The problem is that when markets rise on Hype and FOMO with nothing real to support the lofty valuations you get a backlash when the momentum runs out that leads precisely to where we are now with an oversold market. My hope is that when this market does recover it does it gradually and sustainably based on development and use of DLT and not just based on speculation.

Well, that is always the thing, every market will always come with its own opportunities, 2017 was a bullish year all through and that gave room for a lot of old investors who had been holding through thick and thins to make profit and then probably some people who joined FOMO as they really do not have much experience with the market probably getting over bought ended up picking at the top, but all hope is not lost as long as you understand that in the long term, the market still have huge growth lurking.

One thing with the market right now is that it is another opportunity, so for me personally, any trend that the market brings is always the best as I see this period as the period of accumulation and once you know this is a market that is still young and will grow hugely in the long run, you will know better it is a great year as well for a good discount on some good projects.

2017 is the year when crypto experienced a very high increase, but it crossed my mind whether it was just a strategy so that crypto was more popular so investors would increase or indeed crypto grew so fast that its value rose I didn't know for sure. but indeed 2017 is a very good year.

I think the 2nd wave of millionaires were made this recent bubble. The first wave was made when btc hit $2,000.
If you missed the train, there is always another one coming just be patient and learn from past mistakes.

It is difficult to repeat 2017 achievements, almost all ICOs reach hardcap even when pre-sale (no more than 30 days), but unfortunately because many projects are scamming earlier this year, investors run away and choose other investments.

My portfolio was ATH at 1st week to 2nd week of January 2018. December 2017 to January 2018 was a good run as lots of newbies FOMO'ed into crypto.
Smart money began moving out on those dates as well.

That's true it was a good year for 2017 in crypto and I'm disappointed because I'm late to experience a good earnings that year. So this time is not good time for crypto because of a long bearish market and hopefully it will done soon.

Well, those who were able to make profit in 2017 will be the ones to say that. Most of my profits were made in 2018, which means as for me 2018 is my best crypto year.

You have point but year 2018 is not yet done so we didn't know what will happen next, what if this year give big impact in the society? What if the price in this year surprass the value from the last year so 2018 would be the best year? Don't just look on the price of it just look on the market on how many users use crypto on how many people adopt of it.

I agree that 2017 year end is the best time for crypto interms of price and especialy earning through trading and participating bounties. In year 2018, I think is not the best time for crypto because until now its november almost end of 2018 but the market in always in deep, all ico is not successful mostly. So many token dump and other stock with no exchanges due to crisis of crypto market. Hoping it recover by 2019.

in 2017 and then indeed the development of coins much progress from the history of Cryptocurrency. but this year Cryptocurrency also experienced considerable developments that ensure progress in getting more profits. so it is very nice with the count on it as a coin.
