I've also received an email from website similar looking to myetherwallet, they were asking for my private key. These are phishing attempts to hack your wallets. Be safe guys.
You will keeping on receiving such kind of spam emails in the future as well. Do not even think of replying that email no matter how convincing and threatening that email is as this is a technique used by the hackers in order to gain access over your private key. If you somehow replied to that email, then you will never be able to see any of your crypto coin back in your account. So think well and stay safe.

It is a scam, an act of phishing attempt trying to steal your private key or an attempt to install malware. Never click on random links or any in your email. I have signed up for many airdrops, some only ask for public Eth address and some ask for an email also along with your public key. Well if the airdrop is a scam they usually sell your email address to bad guys out there or use it to trick people. Well, there is also fake MEW app on google play store and today MEW tweeted and requested google play to take down the app as MEW don't have any android app. So as you can see hacker usually try to find many ways to scam people. I encountered one time I received an email of airdrop that needs to put my private key to get my airdrop. So I ignored it and put in trash.
Just remember don't give your private key to other people, airdrop no need private key, only provide public address, I never trust it and immediately put in trash , for security I never click any link from email

I never trust ANY mails from ANY projects, because of guys who want to fraud you every now and then. I hate ICOs which send a contract address through mail, I always recheck any significant information at official sources. The main rule is never click on links which lead to wallets. In 99% they are phishing attempts.

No one would give their private keys unless they are too eager to earn that they don't even think about the effects and other consequences that they'll get. Clicking on a phishing email is just like that, those Hackers/scammers will find any other ways to stole your coins.

It’s obviously scammers and hackers are really trying to move to the Crypto community. Any phishing link is not expected to be clicked on by any one managing his or her wallet himself. Someone would just wake up overnight and observe all funds in a wallet have gone to land of no return. Let’s just be very careful and mind the kind of link we click on. Thanks

It just like I received etherdelta warning in my email that someone login my etherdelta account, I smell scam in this email, etherdelta is not requiring email when you open your myetherwallet account. Scammer knows our email by joining shitty airdrop so be careful what you join in airdrop guys.
Very often I receive such letters. Even on those electronic addresses that did not shine for crypto currency. We just spam.
We all know this fact that the market is full of scammers and that we need to be very much careful regarding such kind of emails as most of them are scam and will ask for our credentials like that of private key or anything like that.

There is no such need of opening that email or replying that you can get in trouble by doing so and that you need to be very much careful regarding all this.
exactly i think it was a phishing attempt i always have those kinds of emails laying around in my junk files never had the courage to touch them, at the end , you have to be very careful around crypto because sadly you can do the perfect crime and get away with it

I already had trouble with some phishing sites. They are all parasites in this world. So we better be careful and guard our hard earned tokens. So better double check before clicking anything

I nearly felt victim of such a trick embarked upon by scammers while checking my mails I saw a link from MEW asking me to claim  some of my tokens fortunately I have read lately from this forum of phishing sites used by scammers to hack into people's account I promptly deleted the link to avoid touching stories.

It is worth to be careful in matters of network and monetary security. As practice shows a lot of people whose goal is to become rich due to theft. For this reason, carefully study those projects in which you register or where to enter your data this applies to the KYC.

I received an email from MyEtherWallet to claim some tokens of an airdrop I joined. Hovering my mouse over the link,  I discovered it's a link to another cgi scripted site.

Interestingly you don't create MEW wallets using email addresses.

Guys be careful and be vigilant.
Thank you for posting this one on this sections it will really help those who will read this post of yours, it is a scam actually and I think it is a great way to make others, not only others but also me to be fully informed in these kinds of things.
