investing can be do at any time in this industry but it will be good if you only invest in the top coins, you don't need to be confused to make investment choices because you only need to check coins with a great reputation in the market, so you will get the right investment and will be profitable in the future

Litecoin seems to be a good choice
It is good for both short-term trading as it likely has the highest level of volatility among major cryptocurrencies and long-term holding as it has shown consistent gains during the last 3-4 months. Well, all major altcoins have shown consistent gains recently (along with Bitcoin and partially being fueled by Bitcoin's spectacular growth) but let's not forget that Litecoin halving is just around the corner, so we should expect at least some hype before the halving followed by the supply squeeze soon thereafter and culminating with a refreshing change in price (not that Litecoin's price has been stale but you get the point)
There are actually many coins out there to buy and make some good profit if you know how to select the right one at a good pricing. We have some good one that have established strong foundation in cryptocurrencies market and if you invest on them you may not get big returns but it is a bit stable and you are sure of making profits in future and those types of coins are: bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, zcash, litecoin, ethereum, ripple, tron e. t. c. But we have many coins like : xem, binancecoin, graftcoin, wave that are going to do very well in future because of the technology behind them and you will do yourself good by buying them now with the aim of holding them for long.

You have to be specific about what you are looking for, that means if you are looking for long term or short term investment, if you are looking for short term investment i would highly suggest not considering any altcoins and just go and invest with bitcoin, but if you are looking for long terms than in my opinion i think you should consider Ethereum, i t might no be doing good right now but soon and with the upcoming futures it will surely grow and get back to the place that it once was, and also binance seems like a growing coin so you might also consider it. 
I suggest to choose a coin with a large circulating value and also choose a coin which you can be used if the price falls for example a utility token which their coin have a purpose no matter its price. For now I suggest to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin or Ripple but it's up really to you what coins you're interested just know the advantages and disadvantages and the type of investment you're going to do about it.
Don't just believe on us, just get some idea to us and do your own research.
doing my own research is better, but I suggest choosing the right coin as you say that is having a large circulation, so I suggest that the coin not get caught in losses and lose profit. strong self-analysis is the best at this time. for those of you who are beginners I would recommend buying altcoins such as ethereum, litecoin or neo. some of these coins have the potential to grow tall and make you safe, than you have to invest in coins that don't have certainty in the public. Recently discover the BTC2 which was also recently listed on coinmarketcap. Its price was less than 10 cents when it was listed no its 50cents. This is a BTC fork but its features are sort of a privacy coin. The best feature I can say is that, if you have some of it, you can stake it on their webwallet to grow your money without doing anything but storing.

I believe Ethereum and Monero are capeable of reaching new all-time highs. I wouldn't advice to buy low cap alts unless you want to take big risk.

First, move this thread to altcoin section.You will confuse if you only see the price movement. Before you intend to invest you have to try to make an analysis again the coin. See a several factoe which can make the price will increase in the future and also see the new update of the coin because it will give you profit if you choose this coin. Most investors will see the latest update or the closest agenda of the coin. If you done this way I'm sure you will noy confuse to choose the altcoin that you need to gain money.
Go with ETH,DASH and LTC if you want you could also try other top listed crypto's.
This would probably be my suggestion as well, but honestly there's no telling--nobody here has a crystal ball and can tell you which coin is going to make you a quick profit, or any profit at all. And OP, there are a million threads like this, asking what to buy. Everyone is going to advise you to buy the coin that they're holding, and you can't really trust that kind of biased advice. A lot of altcoins are down right now, so stick with the big-name ones that are trading at a *relatively* low price. I've been buying NEO and PIVX, but I'm not suggesting you do the same--and PIVX isn't really one of the big players like ETH, LTC, and those kinds of coins.
If you can't decide, you can always stick with bitcoin.

That is a tough question.
You are basically just want to follow other recommendations without realizing that even how good those coins are, it still depends on your own hands how will you execute your strategy to make profits. Not because others here suggested their recommended coins, it does mean that you will have the same good result.
If I say "bitcoin", what will you do? hodl for long? day trades? buy every dip? shorting?
If I say "etherium" what will you do?
Once you put money on crypto, it will not stop there and just wait for profits. Investments is always accompanied by a good approach in order to make it successful in the long run. That will be your assignment.
Check on cmc, not only coins that are on the top list but coins that has active community because you will hear from them while they are sending chat what they feel about their holding of that coin. Supply too , I consider plus the future plan of the coin.

If you want a safe altcoins can choose at the top 30 coins at the coinmarketcap mate. Just check the volume market and how traders are active to trade the coins. Observe the actual movement of the price while on trade. But as much as possible buy Ethereum, Ada, xbx and Nem.

You may see the all the top cryptos fall down from the past 24 hours but this is not the same level we gonna see in the coming days. We will be able to find the growth for sure.

BNB , why?
It's entirely unpredictable, yet has steady development. Its cost was duplicated by x3 in mid 2019, amid the high market. It might keep on going up or return, however unpredictability is high and Binance is additionally propelling a decentralized trade, Binance DEX which should further expand the utility of BNB and increasing its price.
I guess this is a good coin to trade, but I would be warry about the dump since its been going up for some time now. It is hard to be caught up in a pump, so I guess OP must take a deeper look about BNB before he invest in.

Mostly those at top 20 have been pumped hard, then dump, I believe there is also potential project at the lower bracket of coinmarketcap. The thing to consider when looking at this bracket is that, make sure they have active and competent developer and good marketing scheme. This way investor will have a better chance of having a maximum profit gain.

Since you are newbie in crypto world you need first understand the difference between shitcoin and top altcoin becuase a lot of shitcoin are in the market I suggest pick an altcoin with a good reputation or trusted by over a year like ethereum, ripple, eos and bnb this altcoin have a high potential to bring you a good profit in the future.

Just go with the famous one's or those who are in the top list since you are still confused and couldn't choose,It is better to stay to those who have already been trusted and would survive the market ,
I wouldn't suggest going to some small cap or low volume alts .
Go with ETH,DASH and LTC if you want you could also try other top listed crypto's.
You can always trust top altcoins when holding for long term speicialy top coins whos been there for more than 3 years like ETH and LTC.You can surely gain profit from this coins specialy for long term investments.As long as you dont invest on trash coins/shitcoins youre safe from losses
