is it good for a contractor to be awarded a contact  and be  payed  with Bitcoin .I was awarded a contact and to be payed with Bitcoin  I don't have any idea about it i  need a help from these foroom please?

You could easily ask your employer to be paid on Bitcoin, but for some businesses and countries, this might not be a thing so I don't think they going to pay you Bitcoin just because you want to be paid on Bitcoin.

I don't think it's a good idea for you to take Bitcoin as a payment, fiat money would work well for sure, Bitcoin would be a big hassle at this point unless you're going to invest everything on your payroll.

You can have better answers from your locals. Ask this question in your local board will help you to get better answers. Your locals will understand local conditions and how to buy, sell, spend your bitcoins than foreigners.

Finally got my boss to pay me in Bitcoin . This member is from Nigeria too so go asking him.

The question is how do you know the contractor awarded you with Bitcoin? did they prove it with the address?. If yes (and you never create a wallet or account exchange yet) you must ask for that private key and move it ASAP, or the best way is, don't accept it, just ask for fiat, or you must immediately learn quickly how to create a wallet bitcoin to send it to your own wallet.

this is a bit confusing for me because you don't know much about Bitcoin, but your partner sent in what you don't understand, which I think it's very risky to be scammed.

looks like he did it on purpose.

In the employment contract agreement it is stated where you will be paid using fiat which is transferred to your bank account or with Bitcoin. Companies cannot make decisions without the consent of both parties, especially regarding payments.
It should be underlined, not all employees who get contracts at the company where you work understand how to exchange Bitcoin into fiat. It's very complicated to explain to those of you who don't understand about bitcoin, starting from wallets, private keys, registering on exchanges and transferring to bank accounts after bitcoin becomes fiat. Try to go to your boss then convey your complaints to him.

If paying employees with Bitcoins is a condition of the company, you must have a Bitcoin Wallet to receive your salary.

Bitcoin is a digital currency that anyone can freely use and make instant payments to anyone without any banking hassles. In this case one person has a bitcoin wallet and if there are bitcoins then sends bitcoins to another person through his bitcoin wallet.  And because Bitcoin is a valuable and potential currency, many people prefer this Bitcoin. and there are many cases where various companies and various online service providers accept payments in Bitcoin. It is a simple payment method.  If you want to accept payment in bitcoins then you need to have a bitcoin wallet and your customer will send you bitcoins through that wallet. But whether or not you personally accept payment in Bitcoin is entirely up to you.  And on your country restrictions.  If you can easily convert Bitcoin to your country's fiat then you can accept payments in Bitcoin without any problem.

You should write your comment outside the quote tag for it to show up properly not in-between the quoted text.

Be careful when accepting cryptocurrencies for your work since I've seen a lot of scams related to it.

Most of the time, it ends-up in an unknown exchange/wallet which will ask you some deposits before you can withdraw the funds,
But after a deposit, it wont even release the coins.
So, where did they sent your payment?

What kind of help:
  • Information about Bitcoin?
  • How to convert your coins to fiat?
  • How to withdraw your Bitcoins from a wallet or exchange?

Please be specific.

Bitcoin is a good idea if only you have knowledge about it, so learning the basics is really important for a beginner like you. The first thing that you need to know, of course, is how to receive and keep it. So, you need a wallet to do that. It can be an online wallet or a hardware wallet (physical) like Ledger. Once you make the wallet, always remember to keep your private key (it's important to access your wallet) and not to share it with other people. When you have a wallet, there will be an address (a (public key) included that you can share with your payer so they can send the bitcoin to your address. When you receive it, you can see the amount in your wallet, and you can check the transaction through the blockchain explorer by inputting your bitcoin address. After you own the BTC, you might want to change it into fiat money. You can do this by selling it on the exchange. Most people will do the trading on centralised exchanges. Try to find information on the best centralised exchanges for your country (since sometimes you can't access big exchanges like Binance without a VPN in some countries). If you are interested in learning more about bitcoin, I suggest you start by reading the threads in this forum and getting used to reading the news from trustworthy sources like Cointelegraph, CoinDesk, and many others.

I think before anything else, try to confirm if the job offer is authentic first. Is it remote or on-site/F2F?

Job scams are also rampant these days - some would ask you to pay a fee first, request your personal documents and ghost you or the most common, they will redirect you to a shady exchange which they secretly own and type-in some numbers in your account as a form of payment.

