If you plan to do long term investment, I suggest to hold multiple coin in a multi wallet. Havind different kind of coin will let you not miss any sudden pump in price and also reduce the sudden loss from you money. Coins such as BCH, BTC, LTC, DASH, ETH and ERC20 token can be now hold in a multi wallet, just be sure that the wallet is an open source. Most available multiwallet coin is closed source which means you may not be aware of potential vulnerabilities on your fund. There is this new kind of wallet named as HODLER wallet, you might wanna consider it woth your investment since it supports different kind of coin.
There are many altcoins in the market that should be in your portfolio. I think you must buy TRON and Dogecoin also, you may buy Litecoin also because this coin is also in a downtrend and in the next move, you must see 3000% of the increase.
At the present time, in order to be able to choose a long term investment in a coin, I think you should have specific and accurate investment plans in ripple, eos or ethereum, they are coin many experts say they will develop strongly in the future.

You can buy some Ethereum, Neo, Cedex, Docademic, Sun Money Token, Vet for long term investment. All of these coins will be very much appreciated after a few years. Don't worry about their current low prices 
good coin for the future, with prices currently down, it should be the right time to invest.I added several other good tokens, like BAX and BOB, because these two concepts of coins are very solid and have the potential to develop better
I've been watching Ethereum for the past few days and looking back for the lastest news that i've got there's rumours that CBOE will add them on futures. SO price could pump big like bitcoin did last Dec 2017.
Gonna watch out for that, it will easily give us a 100% increase as the price is very cheap right now. If based on the ATH, it was over $1,000 and although price will pump, it would still be hard to achieve another ATH, I don't know with others but that is my opinion.

For the long term, I always recommend you reliable alts, any of the coins that are in the top 10 is a good option, the personal preference for me, is the giant bitcoin, but I also have investments in ETH and ripple, of course, you always have this option to invest in a good ICO, right now I'm in the One social network ico and I've gone quite well.
I recommend to study better coinmarketcap.com . You shouldn't make a choice so quickly.

I know Bitcoin in 2017. I play too in ICO and lose my money because the ICO is scam. I suggest to you if you want to invest your money with a long term investment you can do a little research in 100 altcoin on marketcap.
Yes indeed dude, ICO becoming scam only if they run away the fund of their investors in the project. Or if you really don't want to invest in the ico better for you to invest or buy Ethereum this is sure ball your gonna gain on this alts mate. Because there's a rumors that by next year 2019 it will become x5 its price value, so better try it then hold in a long term.
