You must have not carefully read the name of the topic and the first post in which the author asked a number of questions regarding ICO, you give an example of a successful IEO held on a large exchange, these are two different things.
Personally, I only heard about the successful holding of Ferrum, the coin did not give growth, but I entered the market, which can already be called success.  Grin

I am not replying to the name of the topic and the first post because there are so many people had answered it, but I am replying to his new reply.
He has busted many scams projects before and as an expert in this area, I am sincerely asking about the project that I mentioned above. It is wrong to ask it...?
(I am just doing my little research)

In your opinion are there any ICOs in 2019 that have been notable scams?
RepuX/JoyToken is the most notable scam in 2019 in my opinion, pulled out $8 million dollars from the investors.

What was the name of the ICO project? And which exchange was listed on? You mentioned that exchange as a 'good' exchange so what makes it good?

Please elaborate.

Speaking about a successful project in 2019, I think you should see https://www.tokoin.io/. How it is successful?

1. One of the advisors is an ex-minister
2. The participant who joined the ICO already secured their profit for 5x
3. It is listed on a well-known exchange Kucoin
4. The project actively helps local SMMEs

what do you think about it? can it be considered as a successful ICO and at the same time it is a successful project because it brings value to the community?

I have only heard of one ICO which was successful this year and listed on a good exchange, I think that should be Ferrum Network, although I don't know the current nature of the project now. Secondly, the other projects which I saw conducting ICOs earlier this year all switched to IEO, I guess they have seen the hand writing on the wall that they are or maybe bound to fail. On the other hand, talking about ICOs this year, I think investors are tired of being at the mercy of the team, that is asking when listing will occur etc thus focusing more on IEOs whereby they are already aware of the exchange trading will take place. Finally, based on my little findings or write-up, I won't say ICOs are a success this year.

For all ICOs 2019 is another year of failure because all of them failed ,very fee of them reached their softcap target, investors don't have time for ICO anymore and since IEO have proven to be better in every way no one wants to give ICO projects chances anymore, i guess its time to pretend that ICO never existed.

all ICO which I participated in 2019 all failed. it or swindlers or simply the price left in a minus. even one IEO called VeraExchange failed, too. I can not say of course about other projects, but now is not the time to invest or participate as a hunter.

Failure again for me,  there are still so many issues that going on there. Cryptocurrency ICO Scams are still acute. I think IEO is the best investment right now. It is the replacement of ICO way back 2017 because on that year ICO is the best invesment. Today IEO is one of the best.  If the ICO rules will be change like there is the official KYC of the Owners for sure there will be some changes. I mean there is an assurance so that they can attract more investors.

Judging by the current nature of things about ICOs I will say this year has not been favourable to them, in fact the power has changed hands to IEOs. As a result of bad results last year, ICOs which came up this year all switched to IEO and ever since then have not heard of much about ICOs again; so in all things, ICOs this year have been a failure. Also, I don't think ICOs will ever come up again as we are now wise, with a huge number of people not ready to take unnecessary risks with their funds anymore.
ICO's are not the problem it is the projects fault. They need to start making quality coins.

What happened to the ICO phenomenem of 2017? The craze which swept the crypto world and brought crypto based investment on a mass scale never seen before has subsided.

ICOs are still happening but with less fanfare and there does not seem to be any investor appetite probably because the amount of scams hugely outnumbering legitimate projects.

Add to that the number of bounty participants being scammed by the ICO project operators it stands to reason they are not promoting ICOs which has also contributed to the lack of ICO success.

IEOs have started to kick in and that too has made ICOs less appealing.

In your opinion are there any ICOs in 2019 that have been notable successes?

How would you sum up ICOs in 2019 so far?

2019 is a combination of few ICO's that succeeded and a lot of scam and failure projects. It's been a struggle for project owner this 2019 as the market is also the other reason why they were not able to get their target and they turned to be failure projects even if they are a genuine team.

But 2019 is the year of IEO's that is likely 70% of IEO's became successful and 30% turned out to be shit projects. And because of it, ICO's became less appealing to launch compare to IEO's.

