I could say my token is worth $1,but then the ones who pay in for the token would finance the airdrop.
I prefer be realistic and say 1 token = $0.001 and if I offer a token it is financed.

now a days there are so many ico that their agenda is to scam investors and i have lot of coins from ico that has no value , But also many legit ico's that have working product already that given many benefit to the investor.
It is not ponzi in my opinion it is the way company to fund money. But its more like an company to open their new stock to public. So it is kind of different than ponzi. But the pump and dump of the coin could related to ponzi.

It depends on ICO quality or fraud. Difficult to distinguish the truth! If this is a way to make money then it is risky. To test a good ICO is very difficult for newcomers to learn about bitcoin.
