I would say that South Africa tried their best both in their batting and bowling to get out of the crisis but eventually failed in the end. They were 4 wickets quickly down at 24 runs only. The match could have been lost straight from there but David Miller fought back and made 101 runs and eventually helped South Africa some run to bowl with.

Then their (South Africans) bowlers did a great job, took the match to the 47th over, and made every run count for the Australian batsmen, There was no free scoring and it was a great game to watch, a low scoring match but still a thriller to watch. One team has to lose and one team has to win, South Africa was on the losing side but they fought really hard.

Well, Indian fans are biased for their cricketing heroes but they are not braindead for sure, i understand you used this as an example but still no matter how big a player is if he's playing with 50 or 70 SR in ODI then he'll face criticism, and for the right reasons. One example is see fans react to Kohli in the T-20 format, he faces criticism over his SR regularly but in the ODI virtually never.

Also, in the cricket field context matters, like in low scoring matches where every batter is shitting bricks. One batter scoring 80 odds runs with 50 SR is pure gold. On the other hand, if it's an absolute road then even 117 runs with 103 SR looks okayish (Kohli), not bad enough to attract any criticism but not as great as 105 runs with 150 SR (Iyer).

The match is almost won by Australia, if you see their team playing so just imagine the final of Australia vs India, and I can bet of thousand dollars that we are unable to see the South Africa vs India final.

It is crazy to dream of setting a target of 213 against Australia on a wicket where 350 plus runs are in doubt. Australia scored 100+ runs in the first 16 overs and they now need another 90+ runs to win.

Since they could not work on the decision to bat after winning the toss, it is not unusual that many people now consider this decision as a wrong decision. But perhaps they have decided to bat to give them a big target like India gave to New Zealand in the last match. But they completely ruined the plan when they lost 3 of their wickets early. I don't disagree with you either. I know he is one of the best batters of all time. I know about his achievements and what he did. But I guess you got what I pointed out. I was talking about this particular match which is the Semi Final of the World Cup and what I believe is, that this is not the match where some one should play for their personal achievements.

I do not have any problem if he plays with 50-strike rate. I don't have any problem even if he plays with 50 strike rates in the World Cup Final too. But that does not look good when someone pick such match for personal achivement. You might have different point of view.
