ICO is the worst way to invest. It's basically like putting money into a startup, 99% of them are scams, the rest takes decades to become profitable
ICO is not the best way to invest, it is just a high risk and high reward way to invest in my opinion. Since the ICO market is not so mature, there are many scams and you should try to find the potential project.
That is true, that is why you have to be so sure on the ICO where you are going to invest your money so that you are not going to regret whatever the result is. Though assuming that a certain ICO is a legit or not after reading their white paper would be too hard. I'd go for trading if you don't trust ICO's, because at least in Trading you are in control of your money.

I think many people still hold on to the principle " High Risk, High Gain". Indeed it is not a guarantee that will get high result. But at least buyers/investor trying his luck at ICO project.

If you do your research a lot of ICO’s have the potential for a positive return. As long as you are not investing more than you can afford to lose then there is no need for more regulation. I believe that governments are trying to create fear in investors by saying ICO’s are unsafe or frauds. The white paper gives to you an idea of what the ico is about but that is not the whole story, execution is crucial and if the team is not good at all then you risk losing a lot of money by investing in a project that at the end is not going to be as good as you thought it was going to be.
