There is very long time, just buy btc and leave it for 3-4 years after.
Why he dont doing some trading, since nowdays price some coins are going too good. it could got some profit in short-term, isn't

The Best and safest way is jut go and buy BTC and forget it come after 3 or 4 years and see your funds grown to ?xxxx times. If you want to invest in altcoin then their is no coin which is worth in long on.

If I have that amount of money, I will franchise one of the most popular fast food chain here in my country. And if there is still some remaining $ I'll put it no doubt with bitcoin. In a less 10 years you can just double that amount easily or even triple it that fast. But if you want to focus with crypto's go for ETH and BTC.

If you will live here in our country that amount could priced as 24M and you are millionaire here.  You could buy a lot of assets and could live a good life compared to us.  I guess, you could try other things than investing the whole 500k to bitcoin.  If you will buy bitcoin in that amount there is no guarantee that you actually earn a profit.  We do not know and I believe that price of bitcoin will continue to goes up but what if it goes down.  Try to put not all your eggs into one basket.

because simply put, you have no idea what you are doing. and when you ask random people you get random answers as you have gotten so far. and everyone tries to push their altcoins they are bagholding on you so that maybe the price goes a little higher so they can get rid of them and don't lose much.

try doing some research and stop being lazy, that would pay off a lot more. i promise you.

In my own opinion, I refer you to bitcoin alone, the money you have now is not just a joke figure right? So bitcoin has a bright future because people are continue supporting it, unlike to some other coins that dumps, but take note the risks, better invest to bitcoin and it you gonna gain the good amount of profit after few months. Bitcoin is best for investment these days. Even Gold is not as much profitable as bitcoin is now a days.

It all depends on what it is you want to make money off of, how active you want to be with your investment, and what kinds of risks you're willing to take to get various types of returns. I also don't know why you're asking a public board for investment advice but whatever, I'll try to contribute.

Active investments:
Bitcoin trading - Trading Bitcoin back and forth on exchanges to make a profit off of whatever movements occur. Decent amount of risk with low returns short-term but good long-term trends.
Altcoin trading - Trading various altcoins back on forth on exchanges to make a profit (in Bitcoin). Medium risk with high reward, great short-term trends but very timing dependent, might get left holding a bag on a worthless token.
Starting a business - Starting your own business. Medium risk high reward, assuming that your business takes off.

Passive investments:
Loaning - Loaning Bitcoin to other people. High risk low reward, lots of defaults and will likely not be paid back. Skip, in my opinion.
Investment in a gambling site - Investing Bitcoin into gambling websites for a return. Low risk (most of the time) low reward, better for large investments.

I'm not telling you how to use your money, I'm giving you potential ideas and personal perceptions. This is anecdotal and in no way guaranteed to see happen.

You could invest parts in Bitcoin and well known altcoins like prposter already suggested and for example Litecoin, Steem and MaidSafeCoin and hold them on longterm. When you conpare the prices of those coins from today with the last years, you see contuus signifikant raisings.)And you can put other parts into crowd projects like ICO. There are for example very promising projects with new technologies or services, like mobile healthcare or worldwide solarparks, that pay dividends or new cloud services that are paid by cryptocurrencies like GOLEM "supercomputer".
Those projects are innovative and enable great opportunities.

First thing, you need to decide about your investment term. Are you going to stay invested for a long term or short term profit you are looking for. If you want long term profit, then start buying bitcoin, ETH, Zcash, Monero and Dash. These coins can give you a very high return in long term.

Secondly, start learning trading. This one method will give you unlimited profits during your free times. If you don't know how to trade, go to youtube and you will find a lot of training videos there. Start with little investment to learn. Once you are confident about this method, start with big investment to gain more.

400,000$ in Bitcoin. Invest slowly over the next year so you can gain the advantage of the sizeable swings we see over the months.

50,000$ in ETH and 50,000$ in LTC.

If you really want to play a few flyers on ICOs, take it out of the ETH and LTC investments, maybe 10,000$ to be spread over some of the (actually) useful ICOs. The coins that offer an advantage beyond Bitcoin.

Do your research and invest in most promising tech, you can find all the tokens/coins listed on coinmarketcap. diversified investment is the best way to go and never go all in, keep some % dollars in reserves, in case something goes wrong/you need some money urgently.

Use LocalBitcoins. They are the safest exchange to buy Bitcoins.

They keep Bitcoin safe in cold storage. Whenever there is an issue, their manual escrow system is great at making sure everything is fair.

After that you can make a mining farm, if you can manage a source of low cost electricity.

Don't invest all of those fiat in one crypto try to diversify your investment in different ratios. Hold bitcoin in larger proportion and eth, ltc, xmr, etc in respective order. Holding some fiat like 20% of your total asset in fiat could be helpful to buy back cheap bitcoin/altcoin during huge price correction.

That's a huge sum, just invest into bitcoin today. Regularly you can get a profit through just the simple form of trading. It will clearly generate a profit regularly and when calculated all of the sudden what you got as profit than leaving the capital will grow much higher.

Are you serious asking this kind of questions on forum? 500,000$ is lots of money, i would buy a few smaller apartments and rent them for the rest of my life.

Well, If I were you I'll invest 50% of that money in to bitcoins (which is $250,000)

And 25% in bitcoin mining and the last 25% invest it in Ethereum mining (i.e. $250,000)

I would not invest in bitcoin now. I would divide this sum into parts and invest in alternative coins. You can buy information about signals on the exchange and invest in coins, which will soon become more expensive several times.
