not sure) 16 days.  and was at max payout (1000) for 2 days before staking.
I've got several blocks staking or close to staking now, so maybe I just had bad luck on the last one.   Time will tell.

damn I missed that deal!! I'll be looking closer now. lots of ppl are selling.. Oh well, there loss our gain!!

TBH it looks like HYP is still going down. When max gen kicks in December 6th ( Assuming this is correct) prices should either spike up briefly and stabilize. Right now I need some BTC to buy some HYP though Tongue

I sort of cringe a bit when I hear "when inflation control kicks in" or phrases like that (nothing personal against you mtwelve, everyone has been saying it). Ask yourself, have you been sizing your outputs/blocks differently than you would if there was no 1,000 HYP max stake reward?  If the answer is yes, then this is proof that inflation control has already kicked in.

Now the question of "max gen" kicking in.  Well this is a bit misleading as well, because there is a large chance that we don't see every single stake in one day hit the limit.  I think it was biomech that pointed this out, that it is much more likely that we get close to the max coin supply expansion per day, but that it will vary from day to day near that range.

What exactly is "Max Gen" are you referring to the max of 1k per block that is staking per every 30 days? or is it something else entirely?

See http://hyperstake.wikia.com/wiki/Max_generation with presstab's thoughts:
Quote
The max generation by definition is when each stake will be 1,000 HYP, thus hitting the ceiling each time. Right now we are about halfway to max generation. I don't think we will hit max generation for a long time, because people will always be trying to size their blocks small enough to get rewards that are less than 1,000. I think what really is going to happen is that there will be a fight to stay under max generation, this will mean smaller blocks, and smaller blocks will mean higher difficulty.

not sure if there is time left, but i would have the suggestion to add to the splitting. making it possible to specify how far the splitting can go back, meaning 24 hours or so to pickup the change of previous splits to make sure all of the blocks stay at the specified amount. so as an example, if I wanted all my blocks to stay at 3k each, and  have in the last 24 hours, have some smaller blocks from either previous splits (change) or from possible deposits etc that are smaller than 3k.

Not sure whats involved in making this happen, but this would be awesome.. Smiley

Also was able to get the stake split threshold to write to wallet.dat and load on startup. So your settings will be remembered  Cheesy

I had to restart my comp and therefore my wallet.  This erased the settings for "setstakesplitthreshold" resulting in a block split I didn't want to happen.

Yes right now your preference is not stored to the wallet.dat. I will be adding this soon. If you restart your wallet, it will go back to default of 1,000 unless you set it again. I should have this ready for the next wallet version.

as a temp stop-gap, could that be set in the conf?

Nope, it doesn't have a startup switch, only rpc command, so for now it requires manual labor  Cry

Figures, that would be too easy, right?

Hello ppl , I'm new to hyp , need some help . How do I stop the split . How do I set the limit I want? Thanks in advance . Cheers

You must have the latest release 1.0.7.2

Go to  Debug>Console and type Help>enter and a list of commands will be given and you will see "setstakesplitthreashold"

Put the minimum stake size you want after splitting after the command.  For example if you want your block size to be 1800 or more after splitting use:
setstakesplitthreashold 1800

Also check out this faq on the subject http://hyperstake.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#What_is_setstakesplitthreshold_and_how_to_use_it.3F

If you have any errors or bugs to report in the wallet, now is the time to report them before the next release!
