Energizer are you talking to yourself.  It is very confusing when you respond, then respond again, then quote your response again.

Sorry, that happened by mistake. I already deleted it.

If you really care for your customer's benefit so why you are not offering quantity discount price? Why the only discount option you are offering to your customers is a 30+ boards order!

if there are somebody could run this "group purchase" with lower fee, i will accept his order.  Smiley
i want to give benefits directly to my customers by this last chance, not for somebody Manufacturing a scam or make profit to them self.  Angry
notice that from the beginning, i reserved the rights to choice my customers.

some additional info:

1, the order can not be large than 60, <50 are better. because i only have 90 PCBs, and already have 30 ordered by a local buyer.  Cheesy
2, if there are no body can offer a low charge service to this group purchase, i will find a man i trusted to handle this.  Cheesy
3, if i can't, i will not accept this group purchase, and keep the FPGAs to Lancelot project. this will not cause any loss to me.  Angry

If you really wanna give the benefit directly to your customers, so please handle this bulk order for us!
More over am wondering why you are posting this words now after accepting my order!!! Does that mean that you don't accept my order?

A bulk order of 60 boards = 60 * 469 = 28140 USD

Just please explain to me what for anyone would invest 28140 USD and end up selling out for the same wholesale price

I've just ordered a bulk order of 60 boards! I've created a new thread to redistribute the order! Please join me here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/discounted-icarus-fpga-quantity-order-73644

I don't see the reason for you or anybody to be handling the money. Count me out. I'm paying nzgang directly or not at all. I'm only willing to pay a third party only for shipping and handling.

It would be great if ngzhang would handle everything but it seems he prefers to find someone else to handle it.

Guys in the US, would you be willing to pay me a slight premium to cover the admin costs of shipping out individual orders (and me tying up $15K)?

I can fund the 30 and then ship from here (Chicago area).  We can have money held in escrow?

Just a potential option - if nobody likes it I am probably just going to order 30 and be done with it so they can get shipped ASAP.

EDIT - This got killed soon after I typed it...

Currently there is no one managing the order! If you have any suggestions feel free to post!

Bottom line Zhang doesn't want to deal will multiple small orders anymore! We need to find a way were its gonna be easier for him to handle such bulk order, in terms of receiving funds and shipping!
Are you sure? I think he just didn't want to start another batch unless there were at least 30 to build all at once, I don't think he mentioned shipping being an issue. It would be good to ask him though.

Has anyone quoted getting the boards made locally?
It is open source after all, all the files needed are on Git so you can email the zip file to get the quote.
Not only that they can probably buy the components cheaper than you can.

You can also most likely arrange for the pcb maker to ship to different addresses. Have everyone pay directly so there is no trust issue.

So who is handling this now?

I can accept shipment in USA or Finland, if shipping to USA is at least 10$ cheaper. (Usually isn't).

But i need to know who is now really handling this and why should i trust him/her with my hard earned BTC.

Don't worry, we will manage to make it 100% safe and secure. I am getting in contact with ngzhang. Already asked him to accept the payments directly from us on a certain date "probably we will decide the date as soon as we reach 30 boards"!

So my plan is more like "no third party at all" as we all trust Zhang! But we have to manage it in a way that wouldn't take much of his time and effort!

Are you kidding me? What if you pay nzgang and some dude keeps the damn boards?

I can tell you guys right now that you're going to end up having to buy one set for Europe (with someone you all trust) and maybe two batches for the US.

I have purchased from ngzhang before and I'm willing to ship from Des Moines, Iowa (just two hours north of BFL Labs in Kansas City, Missouri). But I don't think it's merely going to cost an extra $10 for insured shipping, it'll probably be more like $15 (esp for Canada), and I'd have to find someone around here willing to repackage them securely for us (fortunately I do think I have that covered).

I guess I'm not opposed to doing this if we get enough interest for two batches. I'll probably be in the market for up to eight more depending on my private investors for my own mining op (mostly family). I'm going to talk to one of my financial backers (cousin) and see what his opinion is on the risk. I have to tell you guys, though, I wouldn't expect everything to be only $10 more when it is all said and done. When I did an international wire last time it ended up costing about $50 in total (this was the most direct way to send fiat money, however). I think I could mitigate that somewhat by using Bitcoin, but when you are talking about buying $30,000 dollars worth of equipment with BTC, there is a LOT of variance in price that could hurt you that you won't have with straight US cash. (This is just off of what experience has taught me, ngzhang can attest to my frantic emails the night Bitcoin dropped form $4.95 to $4.50 as I was preparing to send him the coin)

Anyway, I will subscribe to this thread and will give you an update on exactly how many more I'm interested in shortly. For now you can put me down for 8 and a tentative on being the one to ship them if you guys trust me. I don't really have much in the way of credentials to speak of, but:

1) I have been around for a year from my pretty dismal OTC rating (Tongue),
2) was known for being the first guys to look seriously at Dwolla since their offices were downtown about 5 blocks from me,
3) successfully predicted we'd start to see stable growth in December, and
4) have recently helped subsidize some miners who were scammed while waiting for reimbursement.

I would be willing to provide additional information about myself for those of you actually participating. If you look through the Icarus thread you'll see a few comments where I asked ngzhang about having authorized retailers in the US and Europe already. I would mostly be doing this service as a way to help increase reputation, but I would want to be compensated for any insured shipping that I would feel obligated to do. I do think the price could be reduced quite a bit this way, I just want to manage expectations when I said I'm not sure $10 would be enough to compensate someone for this appropriately.
