Keep 10k in BTC and spend 5k BTC on building a few scrypt miners and mine what coins you think have a future.

I would not invest 15k in BTC in Alt currency while trying to get a higher return of BTC. If you want to play the Alt market I would advise only investing 1k in a heavily self research endeavor.

The best option is build some miners.

People tend to believe that Alt coins are here to replace BTC when in actuality they are here to accumulate BTC via Alt coins.

My apartment is too small to accommodate miners, when i am richer then i plan to move to a big house for my mining dreams. For now i need to multiple my holdings with altcoin investments

I wonder if there are really people like him, who want to put that kind of money with not really an idea (see thread) and not really small money (this is not an early adopter with 500btc and want to spend 25btc speculative) in altcoins.

I mean, people just post the name of the coin they have. Yeah, buy Hotcoin or eToken, because I was lucky to mine a significant share at the beginning.

To the question: The best choice would be Qubitcoin (Q2B). This coin will 10fold in one week and 100fold in two weeks. It has a new algorithm!! Don't miss the train!!!!

Karma could make you 30% tonight.  It offers little downside risk at this moment.  I've been steadily making 15-30% plays on it all week.

The problem with DOGE (which also happens to be one of its pluses), is the sheer amount of daily trade volume it has.  That means, to even see a double in price back to its former high of around 300 satoshis, it's going to take millions and millions of dollars in constant daily trade growth and knocking down ridiculously big sell walls. It was MUCH easier for doge to sky to that 300 barrier back in its early stages when it had a far smaller market cap.    You may see a nice 30-40 percent gain in a month or so, but I wouldn't bet on anything higher than that.

If you're looking for the greatest profit potential, you're going to have to look at the smaller, cheaper coins with smaller market caps.  I'm having trouble determining which of these new coins to invest in myself...but if you're smart you'll look for one that brings something new to the table.

Although VERT was simply a copy of a jane scrypt coin and certainly not the first or last, it played that angle and advertised better than any other n-algo coin...and thus the price exploided.  It had a gimmick.

Most alts are simply just copy pasta with a nicely designed logo.

doge = popular
prt = upcoming new wallet
vert= power to the people(small miners)

or ethereum

I would go with PRT or VERT, both have potential and are under valuated

I wrote an article on this very topic about a week ago. I do not recommend any particular currency, just some criteria and things to look for when choosing a cryptocurrency to invest in.

Let me know what you think.

15 grand?

Put a whack into bitcoin when it bottoms.
Litecoin and Peercoin are good longterm.
I agee with buying Doge. It's cheap and popular. It could go places and if not; no real loss.

Take a few thou and try the pumpanddumpers. Timing is everything. VERRY high risk for anyone out of the loop. Be prepared to write this money off.

I have no credibility here whatsoever but I am in a similiar scenario.

Doge is a good potential to invest before Sochi and block halving. I also would consider Reddcoin. Despite its poor launch it has great innovative devs behind. Good luck and do your research before you invest into any alt. Wink

MtGox fiasco once again causing the price of BTC to be driven down. I bet it will continue to fall all weekend until Monday when Gox either folds or fixes the problems. Mtgox collapsing again could possibly cause lots of negative PR for BTC and force down the FIAT exchange cost for 1 BTC. I was seeing some graphs in another thread which showed a similar event where BTC in the past crashed after Gox was hacked. If it crashes the same % as it did in the past due to that mtgox news the following days could be = to about 1BTC = 100-280USD

MTgox is really a shit company. We need to stop using them all together. There are plenty of other exchanges. I've been trying to verify my account for the past 4 months. I have .58 bitcoins in there. Fuck that shit company.

Honestly the only thought that comes to my mnd for a auctal investing would be Doge.

-Only community with a lot of people outside of the "cyrptocurrency gang". Diversity. Over 56,437 members on their subreddit in what? 2 months? Amaze.
-Block having coming up ASAP. Time to invest in now. Can only go up.
-Just had a crash along with bitcoin. Went from $ 0.0017 to $ 0.0010 and its back on the raise again at $ 0.0012 i can see it going up to .18 within the next two weeks.
Winter olympics. Doge has amazing publicty all over the place. Show me another alt coin here that has the same type of publicty as doge.

doge.

to the moon.

all these shitcoins are going to die. They bring nothing to the table and the only people who care about them is "us". And we just try to pump and dump them. No actual value.

Mooncoin
Fedoracoin
Hotcoin
SCC
Also, every coin based on quark.
You can also hire a developer to make coins with premine for you. Once the coin shows up on an exchange and there is a decent amount of bid orders, sell your premine.

I don't have an investment tip because no one knows what will happen. But these are the 3 reasons I support Quark.

Not gonna happen OP, all coins are gonna head down soon.

Really? Why? Do you have some advanced knowledge of something that's going to happen in the next while?

Only speculating but we are seeing a downtrend similar to june last year after the big rise in april 2013, could be looking at $550 btc or lower beginning early march with all alts crashing as well.

This trend did the same in October of 2012 after a big rise in August

only speculating though