ICOs in 2019 arguably a failure but you could also say not a failure because some of them are good.
But most of them are scam and fail, people are more interested with IEO this year because most crypto investors are aiming for exchanges of their coins

For me, year 2019 is a failure when it comes to ICOs. There are only few(2-3) projects which I know got success.
All other, were not able to raise enough funds so that they could even complete their development. They lost the way to their roadmap.
More than 30% turned out to be scam projects.
This is a very bad year to invest because the current ICO projects are very risky and investors have to wait a long time so 2019 is the year will only make you lose money. I think I should choose to invest in IEO because this is a trend that has been supported by a lot of people recently and always has great confidence from investors so IEO will be an investment to help you earn good profits in the this market. Of course, every investment needs research because if you don't study carefully, you have a lot of risks.

yup right. since the existence of IEO, ICO has been largely abandoned, and many failing to reach hardcaps. the CEOs have used many strategies to attract investors but ultimately have failed. ICO in 2019 has failed, I assume if in 2020 ICO might die.
investors have switched to using safer methods to avoid fraud and scams, that's why soon ICO will be forgotten.

2019 is almost ending, and the number of ICO projects which reached some level of success is limited right now. Nowadays many projects are running IEOs and the IEO is even more attractive for investors. We hope that the ICO industry will be more successful during the next year, and it is always depending on the market situation.

This year much more IEO's than ICO's  , because most people now specially those who investors rather choose where they can benefit and earn profits . Many ICO's this year have failed because of lack activeness in their team and the development of their projects hvae been pause and investors do no want their money to go in sleep. IEO's now are the ones that are in line of most investors nowadays.

l wouldn't say that ICO has failed completely, yes indeed ICO is unreliable for the investor, but it can not keep going. There are still many ICO projects, which are very successful. That is right people instead of relying on them trust IEO, but this event will not live a long time, it will change in my view.

The failed ICOs also left the dust behind the token sales, the dusty environment makes it hard to catch the reliable projects. If there is no need to use those projects, investing in the new idea will be meaningless in my opinion. The ICO phase is over, IEOs are more secure and reliable for investing in the new projects with the working products.

I disagree, there is no way to ascertain how (and if) IEOs are more secure and reliable.

AS long as scam exchanges such as coinsbit and p2pb2b continue to have their own fake projects running their IEOs so steal from investors then IEOs are no better than ICOs.

Actually we are don't know future predict. present situation we are that that 2017 for ICOs like as game. because pass 2 year we are don't follow any reaction. but i think all bitcoin holder are hoped that must we can see bright game again like as 2017 year. now all are wait and patience for good day.

IEOs are like a haven for scammers just as ICOs were. They can be used by legitimate businesses too and they can make a success of it but they are open to fraud no doubt.

In future maybe something come along and replace ICOs and IEOs

Despite the fact that altcoins this year did not actually increase in price and were in a state of oppression, ICO projects have not yet died, and this is already good. In my opinion, ICO fraudulent projects have now decreased, although investor activity is also very low. Due to the poor state of the market, investors do not want to take risks and many even good ICO projects do not now collect even the minimum amount. I think that when the cryptocurrency market begins to rise, the activity of the ICO should revive.

I can't mention or remember any ICO this year which was a failure because they ones I knew of later had IEO, also since IEO inception, I stopped checking anything about ICOs. However, I have only seen one ICO this year which was a success, and thats Ferrum Network already listed on BitMax. Lastly, to grade ICOs this year, with little or no news about them, I would say they have gone extinct or on the processing of doing so because no one is willing to take unnecessary risks with ICO when IEO is there already.

If by success you mean the price of the token is higher than at the ICO, then there were such projects, but there were very few of them.

In your opinion are there any ICOs in 2019 that have been notable scams?
These were very much

How would you sum up ICOs in 2019 so far?
I think 2019 was bad for cryptocurrency but slightly better than in 2018.
Well, 2019 is a great year for this market. Although not good compared to 2017, but compared to the remaining years, 2019 is a successful year
