I have 2 motorbikes at home, but what I always use is only 1 motorbike, and 1 motorbike is rarely used, and indeed the motorbike is also old, and if it is sold it won't be too expensive, and I decided to sell the motorbike, because in my opinion the price of the motorbike will definitely fall over time,
(affected by inflation). and the money from the sale of the motorbike I will use to buy bitcoin. because in my opinion the price of bitcoin in the future will definitely rise. and also currently the market is bear, so this is a good opportunity to buy bitcoins. and I want to ask everyone, the decision I made, namely selling the motorbike and the money to buy bitcoin, is it wrong or not?

I'm ready to be corrected because I have no experience in bitcoin and crypto.
If you do not have sufficient experience in investing and trading bitcoins and cryptocurrencies, then your decision to sell your motorcycle will undoubtedly be a wrong decision because the field of cryptocurrencies needs experience in trading and experience in determining the right time to buy and sell through charting, technical analysis and risk management techniques. I advise you to invest in what You can lose more money than you need because there is a possibility that you will lose it because the crypto market is currently volatile and there are no indications that it will recover soon, so do not sell your motorbike, property, cars, house, etc. to buy cryptocurrencies. This field is full of risks, you need to educate yourself and increase your experience, and trade with small amounts at the beginning until you learn.

if your motorbikes also have no function in your life, you don't use them, it doesn't matter if you sell them. You also make it an asset that you own.
when you buy Bitcoin, then it also becomes your asset. motorbikes asset values will probably continue to fall. but the value of Bitcoin assets, we will not know the end. because it also depends on your ability to how strong you hold your Bitcoin in the current bear market conditions. there is no guarantee that you will be profitable in the future with Bitcoin. all that determines is yourself.

but your decision, to sell motorbikes and buy Bitcoin, I think it's the right choice. but it all depends on the end of the investment you make.

This time is not really the best time someone can sell it property because of investing with Bitcoin, because right now Bitcoin have not being doing good for the investment, but it's nice a idea for someone to sell it motorcycle to by Bitcoin, but it's okay to do so when you that the motorcycle is not something you know that is giving you or contributing for your daily income, so therefore that daily income is something you will consider first not to sell your motorcycle because is not increasing.
Bitcoin is not doing good at this time and it doesn't refer that it will not shine in future. We know what is Bitcoin actually is and we have to wait by investing on it. It's really tough to get profit within short possible of time. Selling property and investment on Bitcoin is okay, I think. It's time to buy as price is not so high and I hope price will start to rise again.

Bitcoin price falling doesn't mean bitcoin is underperforming, price drop is part of the market, this is normal, and we can't expect bitcoin to just rise without falling. Many long-term investors who expect a bear market will buy cheap bitcoin and wait for the market to recover to sell for a profit. I am puzzled as to why he would suggest that OP should not invest at this time, when this is the best time to buy bitcoins. I don't know if bitcoin will recover soon, but I'm pretty sure bitcoin will recover in the future.
Of course, Bitcoin is a trusted coin. And here everyone buys bitcoins at low prices and waits to sell them at high prices. I am a bitcoin lover myself. But many people are afraid to invest in Bitcoin now because of the situation we have seen in Bitcoin over the last year. At the time I believed that Bitcoin might be fixed this year (2023) but no hope yet. Does that mean Bitcoin will drop below 10k again?
And if not, how long will it take for bitcoin to be fixed?

This bear market is good for those who want to buy bitcoins at cheap. This is indeed a best time to buy bitcoin and accumulate it for the next bull season.
Other people who sold bitcoin at high prices, they are also very interest in this bear season as they can buy back bitcoin again and make themselves ready for the bull market in one or two years' time.

Also, all the old investors know about the different cycles of the market, and they know it is normal to have a bear season. Only the new investors or new retailers are afraid of this market.

When you already know that the price of motorbikes is getting cheaper and lower and you decide to sell it to take Bitcoin is the right choice. anyway, you still have 1 vehicle that can be used. All you need to do is prepare a secure wallet for the long term. I did it 3 years ago and it proved relevant to the point where the profits were in sight, in fact I was able to buy 2x what I was selling.

It will be easier to sell one of the two bikes and keep one, I don't advise selling the two if you don't have a means of transportation, unless you have other good options, a better life is a wealthy life.
I suggest you re-read what he wrote, he has 2 motorbikes, and he wants to sell a motorbike that he does not use in order to invest in bitcoins. For me, I would fully support him, and if he is able to hold on to bitcoin until the next bull season comes, then he can buy back some of those bike and not just one.

I know that motorbikes and cars value depreciate as time goes by but we have a reason of buying them in the first place, I have a car and I won't dare sell for Bitcoin because I got the car to transport my kids down to school every morning and also for other reasons, it's been very helpful so far.

The choice is yours.

No one is offering advice on the sale of assets that are being used for investment purposes, what we are talking about here is the sale of assets that are unused for investment.