Ask your employer how the whole process would go and do a background search on them.

Just ask the contractor to pay you in cash if that's what you like to get paid and if it's written on your contract on how much you should receive then they should honor your contract and what was signed on the deal.

But if it's in the contract and the payment will be in bitcoin, you still worry not because it's still money that you can easily convert into your local cash, you just need to find local markets where you can convert that.

Did you ask them if there's another method you will get paid?. If they only want to oay Bitcoin then you should make a research about it and also create a wallet for you to receive Bitcoin. You only need to give the wallet address. Anyway, I am a little bit confused if it's you who will get paid or someone and wanted to get paid in Bitcoin. If you make it clear then I might be able to help you with that matter. Can you explain to us what things you don't like so that we can find a solution?.

You should count yourself lucky to find such a customer that wants to pay in Bitcoin. It's a rare opportunity if you knew more about bitcoin, if you are scared you can immediately convert the funds to your local currency and purchase all the materials required to carry out the task. But if the money is your salary and the company provides working materials for you then you need to get a hardware wallet to store the funds; this depends on the number of zeros or figures is your salary.

If it is not an international job where you are working remotely the contractors can easily pay you through your bank account. Discuss this with them if you are not open to receiving payment in bitcoin.

If you are open to the idea of receiving the payment in bitcoin or the company is strict with their payment policy and you want to retain the job: brush up your knowledge about Bitcoin. You are already on one of the most helpful forums to learn about bitcoin, you can explore ways to receive payment and convert to fiat immediately, or opening a cold storage wallet and storing your bitcoins.

I'm not really sure of what you're scared of, but if you are scared that the price of Bitcoin might drop and you'll lose some of your money then you can sell the coin as soon as you receive it.

Or perhaps you could ask person that's about award you the contract to convert the Bitcoin into your prefer choice, because before a contract is signed both parties involved must first come to an agreement and now you're complaining about receiving your payment in Bitcoin, which means you didn't actually with the other party's term. Or perhaps I'm just missing everything up.

Paying you in bitcoin is never a terrible idea, but do you know how it works? You can be paid in bitcoin, but you must understand how it works. I notice you're still a novice with little knowledge about bitcoin.
But allow me to offer you a brief guide that I have. Downloading a wallet and creating an account with a secure private key are the only requirements. Some wallets will ask you for seed phrases, which you must keep private. Think of them as the key to your wallet; keep them to yourself.

Additionally, you should be aware that if bitcoin is not accepted where you live, I cannot recommend using it as a form of payment since you may encounter difficulties when trying to use the funds because there will be no means for you to convert them to your local currency.

Paying with Bitcoin isn't a bad idea, how do you understand Bitcoin, do you have a little knowledge about Bitcoin?
Creating a wallet isn't the problem, but you need to know more about it don't just move base on what u head.
You need to know how Bitcoin works, although bitcoin is the best-known cryptocurrency platform around the world, but there are some things about it you still may not know to avoid being scam.

If you want to get payed in bitcoin, you just need to download a wallet and create a receiving address

I suggest that you download electrum and just follow ghe instructions (basically note down the seed in a paper).

Then your customer will transfer btc to your electrum wallet. You can then sell those btc in any exchange to convert to fiat

You don't have an idea about what aspect specifically? If you're talking about the legal side of things, you're far better off asking a lawyer/accountant — also taking note that laws differ from country to country and sometimes state to state.

You live in Nigeria, and got paid for your work in Bitcoin, why should we tell you if it's good for you or not?
What don't you understand specifically?
The only thing I see is that you are opening threads all over the forum that aren't really specific.
And yes, we still remember your blocked account.

It all depends on the country that you reside. There is nothing harm in getting paid in Bitcoin. The problem you might face is to convert it to your local currency depending on the law in your country.

Since you would be receiving funds in Bitcoin. You would need a Bitcoin wallet to receive, store & send it . I would ask you to check both Mycelium wallet & Electrum wallet. Both can be downloaded on either a mobile device or a computer. After you have downloaded any one out of those two you need to setup a back up.

Backup would give you seed phrases, which are nothing but keys to access your wallet incase you lose your mobile or your computer gets corrupted. Keep them safe and never disclose them to anyone. After that all you need to do is either check on Google or YouTube for tutorials on how to use any of the mentioned wallets.
