The price. We need to know it.  Cool

I have been told a review unit around late July will be supplied to me.
I guess there was not any units shipped to you?

Great answer, was honestly just wondering the rationale.

Fair enough .

Sometimes the net is hard to answer questions well.

 I appreciate the reply back.

Yeah or to add, great little device to run at the office since power draw is so low, good solo lotto ticket

yeah  if some want to run a radio in the office and are allowed some may want to run this device instead.

At the lower watt setting  of 30gh and 12 watts  no boss will notice or care. only 9 kwatts a month

Even the high watt settings of 78 gh and 33 watts so what. only 24 kwatts a month

Now put in an  full sized avalon 4.1 at 900gh and 480 watts even though it is quiet the boss may not like you using 360 kwatts a month

What exactly is the point of buying this?  The power is so low, it's pointless.

your understanding of hobby mining is lacking.

Does not matter anyway since I am getting no info from the builder and he is about 10 days past promised sample date.

I don't want to be insulting when I say you don't understand hobby mining just truthful as I see it.

A longer explanation would be this.
This item would cost under 3 dollars a month to run.
It would be quiet.
It would not be hot.
You can point it at  a solo pool like ck's and have a chance at winning an entire block at a very low cost in power.
It is not about turning a profit it is about a hobby item.

If you are in college it would run for free in a dorm.  May never hit a block but cost to run it would be zero.

Some would say power theft but I would say no just a different form of entertainment at a one unit level I would not feel guilty saying do it in your dorm.

Last time I spoke with Xiangfu he told me he was building them slowly. But I guess they are using it.

Matches what he told me.  They had 1 batch unit   and were testing it.  next would be a 50-100 piece run and they would send me a test unit.

I should have been contacted late July. Nothing yet.

Doesn't sound like they are in any rush to actually sell anything, does it?

yeah no reply at all to my emails.

I think most chinese asic builder are simply following my advice from last summer which was if you build and mine: then limit growth of the network .  Don't sell much gear.

So there were two parts to impersonating Phillip here:

1) Choose an Id that LOOKS very similar as in philipRna1957, rather than the version with "m".

2) Select an Avatar that is text "Legendary", rather than an actual picture.

Just trying to understand what happened here.........

yes and they hope for a tired person sending off coin without really looking.

best way to protect one against this is look at profiles.  mine goes back to 2012 and I have 10,000 plus posts.

my other copycat did philLipma1957

first copycat

phillipma1957 ------------------- used 2 ll's

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/phillipma1957-443374

second copy cat

philiprna1957 ------------------ used rna

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/philiprna1957-538286

both used Legendary in the signature boxes  so could be same person.