Why the OP kept 2 motorcycles at all? Where they completely different (like one is a sport bike, and the other is enduro)? Or they were two of same class? If they were same, then it is reasonable to sell one. If they have different use case, they I would kept both. For me looks like a strange trade for the sake of investment. Why not sell then everything, but keep 1 fork, 1 spoon, 1 knife, 1 set of clothes, everything in 1.

P.S. What about the gear? Do you have two sets of gear also? Consider selling one.

I don't think you make a bad decision because based on your story, there's no point to keep your motorbike since it's rarely used, you need to pay the tax, maintenance, fuel etc without any benefit. As long as you're don't really that money and you can willing to lost all of your money invested in Bitcoin, go for it. Don't really think Bitcoin price will increase for 10-20x in the future, it's possible but you need to have a lot patience to wait.

of course I will be ready to wait for time even if it takes years, until I get a profit from my investment, and of course I am ready to take any risks, because of course in investing there are always risks, profits and losses.
because even in real life, the name of a business is always a risk.

Well, if you are ready for all that, then I think you don't need to wait anymore but sell the bike immediately before it depreciates further, and the current bitcoin price is also very suitable to buy and hold. I don't know if you've heard of the recent demise of centralized exchanges, but my advice is: don't store bitcoins on exchanges, buy yourself a cold wallet or use a non-custodial wallet to hold bitcoins, don't use exchanges and custodial wallets.

From your title, I assumed you’re in the automobile business and accept bitcoin as payment. Reading the whole story now I realize that you’re selling a personal property to buy bitcoins. As in the OP, the bike is losing value everyday and is a liability. On the other hand the bitcoins you purchased are a long term asset. So I don’t think you are wrong. Now if you could tell us how you purchase the bitcoins, p2p or CEXs and what wallet you’re using for storage.

From the title of your post, I assumed you've sold the motorbike to obtain Bitcoin but in the content you are seeking for advice as to whether you are about to take a right decision. In your next post please do well to make your title compatible with the content. So in my opinion, I think you're about to make a wrong decision.
Firstly, you said that you have no experience in Bitcoin and crypto and you decided to sell your motorbike to invest in Bitcoin. That's a blind decision.
secondly, you should not invest in what you have no experience about it. It's obvious you don't even know or ready for the challenges associated with Bitcoin investment. I would advise you to seek for more knowledge on how Bitcoin works before you take such action of selling your property for investment. Don't be in haste to invest because you hear people talking about it. You are not late to invest at any time. Take your time to learn something and have experience on whatever you choose to invest in, not only Bitcoin but everything that worth investing worth to be studied.

I really liked what you said. Bitcoin is an excellent investment for those who have learned about it and are willing to take the risk, but it will also be terrifying for those who know nothing about it and invest only according to someone's narrative. No matter how good bitcoin is, if we buy blindly and are not ready for its volatility, we will soon lose money because of it. Bitcoin investment is never late, bitcoin exists, and investment opportunities are always there, and as long as we have sufficient knowledge, bitcoin investment can be done anytime. Don't be afraid to miss the opportunity but rush to invest, it will backfire.

yes, i agree with you, i am selling my bike because i see a good opportunity for now because now the market is bear, so i don't want to miss this good opportunity to buy bitcoin, and the reason i join the forum is because i want to learn about bitcoin so that my knowledge of investing in bitcoin is good. that's why I made this topic, so that I can get insight from all of you friends who are here.

Bear season is the right season to invest in bitcoin because the current bitcoin price is very cheap. If you think now is not the right time to invest, when is the right time? Do you want to buy bitcoins for $69k, or do you want to buy bitcoins for $16k? It's hard to understand what you are advising OP, I am also a bitcoin investor, I want bitcoin to drop even more, and I wish had a lot of money to buy bitcoin from now on because once this opportunity is gone, I will no longer have the opportunity to buy bitcoins at cheap prices.

To me, I think your decisions are extremely very right.
Motorcycle is a liability, especially owning two and none possibly generates any income for you but you rather spend on petrol, engine oil, maintenance and the rest.
If I was to be in your shoes, I would have sold the motorcycle long ago to buy the same said Bitcoin. I'm assuring you that this is one of the nice decisions you've taken this year and you shouldn't feel any bad or regrets about it even if people might get to criticize you but I will also advice that you take your time to invest in learning more about Bitcoin before jumping into it and also remember that Bitcoin is very volatile and risky but profitable.

@OP you will probably see your investment grow over time, so it is better than keeping unused items whose value continues to decrease. But here with zero bitcoin experience you will be another concern if you don't first learn the security aspects of the asset, especially in the long term.

All decisions have a risk.

I don't really understand the price of motorbikes and if you don't use it anymore then I agree with your decision to sell it. If you believe that bitcoin will increase drastically in the future then why not as long as that money is not used for urgent needs in the near future I think it's worth it.
