it truly is It occurs to me that the 5 post rule pretty much ensures posts which contribute nothing, such as this one.
and this one I think 4 hours is reasonable and 5 posts is not too bad. It's only bad when you really want to get something done NOW! Also making random replies is not really my style, but here I am.
not my style either but here i am as well I wish they would reduce this from 5 to 2 or 3 or something. Most people write anything just to get to 5 posts.

No, we don't. Most people get automatically upgraded within 10 minutes of reaching 5 posts and 4 hours logged in. We can manually approve you at any time, though.

Good news, I was wondering the same thing. I have my posts, and have my 4 hours but am not yet un-newbied.

I'm not sure I understand how things work either since it appears I've lost time logged in since I was last here. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong.
